This place is really sexy and they have a comedy cellar. Olivia was our server, and she was super sweet. Thanks for the service, girl!!!!! My friend took me after work and I was like a cafe lol but I was definitely shocked about the place. The stain glasses are beautiful The tables you can use chalk to write and draw on, so fun. Now food, my friend, so hmmmm, I wanted buffalo wings but got cauliflower. lol, I didn't enjoy that like I thought the falafel was really good. The combo of the plate was on point. The truffle fries were my favorite hands down. They also play some amazing tunes so that had me feeling myself

Thorough enjoyed ourselves during a midday jaunt. It was the perfect oasis to cool off and people watch. The service was exemplary.

This is my second time coming here . First time I came here was for for drinks. This time around myself and Fiancé came here for dinner prior to attending a comedy show . I had the steak and fries, steak was good; I just wish it came with a sauce. my Fiancé got the chicken kabab platter, which I loved . I love the fact that they didn't rush you so we were able to stay there until the start of our comedy show ; which started at 12am.

The burger was one of the best I've had in a while! They make burgers with a great seasoning mix of noticeable but not spicy/overpowering flavors. Vibe inside has an old school NYC element that works well. I went on Monday night for the music which started at 9pm; at times a bit loud but nothing crazy. Biggest downside is using the bathroom that's shared with comedy cellar; not great but manageable. And if you're a true New Yorker past or present you'll prob recognize some fellow customers inside (comedians, podcasters, popular 'intellectuals'). In modern times you prob won't get a better mix of eclectic mix of people inside that is authentically NYC which is getting rarer & rarer. My 2 friends who joined me had never been but really liked vibes & food too.

Excellent meal here, we had beer and coffee that were good. The Chicken Kabab platter had all food nicely charred, with some Indian spiced white sauce. Chicken was cooked perfectly. The white rice was plain but good. Decor inside is very classy with dim lighting. Lots of brown. Service was good, getting us everything we needed.

The Olive Tree continues to be one of my favorite spots in the city for the last 13 years. The atmosphere is welcoming and the food outstanding. I really appreciate the bartender Carly's creativity when making non-alcoholic drinks, as I am 5 years sober. Highly recommend 10/10.

Food, service, ambiance - all excellent. The Walnut Pesto Pasta was fantastic, and Victoria (the server) was very attentive and nice. This place has been around forever, and I'm glad the cafe is as pleasant (at least when it's not packed with tourists) as when I first visited.

This place never disappoints. I've been coming here for over ten years and with all the menu updates, it's still an awesome ambiance and selection of dishes. It seems like it's Mediterranean focused, however there are options that contain meat other than lamb. The Hummus Platter is pretty big considering the price and the area. The Mac & Cheese is also tasty, and has panko crust atop the dish. The tables are equipped with chalk! White only, however perfect for kids and fidgety patrons. Not sure if everyone knows this, but the bathrooms are below the cafe... through the cellar room reserved for comedy shows. The infamous Comedy Cellar is below the cafe, however you need to buy tickets for those shows separate as entry to the shows are NOT included in the dining experience. Greg was an awesome server; gives great suggestions. They also carry Irish cider. Check it out- it's definitely a staple of the NYU area.

I had a great time here. The sangria was great and my food was great. The waiter was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. We ate outside and it was awesome. It rained but we didn't get wet because the outside eating are is rainproof. I loved the atmosphere. Right downstairs in the basement they have a comedy bar which was pretty cool.

It's rare to find a place that balances a stunning, high-design space with such warm, attentive service. We explored more of the menu this time, and everything was just as impressive. The oysters were incredibly fresh, clean, briny, and perfectly served. Another standout that I'll definitely be ordering again. Between the atmosphere, the consistency of the food (super yummy), and the thoughtful team, Conwell Hall is quickly becoming one of those places you keep coming back to.

When you enter there is a bar you can sit at and two large high top tables next to it. As you walk further in there is a lounge with couches and various sizes tables. The whole space is surrounded by books! Heaven! We ordered a chai, matcha and a ginger cookie. Shout out to the woman taking my order for comping me my drink for my birthday! Everyone from the staff was friendly - I really enjoyed being there. The only thing I would say is someone should come by to check on the tables more often as I had to return other people's abandoned drinks. But you know what first world problems, am I right? Maybe they can have a sign or mention to customers to return their own cups before leaving. I sort of can't imagine why people don't... It is quite popular spot so you need to be very patient and strategic if you want to grab a table, as well as sprinkled with a little bit of luck. We unfortunately got there a little late. I went there at 3pm and hunted for a table and my friend got there by 330pm. By the time we ordered and started drinking our coffees - we were informed the lounge area will be closed at 4pm to prepare for the evening wine bar. Oh right this cafe turns into a wine bar in the evenings! How cool! At 4pm we thankfully grabbed one of the high tables - sharing it with another couple but it was large enough for the 4 of us. The lights dimmed and the atmosphere changed to more intimate. We unfortunately had to leave at 5pm, but I imagined picking up a James Baldwin book, ordering some white wine and enjoying both.... Mmm definitely next time. Maybe sometimes after work - sounds like a great wind down.

We tried the melon shaved ice $22 for the large which was a bit pricy but it was quite delicious. We were worried that the large might be too much for two people but honestly we were able to finish it without a problem. The melon pieces were sweet, the ice is milk based so it was creamy and flavorful on its own. We barely used the condensed milk that it came with (and we loved how they put it on the side for us instead). At the bottom of the shaved ice was cereal pieces and mochi which gave a nice different texture. We also tried their drinks specifically their blue lemonade and mango-ade which I thought was just ok. The highlight is definitely their shaved ice. Definitely go for the large as the small seemed much smaller and for double the price, you can get almost 2-3x more. What I got instead was a cup of sadness with commitment issues. The shaved ice somehow had no flavor. None. I have had ice cubes straight from my freezer with more personality. Easily the most disappointing dessert I have had in NYC, and I have been living here my whole life, so please take that as you will. I kept waiting for the "sweet moment" to arrive and it never did. I loved seeing the plants along with hints of pink, orange, and yellow throughout the art and furniture. It's a gorgeous space. Service was good, nothing much to mention. For food, we ordered the royal chai, mango lassi, breakfast kathi-rito, and the condensed milk bun. The standouts were the royal chai and the breakfast kathi-rito. The royal chai was creamy, salty, perfect sweet, and silky. It had notes of cinnamon and saffron, paired with sea salt. I loved this drink. The breakfast kathi-rito was tasty. I loved the potatoes, cheese, egg, avocado, and whatever else was in it. The sauce on the side was delicious. Not exactly sure what it was but it was sweet with a kick. The mango lassi did not have enough mango flavor for me, I couldn't justify paying $10 for it. The condensed milk bun was good but it was similar to any other sweet bun in an asian bakery. I'd pass on both of these. Overall, I'd highly recommend checking out Fontainhas. It'd be a perfect spot to check out if you're in the area for the Brooklyn Flea, or just Dumbo.

I'm sad to say that this has turned out to be a disappointment, catering to the Matcha-drinking Alo-wearing DUMBO crowd. One Google reviewer referred to the cuisine here as "gentrified", which I'm inclined to agree with. The filter coffee was absolutely atrocious - one is not supposed to be asked "with or without milk?" when ordering filter coffee. The paneer sandwich was supposedly made with Amul butter, but any charming nostalgic aspect of this dish was removed by the dry layer of ghas-phus above the paneer bhurji. I am all for fusion as the propeler of culinary innovation, but I do not want to live in a future where Sweetgreen has infiltrated the foods that I hold near and dear to my heart.
