We've been sleeping on this restaurant! I have had it a few times over the years, and it's always been a decent experience. This week we decided to order dinner through Grub Hub, and we were seriously impressed with how the menu has evolved! We are vegetarians, and there were so many veg options that it was challenging to narrow down the order! We ordered 3 dishes to share, and the food was on point. We will definitely be frequenting this restaurant more often in the future. Thank you for such a yummy and healthy dinner!!

We liked the samosas the best out of all the dishes we had. My wife's gyro wrap was very greasy. The falafel was okay. Meh.

I've been tossing around the idea of moving back to Iowa, but the only way I'd ever do it is if I can move to an area that has a good falafel spot. The Olive Tree definitely delivers. This falafel bowl was loaded with leafy greens, rice, salad, hummus, and baba ganoush. There were even some olives in there too. The falafel was crisp on the outside but nice and soft on the inside. This is an incredible meal (vegan without feta) that will only cost you about $8.50 before tax. The menu is massive, and you're sure to find something you like whether you're well versed or new to Mediterranean cuisine. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They will answer any questions you may have and recommend good dishes based on your preferences. The lighting is pretty dim though and its kind of hard to see the food. Thats really the only negative thing I can say. This place is awesome

Very good for lunch or snacks. Fresh ingredients. Panini sandwiches make for a tasty alternative to subs and the like.

Got sick when I ate there. No plans of going back. The staff was also quite rude and the girls had an attitude problem.

My co-traveler was eating light and went with the soup of the day, minestrone. We both were surprised at the color of the broth, expecting something tomato-y, but it was light in color -- and judged "very good." Next, a Honey Roasted Beet & Arugula salad. It was sooo pretty, but the recipient compared it to a wedge salad, in that the separate ingredients were pretty, but if I wanted to make my own salad, I would've eaten at home. Chicken Pietro sounded interesting, and was. The order was huge -- grilled chicken and portobello mushrooms in a honey mustard balsamic sauce. The sauce looked like gravy, but dont be fooled! It was a nice sauce, but maybe a little too strongly acidic with the balsamic. The sauteed vegetables and mashed potatoes were delish. Finally, key lime pie to go. I had sold my companion on this, telling her "our" Biaggis had divine key lime pie. Alas, there was no comparison. Granted, getting desert to go means no comparisons based on looks, but this wasnt even (a wedge of) pie. It was a tart with a honey-almond biscotti crust, not the standard graham cracker. It was nice, but I didnt LOVE it. The macerated berries added nothing, and the toasted marshmallow cream was a small drizzled compared to a (necessary) mile-high whipped cream topping to offset that face-puckering lime filling. Overall, an OK dessert, not a great one. If I returned to Davenport, I could see eating here, but next time, it's cheesecake! Service was good, and the place was hopping -- even on a Monday! Its light, and bright and really nice.

Our waitress came over in good time and took a drink order which showed up in very good time. I also asked a menu question which she got the answer to right away. As another reviewer stated it is *cold* in there! I keep a sweater in my bag for this purpose but still, I was cold. 86 outside, 66 inside (at a guess of course). They may keep the air cold to cool down that hot open kitchen. Bring a jacket or sweater. Our food came out in good time. Portions were generous. Plenty of cheese on my burger. I can understand how another reviewer mentioned the food is salty. The burger is mixed w/a GC spice blend that does seem heavy on the salt. At first it was fine, but I couldn't finish my burger. After a while the taste just stuck in my throat and was too much. May want to pull back a bit on the amount of spice blend being added. The crinkle fries were really good. Nice and crispy. My dining comlanion got the buffalo chicken wrap. Plenty of meat, spicy sauce and veg in this wrap. Trouble is the wrap barely holds the filling in and as the sauce makes the wrap wet, it inevitably fell apart. It is very tasty though, and he happily ate it with a knife and fork. Maybe a bigger wrap is available? 'Cause that portion size is excellent. Staff do seem to congregate in the kitchen area with the expediter. As the dining room got busier, we naturally saw less of our waitress but she did check in a few times and was sure to keep the water glass full and offer drink refills. The ladies room really needs a visual make over and deep clean. It does have a bit of a swampy smell. A machine by the sink, that I believe is a dehumidifier, had a light on it blinking "empty". So the tank was full of water? If it had been running, that may have helped with the smell but I don't know. It wasn't offensive, just a humid bathroom smell. The beer is good, as one would hope from a brewery. They have a selection from Irish Red to pilsners. The menu says to ask about sours. The interior is comfortable, casual with a mix of booths and tables. A couple of the booth seats are in serious disrepair (torn/split material exposing the foam cushion) and need to be fixed. A bar with high top tables is on the other side of the hostess stand keeping the areas seperate. A glass wall seperates you from both the brewing tanks on one wall and the kitchen on another wall. Restrooms by kitchen. Plenty of parking in their private lot. Those entry doors (two sets) are *heavy!

We were barely seated when they began taking drink orders--super efficient and friendly service right from the start. I tried the Cherry Bomb Blonde beer and really enjoyed it--light and flavorful. The servers worked as a team and got everyone's orders in quickly, which is impressive for a group our size. We started with the pretzel bites and beer cheese, which were a definite 10/10--warm, soft, and perfectly paired with the cheese. We also shared a hamburger pizza, and really appreciated the thin crust and how the hamburger was broken up into small pieces. The sauce was sweet, and we would've loved just a little more of it (or maybe some on the side for dipping). We're not from the area, but if we were, this would definitely be a regular spot. I've included pictures of the BLT pizza and the jalapeño pineapple pizza that others in our group ordered--both got great reviews too. We ordered the house salad, which is tossed in buttermilk ranch dressing and it's super delicious. Such a great salad to start with before the pizzas. It's large enough for 3 people to share, as there were 2 of us and we had some left over to take home. Brian Olsen has pizza on lock! He is a master at his craft. These pizzas have an amazing flavor, terrific crust and quality ingredients. They serve burgers and a chicken sandwiche, too! We ordered 3 different pizzas... one with garlic cream sauce and green peppers, one with pepperoni, sausage & red peppers and another specialty pizza with the hot honey & arugula with pepperoni and Calabrian chili's. Man, that was some good Za!! Claire was our server and she was terrific, too! Clearing dirty plates, refreshing silverware and beverages. Terrific attitude! All in all, Bettendorf has an amazing pizza restaurant that the locals should be grateful for in their own neighborhood! And, Smash serves beer, wine, and cocktails, too. I wish I lived closer. I'd become a regular and dine in often! Whenever I'm back in town, I'll be sure to stop by to try some different specialty pies, like the elote pie. That one sounded really good! So did the za with wild mushroom & kale!! Maybe one day Smash will create a taco pizza to compete with Happy Joe's, rip Joe Whitey. But, seriously, there is no comparison between the two. Smash is hands down one of the best pizza restaurants in the QC's and is better that many BIG city pizza spots. Thanks for the good time, great food & service!!
