A bustling family-operated business for a Sunday afternoon. Our party of 4 arrived just after 12:30 and only a booth & 2 tables remained. A variety of Greek & American foods are listed on the menu - if you can hold fast when waiting to be seated and gaze at the case of homemade desserts including baklava, chocolate cream pie and rice pudding. I wanted to order the open face steak sandwich with a cup of one of the homemade soups of the day - chicken lemon rice - but when it came time to order, I was disappointed to hear it was unavailable. I replaced my sandwich order with a Greek salad. The pita bread was fresh, there were plenty of kalamata olives, tomatoes and feta cheese. The chicken, lemon and rice soup was steaming hot and delicious too. I felt it could have been a little more lemony but that's my personal preference. I wanted to love this place; I had heard good things; I was so excited to come here. I was let down by my food, big time. The waitress, however, was quite lovely and great at her job. She got the third star for this review. I debated between a Greek skillet breakfast and the open souvlaki salad. I opted for the salad because the menu specifically stated it was on a bed of mixed greens (I don't care for a salad made from just iceberg lettuce) and the food the rest of my day wasn't particularly healthy. Well, when my salad came out, it was on a ton of iceberg lettuce, only iceberg lettuce, not so much as a shred of any mixed green. Very, very disappointing. I was hungry, so I ate it but I can't say I really enjoyed it. The souvlaki chicken on my salad was cooked well, but didn't have much seasoning... It tasted pretty plain with a hint of seasoning... As if they had dipped it into the souvlaki marinade directly before cooking it. I thought we were done, so I had completed my review, but then my friend ordered the baklava; that came out warm and was delicious. Could have been one more star.... We stayed a little while longer chatting and at 8pm one of the staff started vacuuming.... This negated the star the baklava would have earned. I checked the hours online; they stated 9pm as the closing time and there were a couple other tables still, so we didn't rush to get up. After about 5 minutes or so the vacuuming continued, so we got up and left. On our way out we checked the hours on the door and they also stated 9pm as the closing time for every day besides Sunday (we visited on a Thursday). OLDER reviews looked promising so I stopped in for lunch today. Would I go back? NO! Overall mediocre experience. Restaurant was about 1/3 full upon my arrival. Waited at the "please wait to be seated " sign for easily two minutes before being acknowledged by the first visible staff member. Seated in a booth that had a 3" rip in the bottom cushion and table was still wet from cleaning after previous patron and napkin wrapping silverware was damp from soaking up the wet table top. The Ruben sandwich was good but on the small side and the apparent normally accompanying French fries were not available due to "our fryer is down, do you want home fries?" The home fries were barely warm, mushy, and tasteless. When I mentioned this I was told "I'll have him turn up the steam table." No apology from my young server who was mechanical, and while not unfriendly, came across as having to be there to collect a paycheck and not interested in any type of customer engagement. If I had to guess, the potatoes had been sitting around since breakfast. Even the soda tasted "off". A walk past the prep area, and briefly open kitchen door upon departing, revealed clutter and worn surfaces. With tax and tip, a $20 lunch experience wasn't anywhere close to being satisfying. read more

Olive leaf family restaurant has been our go to place for several years now. Up to now the food has always been excellent. We were there 2 days ago and yet again the food is being served cold. My hot turkey sandwich was not hot, (actually it was borderline cold) and the French fries were way under cooked. The waitress told us "we had this problem last week too." The waitress said there is a NEW COOK here. How long do you let this go on???Somebody in management needs to talk to him. This is a new restaurant to the area. They have a clean bright, modern atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. We came for lunch and they weren't too busy but took them awhile to come to the table to get us drinks which gave us time to go over the menu. The menu is quite large with too many options hard to choose 1 thing. We got the Ruben wrap that was on special the sauce was put on the side which made it hard to dip the wrap in it and not have the insides fall out. The open steak solvaki was a large salad. Was disappointed that it was just ice burg lettuce could have used different greens. The steak was cooked perfectly so tender and flavorful. That was the best part of the salad everything else was ordinary. The tables are very close together and hard to carry on a conversation because you can hear everyone else conversation. This is our second time (this review was drafted 2 months ago) there and the first time was very meh. This time was more yikes. When we walked in a couple was walking out and said "you came at the right time, they finally turned on the AC, it's a sweat box in there." To be objective, when I sat down it didn't feel that bad but 10 minutes later you definitely felt uncomfortable. Apathetic and miserable staff. I know these are tough times for finding help but the sign on the wall seemed to be a reminder to existing employees and a plea to customers to be gentle. Something like "we're short staffed but still smiling. Trust me, no one was smiling. One young guy, who I thought must've been a dishwasher (he looked in his teens) apparently is some kind of manager (more on that later), sat down on his break and turned on the tv to watch it. It was loud and obnoxious in an already small restaurant. The waitress brought my daughter what looked like to be canned orange slices. We were confused because it was with my wife's soup and before any other food. Was it hospitality? Nope, we ordered applesauce with her Mac and cheese and she goofed up. No big deal, just strange. The Mac and other food finally came out. NASTY. Bacon looked like it was thrown in a deep fryer basket too long. Was like eating planks of particle board. My daughters Mac and cheese looked like it was reheated left overs and when she went to scoop up some it came up like a string of hair or something. It wasn't hair but it was bizarre. The cheese was dark and crusty and non existent in other parts and it looked like something heavy was resting on top. They charged us separately for the kids drinks even though the kids menu said they're included which caused the girl behind the register to go get the manager, who happened to be the same very young dude who was listening to TV. He took care of it, which is good. I've since been asked to meet other people here for breakfast and I've refused and suggested other places. Things being all covid-ey is one thing but I didn't like all the little fruit flies getting in my face...and the staff just seems miserable. Maybe I'll try again in a few months but there's nothing good enough about the food to warrant a return. In an employment crisis, one tends to forgive and judge on other factors. With Greek-style breakfast places, if the service is excused...you look at the food and price. None of its there for me. read more

The place was packed wall to wall, We came for A later breakfast, but decided on lunch . the Open Chicken Souvlaki salad was out of this world, it was huge! full of beautiful produce and the chicken was tender, and perfectly seasoned. this salad was truly delicious and good for 2 meals as we needed a take out box to go home. my husband ordered the open faced steak sandwich he called it perfection and said it's his new go to menu item! waitress suggested Baklava cheesecake for dessert. if not for being already completely stuffed we would have tried it. something to look forward to next time. A small family restaurant on Robinson Road near South Transit in Lockport serves quality American and Greek dishes at fair prices with good service. Clean, bright and well staffed, with a big menu including breakfast all day. My wife and I came on a Thursday night, I ordered a side of barbecue ribs w mashed potatoes and mixed veggies and choice of soup or salad. The ribs were tender with a sweet glaze baked on. not poured from a bottle. My wife ordered the lasagna which was a large piece served w garlic bread, she enjoyed hers though it could have used a little more marinara. We both took some home-big portions for around $12 each. The waitress was very good-SHE ASKED US HOW OUR MEALS WERE AFTER A FEW MINUTES!!!....that's a major point with us...definitely affects the size of the tip. When we cashed out the owner asked us how we enjoyed everything, just like the old neighborhood! Will definitely return to try the breakfast. The service was average. The hostess ended up coming over to get our drink order after we waited a while. Our waitress did not check in with us often and she didn't offer drink refills until we were packing our food to go. She also forgot to bring us a second box for our take home food. The price of the food is inexpensive and very reasonable. I got the hot turkey sandwich and it was okay. The gravy was very salty. My sandwich also came with fries. Their fries are extremely delicious. They were crunchy and crisp. My fiance got the lasagna. He thought it was delicious and he'd compare it to home cooked lasagna. My daughter got a cheeseburger. The meat was slightly over cooked and the burger itself was very thin. Maybe this was on propose as it was a kids meal which makes perfect sense. However, if that's the same size as their adult burgers I don't think someone that loves burgers would be satisfied. read more
