Most customers are office workers stopping in to grab breakfast or lunch during the workday, which means there's plenty of seating for those of us looking for a spot for remote work. The staff are very kind, friendly, and efficient. The vibe is usually the perfect balance of quiet without being too quiet (if you work from a lot of coffee shops, you probably know what I mean). And best of all, there's any extensive selection of drinks and food! Everything I've tried so far has been delicious. Hidden away on the backside/east side of Tower 591, this is a gem hidden in West Mission Valley! Who knew this was here?! Walk through the back door of the corporate office building to find open living room and table style seating With open counter and cold cases from which to order. Fantastic selection of fresh pressed juices, smoothies, coffees, teas, cocos, and other great drinks. Full breakfast and lunch menu with both hot and cold options for this cute café, I wouldn't even call it a coffee shop. Breakfast ranges from bagels and breakfast sandwiches to pancakes, waffles, and French toast to omelettes and egg, dishes and avocado, toast, açai, bowls, oatmeal, granola and yogurt and fresh fruit. Lunch ranges from salmon and grilled chicken to high-quality deli meat and cheese sandwiches, fresh Vegetable salads with proteins, added, shrimp, ceviche, and more. Limited parking out the back entrance but ample parking at the front entrance to the building. I only stopped here for a coffee to go and ended up ordering a beautiful egg and avocado toast and took a great fruit salad and salmon. Greek salad to go for later! Friendly staff, orders get out quickly, but sometimes not the entire order all at once. You'll be given a number which will be called to pick up your order or Portioned out pieces of your order. TV available in the café. Prices are definitely less expensive than coffee shops down the block food and beverage quality and atmosphere is spot on. It may be a little out of your way or feel a little odd to visit an office building For an office building café, but it's worth it! The day I came there were lots of older high school/young college aged students, families with kids, business people, people off work, a nice menagerie. HIDDEN GEM in the lobby of a Business Tower!! We arrived at 7:00am, and were confused because there is NO SIGNAGE until you go around the back. So you pull into the business parking lot across from the hotel, drive around back and you will be at the entrance. If you arrive early, you will not be able to enter the building without a key card. At 7am the door will electronically unlock and you can enter. There is a seating area outside as well. The breakfast area is very clean and modern. The menu covers all the great breakfast options like waffles and eggs and many sandwiches. The coffee options were also excellent. The waffle machine was broken, but I did get a great set of pancakes with eggs and 4 slices of BACON! Everywhere else they only give 2. Very tasty and great. Not really any table service, but they will call you and come out if you need something. Condiments are to the right of the counter. Bathrooms are (not) maintained by the business tower. They are modern and clean, but there was some build up of issues which may get out of hand and the signoff sheet had not been signed off in about 3 weeks. I know someone must at least refill supplies, but I doubt it is receiving attention. This is not the restaurant's area, but they should also monitor. Also the back of the business tower, facing the stacks of underside of highways, and a drainage tunnel. There is fencing to keep unhoused from coming into the business area, but it is still visible. This place is awesome! It is hidden in an office lobby but the prices are really good. They have good sized drinks and coffees that are mostly under six dollars and their most expensive item as of when I last went was fifteen dollars. It is a good breakfast or lunch place with sweet Belgian waffles and pancakes or savory breakfast paninis and salads. Service is good and there aren't a lot of workers so I am impressed. It's cozy and nice and rarely crowded. The workers are always super nice and it's a bit of a drive to mission valley but it is so worth it! read more

Needing a place to work remotely while in the San Diego area, we found Jane's Cafe. What a hidden gem! Food was delicious and the coffee was tasty. The cafe itself sits on the bottom floor of the TD Ameritrade building. The staff were energetic and friendly. We stayed for about 2-3 hours. Jane's is such a difficult place to review for me. The service is wonderful in the sense that the employees are very warm and welcoming. They will give you all the advice you need on figuring out what to order, but they will also mess it up about 75% of the time. So far we had the chicken fettuccine Alfredo (8 out of 10), salmon burger (7 out of 10), strawberries chicken salad with feta (8 out of 10), side salad (7 out of 10), chicken pesto spinach wrapped (9 out of 10), California burrito (6 out of 10) l, French toast combo with eggs, sausage and house potatoes (9 out of 10!), chicken pesto pasta (9 out of 10) My co worker always gear toward the chicken pesto pasta with extra chicken. It is so flavorful and last us a couple of days. Everything was made super fresh! The portions are huge! The prices is very good and affordable. Like many, I was confused when this place popped up as a breakfast option based on the location. Why hadn't I seen it before? Because it's in the lobby of the TD Ameritrade office building. I really wanted to like this place given the reviews and the sweet older gentleman who took my order (I assume he's the owner) and the comfy vibes. I order the carne asada breakfast burrito, which came with rice and refried beans. Unfortunately the carne asada meat was extremely chewy and tasted like it had been sitting in a fridge for a while. The gentleman offered to replace it with another dish, so I got the huevos rancheros. What was brought out to me was a splattered mess of three uncooked corn tortillas with fried eggs absolutely covered in red enchiladas sauce with some refried bean paste and hints of melted cheese and slab of sour cream on top. I'm sure they do a few good dishes here and maybe I just got unlucky but given the experience I doubt I'll ever come back. read more

Been here a few times now in the last couple months and the food and the service have been a hit each visit. The café area is pretty spacious and not ever really that crowded with the people who work in the building from my experience which is nice. The service is also very friendly and welcoming and they definitely make their coffee and food items fresh. Their Americanos and Lattes are made pretty well and at reasonable prices especially compared to other places in the area. Their food items are pretty good including their bagels and especially their breakfast burritos; the Machacha burrito in particular is great and is a pretty decent portion. I feel that they make a more quality breakfast burrito than all of the chain taco shops in Mission Valley. The are only open M-F so if you're working from home or on the go it's a great place to do a pickup and start your day with. read more

Besides the butter being really cold and the syrup being an inexpensive/off brand, the French Toast was still good! I also ordered the Mexican Omelet with shredded beef-WOW! Used to be my favorite breakfast spot and went out of my way to get food here (I do not work in the building). A few weeks ago, I got a couple of bagels toasted with cream cheese and they were burnt and had virtually no cream cheese and the potatoes that came with the omelette were undercooked. I gave them another shot and even told them that last time there was no cream cheese, and while they're not totally burnt this time, their quality has gone down and it seems to be their norm now. I'm not sure what changed. Omelette was still decent but I won't be going back :( read more

She was accommodating and confirmed they could make me a dairy free breakfast . I ordered the traditional breakfast plate with sausage, scrambled eggs and breakfast potatoes. I also ordered a banana and an oat milk latte. They use Monin brand syrup in their lattes, though I did not order a sweetened coffee. I was there at 930a on a Monday and there were only a handful of people in the cafe. And another handful of people in and out ordering and picking up takeout orders. They were steadily working. Customer Service: First in class hospitality. I'd come back just to give Jane a hug. Ambiance: it's in an office building lobby but the it's BRAND NEW, modern, comfy furniture. It's also cozy and welcoming, and very clean. This would be a great place to study or bring your laptop and get some work done. Food: Definitely grab and go/casual quality but also seemed to be made with a lot of love. Big portions. I did not have a bagel but they looked divine! Price: Prices seemed very reasonable by todays standards. My latte was HUGE. My order total was right around $20. I asked the nice woman working what her name was and she let me know, "Jane" she seemed to really enjoy interacting with people, she knew peoples names who came in, and was incredibly warm.
