Nothing against the my waitress, but the food in here today and It was dried up. The sausage was paper then that my friend ordered with her breakfast . My bacon was horrible. My family and I eat there at least 2 or 3 times of the month for the last 6 years. Never again! It was a little busy today. So, I was being patient at first. Our waitress asked what we wanted to drink. We said coffee and ordered our food. Few min passed no coffee. She finally stopped and said they were brewing more coffee. I was facing the kitchen. I can see that she was lying. Not even a min passed, the people said they wanted coffees to go that was beside us. Another waitress brought them over a whole pot that she poured in their cups. A couple just sat down and our waitress bolts over to their table. Got their coffee and order. By this time, it was 10 min have passed. Our waitress walks by us and my husband politely asked where ours was. She completely ignored him. I was done! I got up and told the other waitress cancel our order. First time we've ever been able to sit down and eat. We were greeted by one person and told to take a seat. The waitress cleaned the table, didn't seem very nice but we just wanted to eat. She brought our drinks back and left for 10 minutes then came to take our order. Every table around us had customers leave, come and get served and we were still waiting. They all started talking to us because it was obvious how long we had been waiting. Our waitress was rude and didn't really care. It was clear people frequent the place but as one guy who was leaving said, it was unfortunate our experience was so bad but that where else could any of us go as Springfield's selection is not up to par. The food was ok, not exceptional, the wait was over 30 minutes to breakfast and the customer service lacked any empathy or hospitality. That food was perfect, there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. It was honestly better than any chain food restaurant iv been too. I do have to say that the service wasn't great. A funny thing happened to me today. Yesterday I had a super Philly cheesesteat at Our Hero. Today when I posted my picsI saw a photo of a Philly Cheesesteak. I was a bit confused as to how I posted a pic from yesterday today. As it turned out the photo was from 5 years ago. Today we had Torey as our server. She was friendly, helpful, attentive and accurately took our order. She made sure our coffee cups were always filled. I had ham and eggs over easy, home fries and toast. The ham was good, Not as good as Cracker Barrel but good rather thin sliced. Home fries were OK but I prefer them with a little bell pepper and onions. Rather plain. The toast was good, toasted just right and just right amount of butter. I put grape jelly on half my toast as dessert. My eggs came out perfectly- the yoke was runny and the whites were firm and not runny. I added salt pepper and Tabasco to eggs and home fries and catsup to homefries to round out the meal. The place was packed on Saturday around 11am. The servers did a great job waiting on guests and clearing tables. The cooks did a great job at putting out quality food in a timely manner. The food seemed reasonably priced for today's economy. I recommend Olympic Coney Island. I'll be back to sample more items. read more

Worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Zero stars. The spinach omelet I had had way way too much spinach and not much feta cheese. The eggs tasted like they had 1/2 cup of salt. The potatoes were cold. They never brought the milk I ordered. The wheat toast was OK so they can toast bread but that's about it. I waited for 30 minutes to bring me my check while I watched them bring food, take new orders, top off coffee. Then the check had my milk included. You couldn't pay me to come back here. read more

Small family owned joint in N. Springfield. Food was fresh and properly prepared. Not spevial. Basic fare. Made with care. If I c I ild do 3.5 stars I would. The Greek salad was large and fresh but the dressing was warm and the chicken over cooked and dry. Gyro had huge slices of overpowering white onion and the lamb was really over cooked, tough and dry. Stumbled onto this place in a strip mall - the breakfast special caught My eye. It was fine - nothing amazing but certainly more than adequate, the price definitely was the most attractive part. Had a side of gravy as I i'm a sucker for any place that serves biscuits and gravy. Again it was fine, not as tasty as bobevans or Cracker Barrel - probably would not order the gravy again. This was our 2nd visit, had to go find a worker to even give us menu's. She brought out the wrong drinks. Ordered our food and it was wrong when we received it. We did try to eat it but it wasn't any good hence it wasn't what we ordered. All we ordered was a simple hamburger, my husband was given a cheeseburger. And he isn't able to eat cheese. I ordered the chicken pita with lettuce, tomato and mayo, per their menu and that wasn't what I received. The only thing good was the fries. I told our waitress, and she could only say sorry. If there's something Springfield really didn't have for the longest time, it was a good diner. I can safely say, now, that Olympic has filled that void beautifully. My gauge of a good diner is its home fries; every one of the phenomenal diners I grew up around in western Pennsylvania had great home fries, and Olympics are like taking a trip back home in every mouthful. Crispy, golden brown, with a wonderful mix of soft potato and crunchy 'fried'. That's where it's at. Further, Olympic has a great selection of lunch specials that make eating on the go an appealing option. Their Philly Steak is particularly good, with ample cheese and a well-seasoned beef. Service at Olympic is quick, witty, and always positive. They're quick to fix mistakes (of which I've only had one in my numerous visits), and they're eager to please. We've been here twice now for breakfast. I think it's an average diner. Very small. Food has been hit or miss. The omelets we've had both times have been really good and filled with all the goodies, not skimpy. I had a waffle this past weekend though and could only eat from the middle, the outer edges were rock hard. We will probably pass on this restaurant in the future for breakfast at least. My children and I have enjoyed our experience eating at Olympic! Usually having to travel to Fairborn or Dayton or even Erlanger, KY to get a good gyro. My husband, would have loved this place if he were still here. Anyway - the saganaki opa is my children's favorite (ages 14, 11, and 10) which is fried cheese and when brought to the table a brandy is poured on it and then lit on fire while the waitress yells "OPA". That said there is an authentic Greek restaurant in Detroit, MI that when they yell "OPA" it rings through the whole restaurant, which is fantastic, but as small as Olympic is one doesn't need a huge yell as the flames make it a delight for all watching! We've enjoyed the gyro, the gyro Greek salad, coney's, pancakes and more from this restaurant and we'll keep coming back! The price is decent for the amount of food one receives but sometimes still makes this solo mom cringe. They do offer daily specials like most other diners. As you can see we seek out Greek restaurants and even though the food may not appear authentic Greek, that isn't really their focus, and I'm glad we finally have a nice place to go to get a bit of Greek in town that I don't have to drive an hour or more to get too. read more

Full disclosure, I've only been for brunch. That being said, the food was mediocre, the service atrocious, & the place itself left a bit to be desired. I'm always down to give a shot to the new, smaller places but this place was a mess. The layout was cluttered & compact. Don't bother trying to go with a group of more than 3 or 4. Don't go if you're in a rush, & good luck keeping your coffee full. My friends raved about the place, but I just didn't have that experience. Hopefully with time they get things together. read more
