Based on first impressions I originally thought this place would rank more stars but there were several things that was a missed. I ordered matzoh ball soup and the waitress brought out chicken noodle soup instead. Asked for fries well done, they were not. Turkey burger was dry. The half roast chicken was still pink, not fully cooked near the thigh, leg and breast bone. The bill was incorrect, charged dinner price instead of lunch special price. The food comes out too fast. You place an order, the waitress goes into the kitchen and within minutes out comes the food. It wasn't even enough time to cook things fresh. It makes me wonder if things are partially cooked and just heated up or held in steam tables? Portions are huge but if the quality isn't good enough why bother.

The Olympic Diner has one of the most creative menus I've seen at a diner! Today for lunch, I had their French Onion soup--topped with a crispy onion ring, loaded with fresh mozzarella, and packed with caramelized onions. Such a fun twist on a classic! The cubed bread was just okay, but the soup itself was excellent. I've been here several times before, and my favorite menu item is the Lemon Blue Stack pancakes--fluffy, studded with fresh blueberries, and topped with house-made lemon whipped cream. Absolutely delicious and so unique! My server today, Elena, was wonderful. She greeted me right away, brought the menu promptly, and took my order with a genuine smile. She made me feel like I was her only customer--but honestly, every server I've had here treats me the same way. It was noisy today, but I expected that with the lunch crowd. If you're looking for creative diner food with consistently great service, I highly recommend the Olympic Diner.

Our server Sydney was excellent. The food is always cooked perfectly fresh and they served the largest portions. Every time I come to town, I have to visit the diner. The seating area is large and clean. The ambience is Diner traditional.

2.5 start but rounding up to 3 because I am feeling generous. Stopped here after visiting Tanger Outlets for a quick lunch. Typical diner vibes. It has a pretty outside area with a pond and nice landscaping. The service was pretty good but the food was slightly disappointing. I ordered the Rustic Chicken Panini - it was "OK" taste-wise, but it came out basically deconstructed (see photo) and the bread was soggy. The Tuna Wrap was pretty tasty (better than the panini). One thing to note is that the portions are HUGE, so it was a shame that the food wasn't up to par. I've been to much better diners, so Olympic doesn't quite fit the bill for us.

That's a long time to be on hold

The food and portions are good and in person service is super quick but this is a long time to be on hold. This has been a reoccurring experience recently

Simple diner. No frills or thrills. Food comes out hot and fresh. Service is standard. Not much else to say. Reliable. No complaints at all

It's been a few years, and many more pumpkin waffles have been consumed, and we still consider this our favorite diner on the island. The food is exceptional, and the service is top notch. We'd like to give special shout out here to our designated server Sam. For well over a decade now, this man has been sending us off with a smile on our faces. Looking forward to many more visits in the coming year.

Bacon, mushroom burger with jalepenos, cheese and a heaping amount of onion rings.

Price - $30 (appetizer, entree, beverage (free refills), tip) Food - 4/5 - solid food, huge amount. Service - 3/5 - solid, nothing beyond. Ambiance - 3/5 - typical diner feel. Overall - 3/5 - solid diner and that is all it is. Food tasted like a diner, got diner service, and diner vibes. Only thing worth noting is you will get a massive amount of food. Ordered fish and chips and received a pretty size-able salad along with it, 5 pieces of fish, not to mention the additional pasta salad and other small sides (pasta salad was pretty bad IMO). Overall if you are hungry and looking to eat diner food, this is a good stop. Aside from that, nothing worth going out of your way for. Best Dish - nothing to note

Babylon…read more It doesn't get too crowded on weekends and you can usually get a parking spot in the lot surrounding the restaurant. We've been here usually late Saturday morning for brunch and breakfast is served all day. Whether you're looking for some bacon & eggs, omelets, pancakes or a cheeseburger deluxe, you'll find it on their expansive menu. There's even a whole page of chicken sandwiches! Since this is a Greek diner, you'll also find gyro & souvlaki, along with 2-3 soups of the day and they rotate depending on the day of the week. If they have any of my favorites, Cream of Turkey, Split Pea or New England Clam Chowder, I'll always get a cup of soup to start. The daily lunch specials include a variety of different sandwiches and wraps, as well. You can't wrong with a burger deluxe, complete with lettuce, tomato & French Fries. Feel free to ask to substitute home fries, curly fries or sweet potato fries. If I'm in the mood for breakfast, even in the afternoon or evening, I like over easy eggs on corned beef hash with the yolks running over the hash, along with sides of home fries and toast. My wife will usually go for an omelet and she'll get a Farmer's, Western or customizes her own. She likes to get grits as her breakfast side instead of home fries. And if I get a sandwich or burger, she usually steals my pickle O.o, but I secretly stash the bonus onion ring for myself.

Service - 4/5 - went above whats needed. Ambiance - 4/5 - nice vibe and decorated nicely. Overall - 3/5 - ok spot. Service and ambiance were better than expected but food was sub par. Food was pretty lackluster even for a diner. Onion rings were ok, chicken tenders were like every other cheap restaurants. Ordered the Chinese pork roast sandwich and was a total disappointment. Also did not give extras like other diners do. Only saving grace was Banana Silver Dollar pancakes. Service did go above, water was always full, chef and waiter helped get us an order they don't normally do. They went above what was needed. Inside was decorated really nicely, felt very festive and upbeat. Was not expecting that. If food wasn't sub par, would definitely be worth a stop. Everyone stated how great everything tasted! I ordered the Cobb omelette which had bacon, avocado and cheddar and it was delicious! I have a medical condition called PKU, where I can't break down protein like everyone else. I've eaten at this diner for as long as i've been in farmingdale, and at most restaurants, french fries are usually the only things i can eat when going out because of it being gluten free and lower in protein. Their fries were the only things i was able to eat there, but I can't anymore because the fries are coated in some sort of breading, which is dangerous for me to eat. I know many other people who are disappointed with this, and especially others who are gluten free or have extremely strict dietary restriction/requirements. It's really sad that I can't eat here anymore when places i can eat at are so scarce. The fact that the recipe change wasn't made known to us was very disappointing as well. No harm is meant from this.. I just wanted to put it out there.
