I was looking to purchase a new pair of NDG sunglasses in order to use up my FSA for the year. I entered the store, not greeted or welcomed. I waited 30 minutes before being assisted and was met by a rude representative. She asked me to fill out a form and assumed that my last name was Nguyen without even taking the time to read the paper. While trying to ask her about what was on the itemized receipt she responded with this is what we give everyone. I told her I needed to know what was on the receipt in order to meet the requirements by FSA such as what does it say as a description. I asked her again if she could tell me what was on the receipt, she responded once again it has our name and logo and everything you need, we do hundreds of FSAs all the time. She then said I need your card without answering. I can understand that they may do FSAs for customers all the time, but there was no time taken to help a customer nor answer any questions I had. There was a sense of rudeness and that she merely wanted to rush me through this purchase. TL;DR Pretentious and unhelpful workers Would not recommend spending 300-500 dollars here No returns, only exchanges within 5 days or store credit read more

The selection is great and the customer service is good. HOWEVER I will tell you about a situation that occurred that will stick with me and refrain me purchasing items there again. I purchased a pair of clip-on sunglasses for a pair of previously purchased frames from Oliver Peoples for my son for Christmas. I purchased them the day after Thanksgiving. I found out on Christmas Day, when he opened them that he had also purchased the exact pair 1 week earlier and my other son told him that he shouldn't have done it since he was getting some for Christmas. He called the store the same day and was told if he came in that day they would void the purchase but after that it would only be a store credit. He could not leave work as he works in the healthcare industry and it's a 24 hr. operation and he was working that night. He went in the next day and recieved store credit only. I was furious since I beleive he should have recieved a refund even if he was told to come in the same day. It was a pair of clip ons. Not perscription glasses that cannot be sold again. So, this incident ruined the surprise Christmas gift, & cost him $200. I spoke to the mangager who was professional and asked me to call customer service in L.A. which I did. Got the same answer and not a refund but a discount to use on his next purchase. I am not angry at the employees since this is their policy, but where in this story is the joy of Christmas? A refund would have been nice. So, my son has a $200 credit and a discount to use on his next purchase so he will shop here again one more time. I for one will not shop here because I think their policy is too stringent. read more

AWFUL SERVICE!!!! I bought a pair of glasses for my boyfriend and I asked the girl with the short blonde hair, I believe her name was Laura, if I could return the glasses if he decided he didn't want them and she said sure no problem. She clearly did not tell me that the return policy was 5 days after purchase, otherwise I would have been back sooner. But like basically everywhere else in the world that has a 30 day return policy.... I went in exactly 2 weeks later ON MY BIRTHDAY and was completely disrespected by the Asian girl that works there when I tried to return them. The other girl who was African American who worked there would barely look at me but at least gave me the customer service number. I will not be back nor will my boyfriend and I will be sure to make sure anyone I know looking for a pair of expensive sunglasses to not purchase any brand you make or carry, whether its from your store or a distributor. I have been buying expensive merchandise my entire life from a multitude of stores and I am appalled at the service I received. Their customer service is excellent. Didn't even buy from them, though they know all the authorized dealers around the area which is the optometrist I use and got it from. Anyways, I needed a nose bridge silicone piece since I lost one down the drain while rinsing my glasses. They quickly replaced it free of charge and no hassle. I'm an optician at a local drs office that carries Oliver Peoples. I have been selling Oliver Peoples for a long time now and it is truly my favorite brand. The quality is amazing and customer service at the corporate office is amazing. I am in the market to get my boyfriend a new pair of driving glasses and wanted to go somewhere were he can choose from a larger selection than what we carry at my office. We came here today to simply try frames on. I let the staff know why I was there and they were simply amazing. Even knowing we were not there to buy they were more than accommodating and super sweet to us. Everyone was very friendly and the manager even suggested some frame options for my boyfriend. In my estimation, these people are crooks. I always take a long time to make a decision on glasses. So, I have been talking to salespeople here since January. Then, I was quoted a price on sunglasses. I didn't want to pay that, so they took my information and said they would contact me in April when a spring sale began. Last week, I called about the upcoming sale and they said they don't have a Spring sale and never do. So, today, I went in to buy the sunglasses at retail price but to my surprise they didn't honor the quote I recieved earlier in the year, supposedly, from the manager. Instead they added two hundred dollars to the price I was expecting to pay and I walked out. I find their constant shifting and quite frankly, snobbery, repugnant and I will never be an Oliver Peoples customer. read more

After a pair of Christian Dior eyeglasses I purchased on eBay didn't quite work out (long story), I finally decided on a brand that I've been eyeing for quite sometime now. I developed major eyewear envy on Zoey Deschanel every time I watched her on New Girl and learned about Oliver Peoples when I did a quick Google search on what she was wearing. Well Christmas came along and my hubby asked me what I wanted as a gift. Since my old glasses are already outdated and worn out, I thought perhaps it was time for a new pair. He was kind enough to accompany me to this store which was a really great idea because he was able to give me good feedback on what frame suited my face. I was expecting the salespeople here to be snooty because the boutique is located in an upscale mall, but I was relieved to be proven wrong. I forgot the name of the lady who helped us, but if I were to describe her, she was Asian with long black hair. She was very friendly, warm, and always had a big smile on her face. She conversed with us, asked us a lot of questions, and didn't mind that I practically tried almost every singled pair in the store before settling on a pair. I didn't feel pressured or rushed. She was also able to share that yes, Zoey Deschanel is one of their spokespersons and showed me a couple of eyeglasses that was similar to what she wore on her show. What's really cool is that they give you three color options on your case. I love that the case is slim so it fits easily in my bag. The cloth wiper is interesting with prints on it verses a boring solid color. Although this brand is kind of pricey, I think it's a good investment considering that I use my glasses often. More importantly, they feel light and most likely won't dent the bridge of my nose. What I also like about this brand is that they don't have those vulgar logos on the frame, which I find really annoying and unavoidable with most big name brands. The pair that my husband purchased for me ended up being cheaper than the Christian Dior ones I returned on eBay, which was a good thing. Finding the right pair of glasses I think is a tedious process, but when you get excellent customer service it makes it more fun. We walked out of there feeling content. They also offered free tune-ups if needed. This store is on the third floor of the mall, but your GPS might not tell you that. :) You'll have to park in the parking structure. read more

The nose pads of my Oliver Peoples Benedict frames fell off. I have had these sunglasses for years! I had called ahead to inquire if they had the replacement nose pads in stock. Unfortunately they did not, but the sales person took down my name and number and within a few days, I received a call that they were in. Not only did they replace the nose pads but they even offered to adjust my back up sunglasses (Ray Bans). LensCrafters weren't even able to adjust them after several attempts. Would highly recommend this location. You can purchase Oliver Peoples at other department stores but the opticians and the personal service at this location are highly recommended. read more

For all of you fml.com fans: This past weekend, I walked in Oliver People's with my nephew browsing around and checking what's new in the store. I ended up being helped by a nice girl and walked out a couple of bucks little light in the pocket, FML. matte black maceo's I believe they're called. I hate this store for having all sorts of great glasses and sunglasses. I hate the friendly people that work here and give honest opinions on what looks good and doesn't and then find even more colors in the frame you're looking considering. Ok, who the hell am I kidding, I love this place for all the frames they carry for my big asian head. The stuff here are trendy and the stuff fits me pretty well. If not an extremely pretty, nice and helpful young lady will try and find a similar frame that will fit my face. read more

Awesome place. My girlfriend went to get a pair, and she's really picky. They were very nice and patient and offered good recommendations as to what fits well and what does not. I was wearing my Mosley Tribes, but one of the rubber noseguards ripped off. They offered to replace it with a brand new set FREE of charge! How awesome was that, considering I didn't even buy my glasses there! Whenever my girlfriend needed some sort of adjustment she would just bring it in and they'd do it right there on the spot. I loved Oliver Peoples brand sunglasses after trying on my sisters. So when I heard about their private sale this weekend (til Oct 25) I went there and was pleasantly surprised with their selection. During this annual sale they have, all sunglasses are $100!! No joke, there were maybe a couple inside case that didn't apply to the sale but everything else in the store was fair game! I looked around and tried on a bunch of different glasses until I found the pair i love! I saved a bunch and I am super happy with my purchase. read more

When I lost some aviators - glasses, that is - on a plane last year (argh!!), I went back and got a receipt from these guys to claim on the insurance. My family has been their customer for the past 3-4 years and spent average of three to four thousand dollars every years on their glasses. The service was fine when we need minor adjustments over the years. Today is the first time I really need a reasonable customer service when my eye doctor found the power of my glasses was made differently by Oliver Peoples from she has prescribed for me. Ester and one other lady completely ignored the documents I brought from my doctor, even when I asked them to contact my doctor directly. Couple of suggestions they made was either charge me more to remake it or have their internal group to confirm they made no mistake. They showed no desire to help me resolve a potentially serious safety issue. The qualities of glasses may match the price they charge us, yet the customer service is one of the worst I ever received. This is the place you should visit only during their annual sales - and only for the frames for less than 1/3 of their regular prices. read more

I brought in a pair of sunnies for adjusting and a very friendly staffer did them for me in 10 minutes. OP's customer service is top notch. The staff at the SCP store is friendly, patient, and accommodating to their customers' needs. Although its selection isn't as big as the other Southern California stores, the store still is adequate. It stocks frames from the most recent season and even have a few from years ago (like my favorite Balmain 1's). This is the best eyewear store at SCP, bar none. Highly recommended. read more

I just splurged on a $300 pair of glasses, but I have been wanting a pair from oliver peoples for a few years now and finally had the need and oppurtunity to get a pair. I was visiting my sister down in the area, and we went in on a Friday afternoon, surprisingly not busy at all (everyone is doing online shopping these days I guess!) I needed a clear pair that I am planning on putting my prescription in later. I literally tried on every pair in the store making sure I got the best shape for my face. I am very happy with the selection, the sales lady was very helpful in narrowing down my chioces (all the glasses there are so retro and fabulous it is hard to decide). Complimentary repair. They fixed the broken frame on my "strummer" and even replaced the nose pads. Now how many sunglass brands do that with a smile.
