Super nice interior. Love the vibe. Service is also really good. Cappuccino was pretty good. The cannoli was decent but unfortunately I didn't like the tiramisu at all. Unfortunately the bathroom was pretty gross. Oldest coffee shop in America.

If you love old New York, this place is worth a visit. Open since 1927 and even featured in The Godfather Part II, the atmosphere is the real draw. It's beautiful, historic, and full of character. You genuinely feel like you're sitting inside a piece of the city's history. Service was great. Fast, attentive, and efficient, but they don't rush you out, which makes the experience feel relaxed instead of transactional. Where it fell short for me was the food and coffee. The cappuccino was watery and disappointing, especially for a place that prides itself on its coffee heritage. The panini was very basic, and the desserts, including the éclairs and cannoli, tasted a bit stale. For a historic Italian café, I expected much higher quality. Bottom line: come for the atmosphere and the history. Just don't come expecting a standout food experience.

We came here as we were walking by the area on a Saturday afternoon. The place was packed! We were able to snag a table for two and it was comfortable, but FYI it can get very tight. We didn't order any food, we only got drinks. I got their sangria - it was OK very strong compared to other sangrias and the apple chunks in it were a nice touch, but the apple wasn't as sweet as it tends to be in sangria. I'm giving it a four star mostly because of the vibe it has. The place is not too loud not too quiet, with nice dim lights, and you can get a drink or coffee or just enjoy some dessert which is very rare of a combination in the city. I would come back here .

Fav place to go after a night out! They're open so late, and it gets busy during Fridays and on weekends. I've also been here during weekdays and it's a lot more quiet, great for studying and doing work. The food itself is alright, they have many options on drinks, desserts, and smaller food items. I really love the tiramisu and also the tomato soup! Overall would recommend

I came here on a late Saturday night around 12 AM after a night out. They are open late on the weekends. It was busy and packed and very loud, a young crowd. Service was great. I got the sangria which was great and not expensive. For food I got the penne genovese but it was okay, nothing special. Love that they close late though!

$3.80 for small cappuccino and it was very good too!! Worth coming here to get your daily coffee and not paying overpriced coffee

I finally got to try Caffe Reggio today, ducking in just as it began to pour outside. The moody lighting, art on the walls, and softly playing baroque music makes you feel as though you've stepped into a European salon. It's still a favorite haunt of college students and old intellectuals alike. The smell of espresso and cigarette smoke wafting in from the open door only adds to this wonderful atmosphere! I ordered a cappuccino and tiramisu. Both were excellent, especially the tiramisu, which was not too sweet, spongy and not soggy, with the perfect amount of creamy mascarpone and coffee flavor. The espresso in my cappuccino was strong and rich. The waitress was very kind, and let me take my time reading long after I finished the coffee and dessert. While the prices may be steep, and it may at times be filled with pretentious NYU transplants... at Caffe Reggio it becomes so easy to tune everything out, to catch glimpses of old New York just beneath the present. I am excited to return. I hope this place stays in business for a long time.

So I heard this was the first time to have cappuccino in US, so wanted to try it out! They actually have an ample amount of seating, especially outdoors, and I really like they close very late!

After the Halloween parade we were all a bit cold. I recommended Caffe Reggio, one of my favorite late night places to grab a bite. I had the carrot cake, and a fresh leaf tea, my friends had the chicken soup, tuna salad, and grilled chicken. We all loved our food. Plus enjoyed looking at the vintage interior. Their coffee and tea selections are always top notch. There is something about those vintage machines that really makes their hot drink selection taste next level.

Ordered: Cappuccino (~$5) Italian Cheesecake (~$7) Aya's take: The amount of times I've walked by Cafe Reggio not noticing it at all is ridiculous! Upon entering, you can immediately see the historic charm, vintage decor, and antique furniture it has. It was actually a very fitting place to be on Halloween. For those who don't know, this is the first caffe in the US to serve cappuccino (since 1927)! The original founder reportedly imported an espresso machine from Italy that's still in use. We got the Cappuccino for a caffeine boost and the Italian Cheesecake as a sweet treat. They both complimented one another well. The Cappuccino was smooth, soothing, and well-balanced. The Italian Cheesecake uses ricotta instead of cream cheese making it slightly grainy, tangy, and less sweet. I didn't mind but it's certainly not as rich or satisfying as a NY-style cheesecake. It's a cozy spot where you can enjoy a classic Italian coffee & dessert. Definitely worth stopping by!

This is an intimate and cozy cafe, perfect for a late night hangout with a friend or even a date night. We popped in on a Friday night just to get some dessert and caffeine and this did the job. It was very busy though so just be prepared to wait on the weekends, also the inside area is pretty stuffy so I wouldn't come here with a large group. The coffee and dessert were great, they have a lot of options for both. They also offer alcoholic drinks and regular food as well.

It was very crowded when we went but they still brought everything out in a timely manner! Impressive. Everything was delicious! The apple cider came out piping hot and I think was the best I've ever tried. Comes with a cinnamon stick in it. My mint latte was good, but unfortunately the syrup was not stirred in very well which i didn't realize until I was almost done and it became too sweet. So if you get a flavoured latte, stir it well. Soup had an interesting flavour pallette, I believe cilantro in it? I had never had Tuscany soup, but I liked it. Caprese was great with the oil & vinaigrette and some salt & pepper added on top. The chocolate mousse is huge, very sharable! We had to ask if it has nuts for my lover's allergy because I tried it first and it tastes of almonds. I have to say thank you very very much to the staff for being honest that they did not know. I know that some people would just make up an answer just to have something to say in response and would've risked his health. He got a different treat on the way home just in case there truly were almonds, and all was well. The ambiance: speaks for itself, look at the other pictures... honestly the place felt too cool for me! I was intimdated! Nevertheless we shall return!

It works especially well for a mixed group since they have plenty of options including dishes without meat and everyone can find something. Even my picky niece and nephew were happy. My favorite entree is the Capellini Puttanesca, with capers, olives, basil, and anchovies. It's super tasty, satisfying, and the perfect portion.
