This is an excellent Greek restaurant. The food is authentic, healthy and delicious. On their menu, they have written a pledge to continue to offer the community excellent food at great prices and I believe they are meeting this promise. Pictured is a deliciously Greek dish featuring meat stuffed grape leaves, "Dolmades", and a hearty braised beef dish, "Kokkinisto." Both dishes were excellent and I highly recommend the stuffed grape leaves. Our waiters have always been attentive and friendly. We're get checked on often as they always make sure our needs at the table are met. There is also ample seating outdoors with heaters and fans as well as indoors. The ambiance is perfect for a casual date or a get together with friends and family. This is my second visit here and I look forward to being a regular here. read more

I have fallen in love with this restaurant. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the food was amazing! Of all things to order at a Greek restaurant I ordered the spaghetti and it was delicious. The rest of my party ordered more traditional Greek options and I don't think anyone left a crumb behind. A rest place for groups or an intimate dinner for 2, there is a certain charm that goes along with everything else I have mentioned. The only issue is limited parking. Outstanding restaurant with outstanding food and outstanding service! Walked in on a Monday night and was seated immediately in a charming outdoor area. Staff was friendly and accommodating from the get-go as we moved some tables around for our group. I ordered the Gyro & Chicken Kabob Plate and absolutely loved it. I could tell from my first bite that this would be a place to remember. The meat was juicy and flavorful while the tzatziki served as a refreshing side. I also loved the salad, specifically the block of feta that came with it! How many restaurants are doing that? I will definitely be hunting this place down on my next visit to San Diego! read more

Was craving for roasted half chicken and typed in Mediterranean as cuisine option and this place popped up. It was close by, had outdoor seating (pet friendly), and a parking lot. It checked all my criteria on this particular day as I could bring my chihuahua. The 1/2 Greek style chicken ($15) and the House Specialty Greek style chicken ($15) are both the same except the former had a choice of rice, French fries, or mash so I went with that. Also got dolmadakia ($8), hummus ($7) and pita, chicken and beef kabob combo added lamb. Came with rice, salad, and pita. Each dish was huge! The chicken was so moist and hit the spot. The dolmadakia is one of the best I've had and it tastes so good with the lemon juice. read more

We tried this restaurant last month to celebrate my daughter's birthday with family and some of her friends and we brought her birthday cake. Olympic Cafe offers fast and efficient service along with delicious food. The waitress informed us of a dollar-per-person charge for outside desserts since they offer their own selection. It's the only place I've encountered this policy, but it didn't overshadow the great experience. Despite being a busy place, the service was impressively quick. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a great spot for any occasion. Parking is a bit limited in the front, but there's street parking available and possibly some parking in the back. We loved the ambience of this restaurant. My husband had the pastitsio and I had a gyro and lentil soup. We shared dolmas. Everything was excellent but the potatoes and sauce that came with my husband's dish were especially delicious! The baklava, dream bar and Greek coffee also wonderful. You know I wanted to be impressed by this place but honestly it was just meh. I had never tried it before so I ordered what I thought would be a decent amount of food for just myself. I got the gyro sandwich, an appetizer of dolmades, and the galaktoboureko dessert. Honestly I like to eat but I was expecting to have leftovers after spending over $30 after tax. Nope. Shrinkflation might be hitting hard here cause I downed all the food and ate more a couple hours later. Looking at the menu it seems like maybe they try to cater to more dine in so maybe I'll come back by and try something different off the menu but I was just not that impressed with this meal. read more

Had the following: Avgolemono Soup : simply delicious! Lemony chicken broth with shredded chicken bits and rice. Side of crackers. Warmed my soul :) Pork Souvlakia - 3 grilled pork skewers. Was perfectly cooked with a char and lemony taste. Might even like skewers like this more than yakitori! 1/2 Chicken - roasted chicken with salad and a side. Choose their mashed potatoes which were some of the best mashed potatoes I've had in a while with a chicken broth gravy. Chicken was large enough to share and was great. You can ask for hot sauce on the side. It comes with warm pita too! Place is quaint with a home style feel. 3 items and wasn't over $40 for dinner. This is our go-to place hands down! We found this gem not too long ago and since then we have been here 5 times!! We bring all our friend to hang out. Very authentic Mediterranean food. It's like visiting someone's home in Greece! The ambiance itself is like being in a Mediterranean cafe. I recommend the Saganaki to start off with for the authentic Greek experience. Ok, I am Greek and very picky when I critique Greek food. Olympic Cafe is a Greek restaurant that is unlike most "Greek" reactants I find in SoCal. Its menu is diverse, yet simple. Its appetizers and entrees are very well prepared and delicious. The Greek flavor is not watered down, it's very close to being authentic. I tried the "kokkinisto" which is beef braised on red wine and tomato sauce. It was very good although the meat could have been a little more tender. We also ordered the lamb shank, amazing. The avgolemono soup was very delicious, right consistency and amount of lemon (most places don't put enough lemon or some overdo it). Even the Greek salad had the right amount of dressing and it was super. I totally recommend (as an appetizer) the spicy feta dip which comes with pita bread and veggies. It's perfect in taste and how spicy it is. Many places achieve its heat by adding sriracha sauce; not this place. Parking can be a challenge but look around and you should find a spot. We ended the meal with a peace of Galaktonoureko, a traditional custard filled phyllo based dessert soaked in syrup. It was so fresh and homemade! Stefanos was our server, he was fantastic, enthusiastic, a great asset to this restaurant! If you want some quality and tasty Greek food, Olympic Cafe and Stefanos are a sure bet to make that happen for you! read more

We absolutely loved our time at Olympic Cafe. This charming restaurant has such a friendly ambience and we keep on seeing local patrons dining with a smile on their faces. We both got a platter of chicken/beef kabob and gyro/beef kabob that come with rice, Greek salad, and hot pita. Every component of the dish was amazing! We couldn't believe how soft and tender the meat is. The beef kabob is my favorite as it was so succulent and juicy. The pita bread was also fresh and hot and next time, we want to get a side of spicy feta to come with it. Serving was huuuuge but not too overwhelming. For dessert, we got the Galaktoboureko--a Greek custard dessert with honey and filo pastry. This is a new item we've never tried before so we weren't really sure what to expect. It was light and flavorful but just enough sweetness! And definitely be generous sprinkling that cinnamon powder on top because it complements it well. Overall, we enjoyed our first dining experience here and we would go back to try other promising things on the menu like the roast chicken, pork chops and the pork souvlaki. Nice to be able to have a pork souvlaki. Just asked instead of chicken for a pork souvlaki. Stopped in for weekday lunch and we were pleasantly surprised by both the excellent and friendly service as well as fresh and healthy homemade food. I was hesitant to request to split the shrimp kabob salad but the waitress didn't mind one bit! And it was plenty large for two women. All the produce was crispy and flavorful. We got 3 delicious shrimp each. No complaints here!!! Brought home an order of the phyllo topped custard for later and wow!!!! Have never had custard so light. This was the first time I was able to dine-in here and it was a great experience! The staff was super friendly and the food was delicious and the portion sizes were giant! My girlfriend and I got the Spicy Feta appetizer to start. We got both pita bread and the veggies, which included carrots and cucumbers. I honestly preferred the veggies over the pita , but both were tasty. liked the feta, but there was zero spice whatsoever. Even my girlfriend agreed and she's very sensitive to anything spicy. I also tried the lentil soup, which was full of lentils and potatoes and very tasty. For our entree, we split the Beef Kabob plate. The beef was cooked absolutely perfect and the rice was perfectly seasoned. It was all around a delicious dish. My only criticism is that the feta on the Greek side salad was American feta rather than authentic Greek feta. For most people, this wouldn't be a big deal, but I can't stand American feta and was a bit disappointed that a Greek restaurant chose to use it. For dessert, we got the Galaktoboureko. This was definitely homemade and tasted just like one of my Greek relatives made it for me. I'm not a cinnamon person, so I was really glad there was only a light cinnamon taste. Will be coming back for sure. This is one of my favorite Greek restaurants in all of San Diego! read more
