Our ceremony was in November so we had an indoor ceremony in the chapel area and loved the reception area. We had such a beautiful ceremony! The bridal suite was perfect and had plenty of room for everyone to get dressed in one area and have hair/makeup done in the other. The grooms room was far enough away to make sure no one peaked until it was time. We also had such beautiful grounds to take pictures in. It was too cold and rainy for an outdoor gazebo ceremony. But the pictures we took there are going to be magical. We didn't really have to do too too much to the venue itself for decorating because there is so much natural charm and beauty to the venue. I also have to mention the exclusive catering company, Wooden Spoon. I was nervous to have them as our only option but we had the most delicious meal and received sooo many compliments. Tyler was able to work within our budget and not make it feel like we compromised at all. They also have an awesome rental room with so many decor pieces that we didn't have to worry about bringing with us or taking out of the space. The location is so beautiful and the premises really felt quaint and homey, not formal and stuffy like some venues. And then there were things that no other venue offered, like the boat on the lake for some fantastic photos! I think the bonus was that it was probably the least expensive place they looked at. Deedee's not in it to make bank; she does it because she has a beautiful place that she wants others to enjoy on their special day. We booked Song River for our wedding reception and Quyen (the owner) was so helpful from the very beginning. Im an overwhelmed bride, and only child with no siblings, and my mother has Dementia so i was doing it all alone. I never had my wedding planned from a young age so I was completely lost and scared where to begin and wanted something easy. Quyen was there to guide me and literally wipe the tears from my face (I got overwhelmed and cried). We booked the space from 11am to 11pm and Quyen sent over an amazing detailed guide to help plan my wedding and reception. I chose one of her pre-selected decorations options and it turned out so beautiful. I believe the package was called "the silk" i cant recall but it was worth it. All lights and decorations are fully customizable and we chose to go with white table linens/chairs and blue/purple lights. Vendors were a BREEZE, as she let's you bring anyone so long as they are licensed and insured. But dont stress because Quyen has a list of vendors she has worked with that know the space, we ended up choosing one from that list for food and bar and purchased the beer/wine to save some $$$. Venues are expensive but Song River is very affordable in today's market, and honestly worth so much more with how beautiful, large, and customizable the space is. Quyen is professional, kind, and knowledgeable, you will want her on your team and you will want to book this space. 10/10 amazing experience and memorable reception!

The first time I did my tour here, I immediately clicked with Angela ---- she is so down to earth, knows her stuff and open to any and all ideas. The rooms were great (my bridesmaids used the castle) and groomsmen used the cottage. Both great locations and so spacious to get ready in. Nothing felt crowded and everyone could have their own space (we had 10 people total in the bridal party)! Now to talk about the wedding: 1. Highly encourage hiring Angela as the day of coordinator (she was efficient, great communicating with vendors, so talented in decorating for the wedding and one of the things we loved is Angela was great at checking in with everyone during the wedding but also never stepped on any toes. I had many family members comment on how they appreciated her thoughtfulness throughout the day checking in). 2. Parking was great and easy! Plenty of room for everyone. 3. Stay the night! It was great finishing the wedding and just being able to go into the castle and enjoy the night together. The venue is so beautiful and it was nice to stay and take in all the sights. 4. ​The castle itself is undeniably beautiful and full of potential, but our experience was completely…read moreruined by severe infrastructure failures, host misrepresentations, and invasive privacy violations. ​While the estate, scenery, and medieval decor look incredible in photos and upon arrival, the actual living conditions and host management were unacceptable. ​No Running Water / Severe Well Defect: During our stay, the running water completely shut off, leaving my family without working toilets, showers, or sinks. As we later learned, the entire 18-acre property relies on a low-yield private well that recharges at only 30 gallons per hour. Multi-Listing Overcapacity: Despite having a low-yield well, the host operates 5 separate rental units on-site (the Castle, a Cottage, and 3 vintage campers) plus an on-site caretaker residence, potentially housing 15-20 occupants at once. Providing a maximum total of 720 gallons per day for 15+ people is physically insufficient for basic living, leading to inevitable water outages. ​Undisclosed Audio Recording: Following our report of the water issue, the host admitted in writing to reviewing video playback and listening to private audio recorded of my children on the drawbridge. Neither the listing description nor disclosures stated that devices captured audio: a major privacy breach and a violation of Washington State law. When confronted about the water outage, the host attempted to blame guests, claiming in the chat thread that "the tub takes 300+ gallons per bath." According to EPA and plumbing standards, an indoor 2-person spa tub holds 60 to 80 gallons. Exaggerating water capacity by 300%+ to cover up structural well limitations shows a complete lack of honesty and transparency. After being informed of state privacy rules regarding undisclosed audio recording, the host cut off communication and blocked us, rather than addressing the habitability issues in good faith.The property may look like a fairytale from the outside, but operating 5 separate listings on an inadequate water system, combined with illegal audio recording and retaliatory charges, made this stay stressful and unacceptable. I strongly advise future guests to exercise caution before booking.
