Caesar salad
Kristine L.

Called in an order for delivery. It seemed the guy who answered was friendly. I ordered an XL Mill Valley pizza and requested mushrooms only on half and a Caesar salad. Because I was staying in a hotel, I requested plates, napkins, pepper flakes, parm cheese. I also requested ranch dressing. The guy said no problem and my order comes with 3 ranch cups. Hmmm... Deliver arrived on time as stated 30min. He did not bring any of the requested items, not even utensils for the salad. Delivery guy stated it was not on the receipt. ‍ I called the store and spoke the guy who took my order. He said he would let the delivery guy know and redeliver the items. He called back and said the delivery guy would return in 20-25 min due to delivering other orders. That was ridiculous and horrible service. There was nothing done to resolve the situation. The pizza ended up being cold while waiting to see if I would get my items. It was good tasting but looked mediocre is presentation. The salad was not worth the price at all. This was a Very disappointing experience!!!

My regular crust pizza that was NOT

Ordered 3 xl pizzas regular crust. Got thin crust instead so I called to let them know I got the wrong order. The guy's explanation was that they use the same amount of dough for all their crusts even though I paid extra for an XL REGULAR CRUST pizza. Go figure. Then he has the audacity to say they offer thick crust too...for what reason lol. Why would I want a thin crust or thick crust when I ordered the regular crust. What a joke. Not ordering from this place again!

Large -1/2 artichoke, black olive and garlic, 1/2 pepperoni and sausage.

These are the two items that I could eat maybe every day for the rest of my life. A pizza or a burrito can be stuffed with anything you like, any ingredient that you enjoy-it works. The joint is packed, the Giants baseball game is flashing on the screens, the beer is flowing, and the pizza is flying out the oven! The service is always exceptional. The food is sensational. The tomato and basil pizza was burnt so badly that it was inedible. It was beyond horrible. Yet, it was boxed and sealed and we were charged for it. The meat one was charred on one side and raw on the other. It wasn't edible. The wedge salad was whole and mostly iceberg lettuce with some tomato and one tub of ranch dressing. The house salad had onions, which we specifically asked be omitted when we ordered. The dressing was supposed to be on the side, but had spilled out. Things they couldn't control but didn't help: cars were parked in the loading area. There was no other parking and we had to park three blocks away and walk there and back. Since there's no way to check the order there, by the time I walked with the food knowing that house guests were waiting, and my husband was very ill, I just drove home. I could have walked back, waited another hour and hoped for less horrible food?

Buzzing…read morewith warmth from the wood-fired oven, the fun cocktails, the flowing chatter from diners, and prompt service. Great for date night or picking up takeout pizza. The pies are great and while I don't typically love crust, theirs is chewy and worth the extra carbs. I usually order a caesar salad or their seasonal salad option (warning: prepare yourself for a hearty dinner salad) with at least 1 of these pies: Mushroom w/ sausage (secret menu), Bianca, Napoli or their Margherita. You honestly can't go wrong with any pie. They don't take reservations and it's hard to find on your first visit. They are located upstairs above Vin (wine bar) and you can enter from 4th St or from their back entrance. The two things I wish for: them to offer delivery or a call ahead option for pickup and that they were open more nights. Wed-Sat simply isn't enough!

A few words in and a glance at some pics, I was sold. Here's where my next pizza is coming from. Shot out a quick text to my buddy in SF and eagerly awaited 5:00 PM opening time. I love pizza. It's kind of the perfect food for me. I could eat it every day. I'm somewhat of a pizza stalker, (arrest me) and this is as good as it gets. We shared a MARGHERITA pizza. Tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil. My buddy had a beautiful large portion HOUSE CAESAR. Little gems, anchovy, lemon, breadcrumbs, parmigiano, reggiano. A delicious craft cocktail for me: NONNO'S CARDIGAN- bourbon, meletti, black walnut, orange zest. The rotating hazy beer for my buddy.... Dig it baby, the only thing missing was a live jazz trio. I was so pleased that I returned a couple hours later with my wife and we had a delicious mushroom pizza.. Great "speakeasy vibe" with expert, classy interior design/decorating work. Truly a jewel in downtown San Rafael which definitely needs something to sparkle. And, it is located above top-notch restaurant, Vin Antico on fourth Street. Now you have two reasons to visit downtown. If a picture is worth 1000 words, here is a mouthful. Food for thought, have a peek. "He that keeps not crust nor crum Weary of all, shall want some." (I stole that from "Willy the Shake", you know-neither a borrower nor a lender be.)

Our server, Heather, was absolutely amazing. She gave us her recommendations and was very kind throughout our time there. I have an allergy and she checked with the chef to ensure what we wanted to order did not have the allergen. The food was delicious, I wish we had one in South bay. They have their own house-made chili oil which was really good, just a bit too spicy for my tastes (as someone who doesn't eat too spicy things), but my boyfriend enjoyed it. We ordered the Stella Pinsa (Mozzarella, crescenza cheese, prosciutto parma, and seasonal mushrooms), Ghiretti Panino (Prosciutto Parma, Fiordi latte mozzarella, fresh tomato ,arugula, evo), and Stracciatella Gilato. The stella pinsa was my favorite, the panini was equally as good and the tomato and arugula added freshness. Heather informed us the pinsa is their dough that is proofed for 48(?) hours, so it tastes a bit like sourdough. We were also told that their gelato flavors rotate and they make it in house too! If i'm ever in San Rafael again, i'm definitely coming back!

Santos, our server, was wonderfully attentive, gave us just the right amount of time to decide but not too much. The kids absolutely loved him, he made us feel like we were at his house for dinner without over asserting himself as I have experienced a lot of servers do when trying (or trying to hard) to make you feel at home. The food came out promptly and extremely fresh. We had the Calzone Bartolmi, Spaghetti and Lasagna Pesto. All were amazing from texture to flavor. We were there about 5:30 so they had the back and front doors open and it was beyond pleasant with the breeze and soft light coming in the restaurant. We don't come to the city very often, but we will definitely make a point to stop or at the very least order pizza on the way through when we do come this way. Sorry no food pics cuz we ate it too fast put I'll post a pic of the tables

It's inside a mall, and I did not see any directories to point the way. Once we found it and sat down, I noticed the sign telling us to scan the QR code on the table to order. Honestly, that almost sent me right back out the door. I wanted an actual menu, not a tiny phone screen with lots of scrolling and submenus, especially since I had questions about the food. The atmosphere felt a bit impersonal at first, mostly because of the mall setting and the QR-code ordering system, but the friendly staff helped make it feel much more comfortable once we got settled. The two people working the front were both very pleasant, answered my questions, and made the whole experience feel much more welcoming. They had a decent IPA selection and a variety of bar foods (pizza, wings, appetizers). We ordered the arancini, fried cauliflower, and a pizza. The fried cauliflower was the surprise hit for me, especially with the garlic aioli. The arancini and pizza were also very good. The QR ordering setup still feels more frustrating than inviting, but the friendly service and surprisingly good food turned things around. In the end, I left glad that I stayed.
