Health hazardous place. Avoid this place if you care about your health, because I am sure they don't care about it. 1) Found hair in the food 2) They are cleaning and sweeping while customer are eating without any concern that dust is being spread in air. 3) Manager probably was working under influence and surprisingly avoided us while we tried to confront the health hazardous things there. Locals, I urge you to have this place inspected from health authorities if you care about yourself and kids health. My personal experience: We group of 4 came into the restaurant for some quality food and good experience for a birthday celebration. While we were eating the food, I found hair in the food. We brought it to their attention but surprisingly no one had courtesy to come and take care of it. It was weird. And while leaving I was surprised, they wanted to charge even for the food that was not eaten because of hair found in food. They were so unprofessional to handle the case, not even 1 apology was made in whole back and forth conversation... Not even 1 sorry? Cute little place with a neat story. We were immediately greeted and taken to a table when we entered. Our waitress came right over and took our drink orders. I ordered a burger and fries and my wife had a side salad. The food came out very quickly. My burger was delicious and the fries were perfect. My wife enjoyed her salad, especially the dressing. Came here for the 1st time about 2yrs ago and ordered the Garlic Chicken Linguine pasta, it was packed with flavor. The noodles were a brown color and well seasoned. Went back a few times since then and the recipe isn't the same. It's regular noodles and I had to add so much salt because it was bland. I just had the best burger of the year at Ollie Cat Cafe on West Main Street, Luray, VA. Locally sourced, the medium finished half pounder was almost delicate in taste and texture, with a subtle sweetness I had never experienced. Maybe it was the sweet grass from the valleys of the Blue Ridge Mountains, or perhaps something extra added to the feed (malt, corn), but whatever it is, the bite/chew was exceptional. That is not intended to shortchange the house itself. The large dining room and bar were dated with a cross section of antique tables & chairs, mixed with a bit of whatever they could find, making for an eclectic comfortable space. From our deuce in the front window we had a good overview of the customers, many of whom were from out of town, and found the place online (as we did) seeking a laid back place to chillax on a Friday night. We sampled local brews, too. An Octoberfest and Red Ale from a nearby hopsmeister. Should have gotten their name, but my curiosity was dampened by hunger. Still, they were both decent, if not best in show. Had a great conversation with Shannon, the better half of the new ownership tandem. She explained their short history and how they were searching for a community they could be part of, and discovering it in Luray. Understandable, as this seems to be great small town America. After checking out the disaster of restaurants at Luray Caverns, we gladly headed into town and found Ollie Cat. The entry is a little weird- its off the side parking lot and down a set of stairs. Inside feels like a old fashioned diner. The servers were very friendly, but a little overwhelmed by the lunch crowd. For the food, we started with an order of the pierogies, which were quite tasty if a little bit on the greasy side. I went with the blackened chicken sandwich for my meal which was actually quite good- loaded with flavor and well cooked without being overdone like so many chicken sandwiches tend to be. Its definitely a good option if you find yourself in town! read more

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our visit to Ollie Cat Cafe after visiting Luray Caverns. I really appreciated the warm hospitality of the staff. It was clear that the owners really cared about their community by the display of support for different local fundraisers. We also really enjoyed the food and eclectic decor. My boyfriend got a country fried steak while I got a classic chicken noodle soup and fully baked potato. We left feeling super satisfied and full of joy. read more

We stopped here after a day traversing the Skyline Drive. The food was delicious. My wife and I shared a salad (delicious), then each had the Chicken cordon bleu sandwich. A nice sized chicken breast, fried perfectly with ham, Swiss cheese on a fresh roll, it came with Dijon mustard. Each came with a side, my better half had loaded fries and I had the mixed vegetables. Many places the veggies are mush. Here they were cooked to perfection, then apparently sautéed with wonderful savory seasonings. Our server was very good, and the owner, a lovely woman stopped by and chatted with us. This is a must eat place in Luray. read more

If I could give more stars I would. I went here on a larger school trip with more than 10 people aging from 5-42. The waitress was phenomenal and the food was even better. The portions were just right (I highly recommend the penne pasta) and the prices were good. Desert was even better with an impressive amount of unique options- try their carmel apple cheesecake! I was ext impressed. The food was quick despite the Friday evening crowd and it was hand delivered by the chef. The vibe in the cafe was a mix of family style and grandmas house, a perfect place for a chill but cheerful evening or lunch. I can not say anything negative about this restaurant from an outside point of view and as a future tourist I'll gladly stop at Ollie Cat Cafe!! Also- speaking with our waitress, she mentioned the shelf on their wall being a collection of thrifted items and second hand collections. Stoped for dinner takeout while staying in a cabin close to Lurray Va. it's interesting neighborhood place with very friendly service. As we walked in person that I'm assuming was bartender greeted us and gave us a menu to order from. She was very helpful when I asked where can we eat since we had our dog with us and she gave us directions to park with benches that was close by. We ordered out good and waited a bit. Place got busy and everybody was hustling. It's furnished with mixed matched tables/chairs/booths and very casual atmosphere. We ordered two cheese burgers and one Philly cheesesteak sandwich, all come with sides we picked fries and onion rings which come with special sauce that was tasty. The owner was very happy to talk to us and share her story about leaving her life in FL to come up here and pursue her dream with her husband to own a restaurant. We ordered potato skins to start out our meal. As we were waiting for the skins I noticed the ketchup dispenser on the table. It looked like a science project. Ketchup stuck to side so abundantly it remined me of something id just seen in the caverns. The skins arrived and were clearly frozen and heated. We left to afraid to try actual dishes. If the ketchup dispenser looks like that, what would the kitchen have looked like. The only positive was the waitress forgot to charge us for our ice teas and soda. read more

I stopped here on my way to join friends at an Airbnb in Luray. I came in and was greeted by a friendly male staff - I asked where I should make a carry out order. He yelled to another server and asked who was taking orders and they agreed he would do it. He then asked me if he could make some recommendations and once I confirmed I was fine with that, he shared what he liked and had a friendly disposition overall. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and proceeded to wait at the bar. The owner came over and got my payment and offered me water while I waited. My food came out and then my friends became hungry! FYI, I had checked in with them to see if they wanted food or wanted to meet up to eat. They texted their orders and I ate my food at the bar while I waited, the owner came over to me and chatted with me while I ate and waited, she was very friendly. My food was damn good, well cooked, had very good homemade honey mustard and yummy, crunchy and well seasoned fries. The owner proceeded to leave and there was no one working the bar, my food came out and the waitress who brought it out sat it at the end of the bar, so I assumed it was not for me. After a bit, the owner came back as she appeared to forget something, she looked at the to go order, seemed displeased and brought it to me. I believe her displeasure was in her staff as I was the only one sitting at the bar and her staff could have at least asked me if that was my order. I liked the restaurant and would go back if I was in Luray, but there could be a touch more organization and I would encourage them to focus on diversity as the establishment is lacking in this area. read more

Had a great lunch here. 4 of us, one had the Philly, it was delicious and well seasoned. One had the cod sandwich, said it was good, plate was clean so I believe it. One had the kids cheeseburger, she said it was tasty. And I had the 1/2 pound burger. Cooked perfect, and very well seasoned. French fries were had by all and they were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfect. Place has a diners, drive ins and dives kinda vibe. Service was exceptional, that is all I can say about that. If you are in Luray, I would recommend that you check this place out for lunch. read more

I went to lurray caverns from the dc area and stopped here for lunch afterwards. It far exceeded my expectations!!! The cod sandwich was absolutely delicious. Delicious no fuss food with amazing service! Came here after seeing the Luray Caverns. There was a cafe onsite but it had terrible Yelp reviews. We got the pierogis and the Cajun chicken pasta. We decided to split the pasta and Betty our server was kind enough to split the side salad that came with it. The pasta was definitely the highlight. So glad we stopped in!
