A nice surprise here. I groaned inside when an old friend suggested we meet here for breakfast. I expected the usual mediocre food from a grumbling waitress in a greasy spoon setting. Instead I found a great experience. I arrived first. There's a very large parking lot that extends down a little hill with an entrance/exit on Sonwil drive. That's Important as Genesee st can be busy and the stoplight saves the day. The hostess offered to seat me first but I waited. We were sat immediately after their arrival and offered coffee. Our waitress was quick and gave us the opportunity to chat a bit and look through the menu. On a Sunday morning, the place was full. I ordered a pita melettes with gyro meat and feta with the addition of spinach and a side of home fries. Our waitress kept the coffee coming and the food came out within 15 minutes. The home fries were perfectly browned and had plenty of onions and peppers. The pita melette was excellent. The flat pita rolled around a thin layer of egg, stuffed with the spinach, gyro and feta. The pita was warm and soft , had ample feta and the chunk style of gyro (opposed to the thin slices). My friends veggie omelette was good with the rye toast. The place was bright and shiny clean. A large case up front selling what looked like mostly premade desserts but there was a nice baklava cheesecake and I'm kicking myself for not grabbing a piece of the spanakopita for later. Olympic gas breakfast all day with many options on their menu. They also have some breakfast specials. I had special #2: 2 eggs (in my case sunny side up), rye toast and hash brown potatoes. Onions are not included, for 75cents up charge they will add them. Weird thing on their menu: #2 in breakfast all day is $1 more than #2 breakfast special for the exact same dish! Bacon is extra too, 3 strips for $2. A cup of coffee is $3,49, not really cheap but comes with unlimited refills. The potatoes needed salt, but that might be a good thing as so many salt before tasting. Also, onions added to the potatoes is a 75 cent upcharge! I am absolutely disgusted by the way I was treated by the owner, George. I'm 9 months pregnant and simply called to place a food order for my family -- myself, my 6-year-old child, and my elderly mother-in-law. Instead of taking my order like any normal business would, George refused to serve me because of a personal issue he apparently has with my boss. What makes this even worse is that my boss has been a loyal customer of this establishment for over 20 years and has referred countless people to this business over the years. The level of disrespect and unprofessionalism was unbelievable. George actually had his staff intercept my order because it sounded similar to orders placed from the office where I work. They questioned me about who the food was for, and George then stated he would no longer make food for my boss and refused to serve us simply because of where I work. Completely inappropriate, rude, and childish behavior from someone running a business. Treating a heavily pregnant woman and her family this way over a personal grudge is beyond unacceptable. I have never experienced customer service this unprofessional in my life. If this is how customers are treated, especially loyal longtime supporters, people should think twice before giving this place their business. We have been several times on our trips between Albany, NY, where we live, and Pittsburgh, PA, where we have family. We always enjoyed it. But today they did something truly special for me. Two days ago we again stopped there for lunch. I was very distracted (this trip was due to a death in the family) and left my purse there. This place is great and everyone should check it out! It's on Genesee Street, near the airport, but on the opposite side of the street. I loved seeing the pink bison outside the restaurant and had to get a selfie with it. I came here on Memorial Day with a close friend and today with my boyfriend. We had good service on Memorial Day. I had coffee, cinnamon toast with icing, and a side of Polish sausage. Today I had one of their Saturday specials which was the cinnamon toast with icing with eggs, potatoes, and my choice of meat. I substituted apple sauce for my fried potatoes. (I prefer hash browns.) We had Ryan for our server today and she was great! We had prompt service and didn't have to wait long at ALL for our food on either day so I think they had quite a few cooks on again today. A decent little diner near the airport, known for their chicken souvlaki and Texas red hots hot dogs. This place is right across the street from a Denny's. So if my options are Olympia or Denny's, I'm coming here every time. Lots of food options - salads, burgers, hot dogs, subs, sandwiches, etc. It has a family diner feel to it. Nothing fancy, but the prices are decent and the food is decent. The desserts are absolutely incredible and taste/look homemade. So save room for dessert! They have some of my favorite Texas hots (hot dogs with a chili beef sauce, onions and mustard) ... They don't serve them on a regular hot dog bun, they serve them on costanzo hot dog buns... Which are large and filling. Two of these dogs will easily fill a normal person. They were also very respectful of me bringing my newborn, which I appreciate. 5/14/24 - Lunch with my sister and brother as I arrived in Buffalo from morning flight from Tampa. We were quickly greeted by Shandra and escorted to a quiet table near the back. She immediately impressed us as an experienced server. She had our beverage order to us quickly and we noticed that other staff worked with one another to bing out orders. When she returned to get our meal orders she immediately asked if we had questions, which we did. Shandra was a good listener and both patient and specific with responses and details. It wasn't yet peak lunch time so the restaurant was on the quiet side. She deftly engaged in conversation treating us as friends rather than folks she had to serve. It makes a huge difference. Serving sizes were generous for the modest prices, and meals were all well prepared and flavorful. What was wonderful as well, is that we weren't hurried out as it got busier. We've been here for breakfast twice in the past couple of months. The prices are vary reasonable, compared to other places. I think it's the last place around where you can get two eggs, toast, and potatoes for under $10. We also like that the potatoes are actual potatoes and not freezer hashbrowns or the like. All and all the breakfast is a tasty, reasonable meal. The service also was great both times. read more

Looking online for a menu with prices either the Olympic doesn't list its prices on its website or the prices are really outdated on other sites. I Made a call to get a menu emailed or faxed to place a large order for our office building. How can I ask co workers to order and collect money when we don't know the true prices? I was told by the guy who answered in a short, annoyed tone they don't provide anything like that. So what your saying Olympic is you don't provide your true prices so I can place an order for many co workers in my office? When we came in they sat us at two different booths even though we are family that hadn't seen each other in months as we are out of towers. Again I asked to be put together since there was two empty tables close by and the restaurant was not that busy and they had sat another large earlier. The owner had a nasty attitude. Oh man this place was a great breakfast spot to hit with the family. The food was good the menu is huge and you can order such a wide variety of different breakfast options. We ate breakfast so fast I couldn't even snap a picture of what we ordered. We did however try the baklava and the baklava cheesecake (you heard that right, baklava CHEESECAKE) and it was absolutely divine.
