Not a huge fan of chain restaurants; however, this chain offers a good value with its Never-Ending Soup, Salad & Breadsticks offering. Because of this offering, my partner and I gave this location a try several nights ago. The ambiance is the same throughout the country. This restaurant seemed relatively clean and well staffed. We were greeted and promptly shown to our table. While it took a while for our server to make his way to our table, he did a nice job serving us. We ordered an appetizer, which we rarely do. When the meatballs arrived, it was a nice portion. They definitely could have been warmer but overall, they tasted pretty good. We also seemed to wait quite awhile for our drinks and our soup, salad and breadsticks. The drinks were good and were reasonably priced. Our first bowls of soup could have been hotter; our second bowls were appropriately hot. The salad was good and we received an ample amount of breadsticks. Since it was only moderately busy during our visit, food service could have been faster and food temperatures could have been better. Overall, this remains one of the few chain restaurants we would consider revisiting throughout the year. read more

This location's food has slowly been dropping in quality over the past few years - sadly, their prices continue to climb while the service and food drops like a rock in both consistency and value. We were running errands in Oshkosh from out of town, and let our kiddo make the decision on where to go for lunch. I had t been the Olive Garden in at least 5 years! This location did not disappoint. I never viewed OG as a place of fine dining, but the prices are definitely up there with some of our favorite supper clubs. However, I am drooling just by looking at the Photo of my pasta dish from that day. So much deliciousness in one bowl. I did a custom order and got the mushroom sauce with the breaded chicken. So good. My daughter loves their cheese ravioli but with Alfredo sauce and my husband got another variation of what I ordered. Our server was one of the best. From the hard-to-beat $6.99 unlimited soup/salad/breadsticks luncheon offer on weekdays to some of the pricier items, there are enough choices for anyone. However, some of the so-called "Lighter Fare" items advertised online are not available in all sites. And looking for a diabetic option was very difficult until I found the Chicken Margherita with Broccoli in a pesto sauce. Of course, most of the items, while tasty, are pasta dishes or "carb heaven" attractions that Americans love, don't need and are inexpensive to prepare. Olive Garden could provide travelers/regular visitors a service by offering more low-carb, healthy options with a proten that is not heavily sauced. She said she didn't have a server until 1130 but I could sit at the bar top incredibly confusing since I've never heard of the. Term bar top before. Stopped while driving through the area and it was fine for a road trip pit stop but we would never go out of our way for this as the food was mediocre and service was really bad. Don't get the fried calamari, ours was soggy and limp and not crispy at all. One order was messed up, we just wanted plain spaghetti pasta with the sauce on the side and they brought it mixed together and it seemed to take forever for the correct order to come out. How could I not share... My wife & I recently moved back here to her home state and town of Appleton, Wi from TN. We hit Olive Garden maybe once a year. It's not our favorite, but once in a while it sounds good to us. Love the salad/soups and breadsticks! Immediately upon walking in the hostess addressed us and we got our name in for a table. About 15 min we were told, and that's about accurate. As is the norm everywhere, people waiting to get seated but the restaurant is half empty. I really feel for the industry. I was immediately impressed with how clean and neat everything was. No crumbs or mess anywhere. Granted it was lunch and maybe it was too early for chaos. Our server was friendly and prompt. Food came out very hot and fresh. However, my food was too salty for me. Even the salad had a salt burn. Yes, the breadsticks have the garlic salt, I'm totally OK with that, but the salad? My chicken margarita was also very salty, I think it was the pesto. My favorite part of the meal was my steamed broccoli actually. However, I'm not big on Italian, so in their defense it might have been more me than the food itself. My only real complaint is that, while our server was good all around, for some reason she never cleared off any of the dishes. We had to move stuff around when she brought our entrees, eating around the salad bowl, soup bowl, bread basket, dirty plates, empty glasses (she was good with refills). I should have just said something, but figured she should know to do it on her own. Then when the bill came, she turned the kiosk around so we could pay on that, but we couldn't get at it because of the dishes piled up. Groups larger than 3 beware. Wait staff will seat you at the largest table directly next to the door or a window in the section without AC. This is the 2nd time this happens to my family. After requesting to be moved to a different table from the one nearest the door and WILLINGLY waiting to do so, they sat us in a corner under the window. We came here a few weeks ago to celebrate my friend's birthday, and we all agreed it was the worst restaurant experience ever. Whenever we told our waiter we wanted something, he would take forever to come back, and by the time he was back there would be something else we needed. We felt bad constantly asking for more stuff every time he came, but he took so long and most of the stuff on the menu is unlimited, so I feel like we really weren't asking too much. However, the waiter was getting visibly annoyed with us, and when my friend asked for more breadsticks, he slammed the breadstick basket into the salad bowl and walked away. Not a good experience. We have always had good experiences at Olive Garden, and a few days later were craving some breadsticks, so we decided to give to restaurant another shot. This time, we had the best experience ever. Our server, Lindsey, was so nice and friendly and was more than happy to help with whatever we needed. We asked for a lot of items to go, and she was so nice preparing our to go bag for us. Sadly I have to write this review of what was once a decent restaurant. Took my mom here for her 90th birthday as she likes the breadsticks. I called ahead and made a reservation and told them that we were celebrating my moms birthday and could we have a nice place by the window. They said no problem they be happy to help us celebrate. When we showed up they acted confused about having the reservation and then proceeded to Cito's and probably one of the worst possible places you could put us next to the kitchen and next to a table were during our whole meal they appear to be doing some employee training. That would've been bad enough but on top of it or waitress was clueless about the menu and was kind of giggling the whole time and didn't understand how to explain anything. Then the food finally came and it was pathetic the soups were ridiculously bad they were too salty the spaghetti and the new pastor piece that I had had way too much lemon oil in it it was really leaving a horrible taste in our mouths, so much so that we hardly touched it. The waitress didn't suggest anything- I did not want to pay but was not wanting to cause a scene with the obviously inept manager. Suffice to say it will be my last trip to this franchise. 10 thumbs down to the food and service. Oh and it will be a nice addition to my public speaking repertoire. read more

Actually, I think that you--the organic foodie--would like Olive Garden, too, if you didn't know the food was from Olive Garden. it's kind of like those blind wine tastings where people can't tell expensive wines from the cheap ones. I suppose this review is for the Oshkosh location, but, really, they're all the same, unless you get bad service--unusual in my experience. An army of hostesses and waiters greeted us here. Me and my boyfriend ordered spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer and our drinks were ice water and I believe it was blackberry tea? Whatever it was it was good. This was the second time we've stopped at Olive Garden in Oshkosh. The first time wasn't great. It was extremely dirty. Food on the chairs and all over the floor. Dishes stacked up and tables a mess. The wait staff was very friendly though. We also understand it's hard to find people who want to work so many places are slower than usual. Today we stopped in and the two hosts? We're standing in the front oblivious to their customers who wanted to be seated to eat. When they took a second and recognized those of us waiting they said they had to get the tables ready. It wasn't busy. They came back about 7 minutes later and sat us. Our table of 6 sat there, no drinks nothing. Ten minutes later still nothing. Again it wasn't busy and not only were the Two hosts and two waitstaff chatting it up at the front but they were completely dismissive. We finally got up and left. Unreal.
