There are a lot of places to grab drink and ingredients to make food. There is a specialty store in San Francisco which has ingredients which are Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, European, and Asian. You will find Turkish sour cherry jam. This place specializes in olives (like the one you put in your dirty martinis). They have thirty different types of olive oils and sell it by the bottles. They also bottles of European wine from Italy and Spain and Middle Eastern wines like Lebanese wine along with Japanese sake. This place is located on Clement street and it's called Olive. On a Friday stroll in San Francisco's Richmond District looking for something to drink, eat, and cook. I landed on Clement street again but this time at a specialty store. Inside you find aisles of ingredients to cook with and bottles of olive oil and specialty wines. They have the Don Juan's favorite Pinot Noir . You will also find wines like Syrah, Sherry and Rosé. They carry artisan pasta for Don Juan's tofu spaghetti ( made with Angel hair). This is the place to create the taste international flavors of different parts of the world. All good brands and quality and a few things that are harder to find in other stores, we picked up a few things as we were going by. Lovely speciality store in the Richmond with European grocery items. They have a range of spices, pantry items, refrigerated items, snacks and more! It's well curated, and they have lots of gourmet and artisanal ingredient. I didn't really need anything but saw they had Torres chips which is my favorite brand of chips! It's from Spain so only specialty stores carry it in the US. They had the caviar flavor which I've only seen before in Paris so I had to get them again. read more

This is a super cute store with lots of Mediterranean specialty items. There is also a five minute loading zone in front on Clement Street. With that said.... This review is for my Too Goos To Go pick up. I bought the $15 worth of stuff bag for $5.00. So yes for $5.00 it's what you'd get. I got a box of expired pistachios. Nothing else. The employee wasn't at the counter when I walked in. After waiting a few minutes, I found him behind some aisles. He gave me the choice of pistachio powder or nuts. I asked if there was a bag like a mystery bag advertised and he said the nuts are worth $15.00. I'm not clear where a box of expired nuts would be $15 but this store feels that it's cool to charge that. On the board on another post it says they're $4.00. read more

Love this specialty store unique to any other on Clement Street. The displays are inviting and neatly organized. Olive is chock full of Mediterranean delights like good olive oil, pasta, dolma, olives, jams, beans, grains and an impressive selection of wines (many on the higher end though the owner found me a wonderful Sicilian white for $20). If you want to spark your culinary creativity, gather some cheeses and olives to graze on, put together a gift or find an incredible olive oil, venture into Olive. I found fresh Salt & Savour brand sauerkraut to make patty melts like the one served at Santa Rosa's Americana (see my review for patty melt photo). It was tough to choose just one flavor. The owner is Ukrainian and has a kind, zen attitude. This store is clearly a labor of love. Olive is just across the street from Burma Superstar. Venture in while you wait for your table. read more

I was walking around in the area and noticed OLIVE's gleaming front beverage fridge - beckoning me in. I saw that they an Adaptogenic Mushroom Cola - and was excited to try it. I decided to buy a couple of cans - and in the process began to further explore this well curated store. The store is clean and well laid out and I delighted in their formidable selection of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, European & locally sourced products. If you're looking to wow someone with a well selected house-warming gift or want to treat yourself - this is your store! Hands-down. I was particularly enamored with their sweets selection - they carry Middle Eastern treats - like Turkish delight, Halva, Kanafeh etc and in the front of their store they have feature an impressive array of incredible chocolates including local favorites like TCHO. The lady helping me - said that they should even be getting in some wonderful Hawaiian chocolates soon too. In their back refrigerated and frozen section - they carry everything from eggplant dip, beef doner, frozen savory and sweet pastries, bulgarian Sheep Cheese, feta spread, and much more. On the right (as you enter) you can find exceptional pasta and pasta sauce options, olives, quality teas, crunchy snacks, caramelized fig preserve, unique seasonings.... the list truly goes on. On the left - you will discover a formidable selection of unique wines and liquors. They carry everything from wines from - Chateau Musar (a Lebanese winery in Ghazir, Lebanon) - to Japanese Sake. Definitely take your time exploring this store. I kept on discovering new products and new delights throughout every inch of this gem. Glorious finds ranging from ground sumac, A'Siciliana's Blood Orange Soda, Georgia's Natural Tart Cherry Juice, incredible fresh sauerkraut (some of the best I've had in years!)- and a wealth of new natural non-alcoholic beverages which truly made me beam. As I was checking out - there was a man with an adorable dog sporting a trendy vest and little booties. The lady helping us both - smiled big - and offered the owner a treat for his dog. She took such genuine enjoyment in seeing the dog enjoy it. I hope this store continues to thrive. This store is quite alright. My girlfriend and I went here. Some cool imported products. Lots of veg-friendly items. We picked up some high quality imported pasta from Italy that looked quite alright. My late Uncle who lived to 101 trained with Joe Atlas in Brooklyn back in the day and fueled his workouts by eating a pound of pasta a day. Of course the pasta was prepared different ways to keep things interesting. Legacy! I am third generation Italian so following my Uncle eating pasta on the regular. Nice store with quality goods. Great new small market on Clement. Very good selection of middle eastern and European products with a few unique selections. Prices are reasonable for a small specialty market. The staff is friendly and helpful. Went there the weekend they first open and often stop in at when at the Clement St Farmers Market - was impressed that each week they selection grew a little more. The selection here seemed interesting but a staff member was pretty rude to me -- I asked where to find dolmas, and when I didn't immediately understand where the attendant behind the counter (I'm not sure if she was the owner or someone else) was directing me, she sighed in an exasperated tone, said "oh my god," and walked out from behind the counter, visibly annoyed at having to show me where to look. I've never left a negative review for a business ever, but felt like this behavior was really inappropriate and left me feeling embarrassed. read more
