Had a lovely dinner here! The scallops were delicious and perfectly cooked! The brussel sprouts were also really fantastic! Very lovely outdoor seating with incredibly friendly service.

Fantastic! Came here after visiting Luray Caverns. Had the soft crab (special), my companion had a steak, my kids had fish n' chips and chicken and frites. Everything was stellar. The beer selection on tap was fantastic also. Highly recommend this place.

Came here for dinner after a day hiking Shenandoah- what a great spot! Very friendly service, simple ambiance, and delicious food. We especially liked the jerk wings. My scallops were perfectly cooked as were my daughters' ribeye and salmon. Duck fat fries to die for too! Each entree came with a side and a sauce to choose. If you're in Luray, and want a nice (more pricey) meal, this is where to go!

The cocktails are expertly crafted and the perfect way to start your experience.

Everything about the Chop House is top tier from the location and ambiance to service and food. Nestled in a cozy little area of town, in what appears to be an old home, it is truly a hidden gem of the state of Virginia. We were seated right away in a room at the top of the stairs at a cozy table for two. The decor is quietly gorgeous, subdued color yet bright and welcoming. After a couple minutes with the menu our delightful server came for drink and appetizer orders. We selected two of the bourbon cocktails and the crab dip then continued to peruse the menu for our entree selections. It was hard to choose from the delicious options but I landed on the catfish and hubby the filet. The drinks were divine sips, crafted expertly and the crab dip was delicately balanced with the crab, seasoning and cheese. The chips were warm and crispy which added great texture to the dip. Hubby's steak was cooked to temp perfectly and he said the mac and cheese was the best he'd ever had! I'm not sure how to describe how good the catfish was, dare I say clean and fresh! The coating was seasoned well and the fish was delicious, paired with asparagus and mashed potatoes, I was in comfort food heaven! I so very highly recommend the Chop House and hope you find it as wonderful as we did!

We had a really nice lunch at the Chop House Bistro. We had 6 people and 3 had burgers, 1 had tofu sandwich, one had wings and one rice/salmon bowl. Our waiter upstairs was fantastic. The kids looooved the peach ketchup so much and our server brought more choices out for the person who didn't want peach ketchup. The tofu sandwich was just so so. The burgers were really great. Overall a nice meal and we recommend.

We wandered into the bistro when we arrived in town on our way to a few nights in a cabin on the river. From the moment we walked in, we were happy. The woman greeting us was warm and friendly, the fireplace in the entry was beautifully decorated and warm, and our table was ready. Our server Cal was fun from the first moment we met. He described and explained the mocktails so well we immediately ordered some - the cosmo and the cider lemonade. So good! He gave us time to consider the menu options peacefully. We ordered: for me the small order of wings and a Cobb-like salad with blue cheese and farm egg and husband had a house burger with duck fat fries. Our server accidentally brought me the soup of the day, apologized and then said it was on the house if we wanted it. It was amazing. a bisque of potatoes, sriracha and lime crema that we shared. We felt lucky. The entrees we ordered were so well prepared and delicious. This was a meal that was worth every penny in every way - quality of food and personal, unrushed service. A true example of value for money. We hope to come back!

Delicious food; in fact the best we had while staying in Luray! Make a reservation if you're visiting on a weekend or holiday. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with attentive staff. They had some very unique dishes as well, in addition to all of the American classics. The restaurant was very clean and the quiet ambiance was perfect for dinner conversation.

Great: Hummus Bowl with a very lemony hummus + a cucumber chickpea salad with lemon yogurt and a perfectly grilled naan/ The duck fat fries. Potato with skin on perfectly fried and salted. Ok but not great: the burgers while tasty and with a nice sear are overcooked and bit dry as a result.

Stopped by for an early dinner on a Friday during a weekend getaway. Excellent experience. Good menu variety and prices (especially if you're visiting from the city). Beautiful decor and ambiance in a charming space. Service was extremely fast. An absolute must to eat here if you're in Luray. Also, take the time to visit the other local shops on the Main St.

I had been messaging the owner, Tony, weeks prior to arriving and he had seemed very supportive and excited to have us. We had planned to have a printed menu with catered specifically to us and when we arrived all we got was a tacky birthday balloon on the table. The hostess was definitely treating us differently and we were some of the only people of color in the restaurant. I have been to other places in the Shenandoah area and I have never experienced something like this where I just felt like I wasn't welcomed at all. I highly recommend Rhouse Wine if you want a similar vibe with very accepting and friendly staff. I had gone up to tell the hostess about my previous emails with the owner and she said "oh I forgot I got a text about something but the printer is down". She was being very dismissive and condescending towards us but very friendly towards everyone else. I really feel conflicted about this because the food was great (except the short ribs were too salty) and our server seemed nice. But I felt rushed on my way out when we got our bill just after receiving our dessert and I had noticed that people kept getting little gifts from the server with their bill and that never came. We didn't even get a candle or anything on the dessert. What was supposed to be a special night, turned into a terrible experience I hope no one ever has to encounter.

Every staff member we encountered was kind and seemed happy to be a part of Porch & Vine. The owner stopped by our table to say hello and check in on our experience which was a really nice touch as well. Finally and most importantly, the food was delicious too! This genuinely might have been the best steak my husband and I have ever had. The charcoal grill flavor was AMAZING. Our pork belly appetizer was very flavorful and tender. The only constructive feedback I will give was that for the high price, I do feel that my scallop entree needed to be a little larger. It's served in an appetizer size plate and left me feeling hungry. Drink wise, we really appreciated that the drinks could be ordered spirit-free or with the paired liquor. The drink menu was extensive too! Overall, I HIGHLY recommend you stop in this new gem downtown. The curated decor, friendly staff, and from-scratch kitchen really set this place apart. We can't wait to come back and try their brunch as well!

Came here on a recommendation and found it to be great…read more The whole place is a somewhat standard American-fare bar. My wife was very excited to try the pierogi appetizer. It was delicious with some onions and what tasted like bacon fat on it. The kiddos got items from the kids' menu - a simple pasta and a small pizza. There was a special while we visited (Oktoberfest, I think) that had some fantastic German items, including a killer schnitzel with sour red cabbage and mashed potatoes. It was fantastic. I got a couple of the on-tap beers and enjoyed them much. There is a respectable cocktail menu (any of them can be made mocktail if you want). One thing I appreciated very much was how family-friendly the place is. Our waitress saw Child #3 starting to melt down and brought him over some toys to play with, commenting that she had kids of her own. Indeed, in the corner, there is a whole table full of toys for kids to play with. Even the bathroom has a full changing table setup, which is way better than those wall changing tables. Overall, a great experience.

I flagged someone over to ask for new water (for the record there was no one dining here and plenty of workers) and the lady stared at me and after 15 seconds said can you repeat that. I said the water tasted funny can we please get a new one. She said, "the water tastes funny here." The server brought us the mozzarella sticks and then said do you want any plates. (Mind you there were 5 of us) and I said he's. He said, "how many" I said for everyone???? I'm not sure why you have to ask. He also later asked us if we wanted a refill... of water. I mean... can't you just refill it without asking? Then our mozzarella sticks came out and one didn't have any cheese in it. To be fair I flagged the server down and I said get I get one and showed him the empty cheese. And he said, "with cheese in it?" They brought back two which was good. The food arrived for the kids first and adults waited like 5 more minutes. So everyone was eating at different times. The burger my kiddo got he said tasted funny and the other older kid said it had a weird aftertaste. I said I didn't want to pay for something that tasted funny. The guy went back to the kitchen and came back and said they were cooking another one. I was frustrated because I didn't want another one. I said I didn't want to PAY for something inedible. He said, "well we can't do that because our boss isn't here." And I was like okay fine just give us the check, it will just be reflected in my review. He came back after like 5 minutes and said his manager said they could take it off. Okay so now the portions were pathetic. The Philly cheese steaks were on hot dog buns and it wasn't even fully filled. The kiddo said the pasta was good. It did look decent. I feel like it's hard to screw up pasta though. The chicken parm sandwich barely had any cheese or sauce on it and was on a flimsy hamburger bun. I'm pretty embarrassed I spent $75 for such a pathetic dining experience. I would not recommend anyone go here.

Members of the staff quickly came by to let us in and we walked into a empty sitting area. To be fair, it was around 3:00pm on a Wednesday. The vibe inside is eclectic, homey, and comfortable. We grabbed a seat at a table near the fire. We had time to review menu. I picked a classic Whiskey Sour and my Mom got one of their warm whiskey cocktails. Both of us really enjoyed ours. We sipped and savored them and just enjoyed a bit of a respite from our road trip. We both got a bottle of their whiskey to take home with us. These aren't your standard whiskeys and they are definitely more expensive than what you'd probably get in the liquor store. We've been enjoying our purchases at home since our visit. The mountain views are great, and the farm-to-table menu is always interesting. We've eaten here several times, and it has never disappointed. I have found the front staff and the wait staff to be lacking in their consideration towards restaurant guests. It seems that they are picking and choosing whom they choose to grant a great experience to. Service: The front staff and waitress we had carried an air of attitude when dealing with me and my family. It seemed like they were not keen to accommodate a few of our basic requests which essentially boiled down to laziness. To be honest, they are very petty when it comes to getting a table on their rooftop...when my family (of 5) came in, they told us it was first come first serve and sat us inside. Another family came in with 3-4 adults and 2 kids after we were seated, to which they promptly moved them outside even though they were inside as well when a spot opened up. I'm not truly understanding the mentality of service here and frankly thought for a nice establishment there would be better decorum and attitude towards guests. Food: overall pretty good. I found the food and drink to be solid. In summary, the food is good here but doesn't surpass the service we received.
