My wife and I are very picky when it comes to our breakfast omelettes. In fact, we tried almost every breakfast place in Huntington Village and not one omelette lived up to our standards, until we came to Golden Globe Diner. The omelettes were fresh, flavorful, and a really nice size -- you could tell they used quality ingredients. Everything was cooked perfectly and came out hot. I stooped in for a glass of water because it so hot outside riding my bike. I haven't been in here for years. The waitress Dawn recognized me from a long time ago. I was on my bike and decided to come back in and have some lunch I ordered the Flounder with Rice and Spinach.The Flounder was fresh my Spinach was cooked to perfection and the Rice was good with a little bite. I added extra lemon and a few slices of butter.It was awsome! My waitress was friendly . She hasn't changed at all. She helped me order my food. Nice portions. read more

Whatever real and/or imaginary controversy there might have been related to this great downtown Huntington diner, there's no denying that they've continued to be a comfortable, convenient, non-pretentious choice in an overflow of foo-foo/"fancy pants" choices in often over the top trendy Huntington. Come here for good, reliable diner choices, ESPECIALLY breakfast, and you'll avoid the wait at a lot of the other nearby "cool" spots. We came in around 1pm on a Saturday and decided to sit indoors. Outside seating is available, but it was toooooooo hot to go for that option. My friend ordered eggs benedict, which looked amazing and she agreed was "wonderful!!" I'm dinging one star because my Greek spinach pie was not quite what I was hoping for... It was a bit "smooshed," and didn't have the wonderful layers of filo dough I had hoped for (almost seemed like a spinach pie "burrito,") but my Greek salad was amazing, the stuffed grape leaves an added bonus, and I had plenty left over for later. Quick, friendly service, pricey by my new-found Ohio standards, but probably the same or more reasonable than the trendy spots we bypassed. Never felt rushed, and the "bottomless" coffee refills were well-appreciated. I love a good diner, and MISS them when I'm back home in Ohioooooooooo!!! read more

This is a hidden gem! We were very hesitant to be seated as there were only 5 patrons there on a Friday night....so glad we did! Our kids wanted burgers while in Huntington to pick up daddy so we yelped as we always did & came across a place name Burgerology. The wait would be an hour but our kids were very hungry so a friend suggested this diner.... his disclaimer was don't be upset if it turns out not good LOL The waitress was very friendly! This is an absolute gem and a must-stop-in restaurant for any meal but es for dinner! we had the grilled shrimp dinner with freshly mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach with garlic, and a great salad with Greek Olives, and my husband had the Spinach salad with bacon. The flavors were perfect and the service was even better, from the warm greeting and efficient order-taking, the fast delivery of food, a wonderful chat with the owner who mingled with all of us. After the dinner, we had a fabulous tiramisu layered cake that was out of this world. If you anywhere near Huntington or Cold Springs Harbor, make sure to have a meal at the Golden Globe Diner especially if you have family with you- very comfortabl, quiet, and fabulous food. read more

WOW WOW WOW Incredible. let me start off by saying there are many Diners between my residence and Golden Globe Diner, we went there not expecting much, only because it seems that most food establishments have many challenges. Upon entering we were immediately greeted and seated, the place appeared to be nice at this point. Server was pleasant from start to finish THANK YOU Water was constantly being topped off from a different person Had a Large Bacon cheeseburger deluxe and my wife d corned beef on a wrap. Food was unbelievable. Tasty and filling. The ultimate bonus was when Peter the owner came over to us and asked how everything was. What a wonderful business operator. We had dinner at this diner for the first time in years. Had one of the best "diner" experiences in a long time. Not only is the menu extensive, but everything that our group of 8 ordered was absolutely delicious. Bowls of appetizers were brought out before we even ordered. It was a very nice touch and different from the usual pickles and coleslaw. The owner made sure that he came over to our table and introduced himself. We could not have had more attentive service and a more pleasant experience. We plan on making this our new favorite eatery. read more

Our Memorial Day plans were rained out, so we stopped in for lunch. Last visit for dinner, we had the hamburger platter, which was big and fresh, not a frozen "hockey puck"and the chicken souvlaki platter with a ton of greek salad and fries. Today, Dawn brought us three fav apps: coleslaw, beets and macaroni salad! So good! We love the generous apps! We ordered Roast Turkey with corn and mashed potatoes and the Meatloaf/fries/ broccoli and each came with choice of soup or salad. After having the apps and Greek Salad and Chicken Rice Soup(also, large!), we were full before the entrees. We came here for years when my children were little, and it was Golden Dolphin. We learned that the chef is still the same and the server, Dawn, has been there for 20 years! I suggest you try it and you will love it too. We first came here in Jan and we have been here many times since for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I was here for brunch with a group a few months ago. Even though the diner was full, service was attentive and food was so plentiful; we all took home food for later. This is your traditional diner that makes all the comfort dishes well. It's easy when you and your party can each get what they crave. It's especially comforting when you're able to make dietary requests and they make sure to abide by them. The owner is friendly and enjoys meeting the diners and Dawn is the dream server every restaurateur wishes they had . A tasty bonus is that they serve delicious apps gratis for the table. Went there today with a friend. It was so clean. The food was so fresh. I will definitely be a regular. I have to say that years ago he was so unfairly treated. I know this place has had a sketchy past, but we have eaten here several times recently and each time the food is very good. The prices are not cheap- but they seem typical for a diner. All our food was fresh and tasty. My tuna sandwich was huge and came with the most delicious beets I think I have ever had. The cole slaw was yummy as well. The place was pretty empty which is actually a plus these days. I highly recommend. read more
