I stopped here on a whim while walking home from Union Market. I didn't realize they had opened a store near me. Customer service was great! I was greeted quickly and warmly, and all staff were friendly. I decided to get their seasonal ube latte (which comes with an ube macaron) and 3 macarons (almond wedding cake, pistachio, and I can't remember the third one). The latte was DELICIOUS. It was sweet, but I like sweet. It had almost a marshmallow-y flavor. It's cool it comes with a macaron. However, I think it was around $11, and it was pretty small (i believe it was 12oz). The macaron adds value, but still. It was just a bit pricey, and i would prefer an option to not add a macaron for a few dollars less. The macarons were really good! The shells had a slight crunch on the outside and were soft on the inside with a perfect chew. I did wish that the flavors came through a bit more because they tasted pretty similarly, but I did enjoy them overall. It was a small-ish space, though there was seating. There were only a couple people sitting down and plenty of seats left when I was in here, but I imagine it has potential to fill up quickly depending on time of day. I first visited this cute coffee shop back in November for a content creator meet up! It was adorable, quiet and the staff were very friendly! I revisited this location again this month and it has the same vibes! This time I came to connect for a business meeting and we ordered the Chicken Cesar baguette, hot chai, 2 macarons. The chai was actually really good, but it was a little lukewarm for me. I really enjoyed my tea pipping hot. The sandwich was pretty decent, but the baguette was very hard and crunchy I'm assuming they toasted it. I would order it not toasted next time. I love almond so I ordered the almond wedding and the staff recommended the champagne. I absolutely loved the champagne but the almond wedding didn't taste the way I imagined. It was good, but the champagne was better. We literally sat and yapped for hoursssss with no interruptions. It wasn't busy, but you can tell this is a place patrons frequent for a nice quiet meeting. It's really the perfect place to have conversation without all the noise that's happening in Union Market. If you come at a decent time you'll find parking, but parking isn't the best in this location. While we were there the staff members were creating customized macarons and in true business fashion we kept that in our vault for future events! The shop is near where the old Dean and Deluca used to be, a little off of M Street. Olivia doesn't offer indoor seating because of COVID, but their pick up process is fairly streamlined. We ordered a box of seven macarons: honey lavender, champagne, rose, Mexican chocolate, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, pistachio and salted caramel. Loved all of the macarons but the honey lavender and the rose were my favorites. Olivia also offers seasonal macarons and I am dying to try the black sesame! They're crispy, but not chewy, the shell just has no distinctive flavor and it just makes me think it's nothing more than "sugar shell", with the texture of sugar to boot. I liken it to a shell of what resembles hardened frosting. I could be a macaron snob though - my favorite isn't Lauduree or Pierre Herme, but Carette Paris by far!
