Absolutely the best nail salon on the UES. Everyone was incredibly nice and helpful. The services were both impeccable. I got a pedicure and a gel manicure and both were priced very reasonably. They were patient enough with me when I couldn't decide what to choose for my gel color and recommended several colors they thought I would like. I'll be honest: they did a great job with my gel manicure. My nails look amazing and I can't stop looking at them. They also have a good selection of gel colors, which I was happy about. The reason I'm giving this place 4 stars is because they refused to redeem the Yelp check in offer, so they would not take $10 off the transaction. I was frustrated because I chose to go to Om for the sole purpose of redeeming the Yelp offer, otherwise I would have gone elsewhere. Honestly not sure why the ratings are so high.. They don't do designs, the polish is bulbous on my nails (not a good look), and they hardly speak English. I will say that the color is nice and the lady who applied it was meticulous, making sure there were no smudges or dings. She gave me a massage for no charge (about thirty seconds to a minute long). To me, though, that doesn't really make up for not doing designs. I'd give it a shot if you have some extra time (like lots of time) and only want one color. read more

She took great care into making my manicure perfect, commented nicely on my skin, and gave a heavenly massage when I was drying my nails. A quaint little place, only $10 for a manicure. If she work here,i don't mind to come all the way down. I really want to know my Nancy or not, if she from Tibet & speak English fluently, that means my girl. Her jobs very neat n clean, massage she know the point, fake nails unbelievable, she is super fast in waxing plus less pain. I keep ask for her boss, how many days Nancy work here, Chinese boss replied 3 days. Which days she is here? her boss I don't know. Omg her response is terrible. They are so nice and patient! As soon as I walked in, the staff here was very attentive from helping me pick a color to doing my gel manicure. She took her time with my gel manicure, which I don't mind at all. My biggest pet peeve is when nail places rush through a gel manicure job and it looks crappy after a day or so and it doesn't last. Amazing place! After being new to the UES I was bouncing around to a few different nail places. When I found this place I was thrilled. Very clean, such nice staff, reasonable price, and the pedicure chairs have a massager (not all places do!!). I got a pedi and gel mani and was very impressed. I was thrilled when Betty opened up her own salon since I was always so glad when she was available to do my mani-pedi at the prior salon. She's kind, proficient and professional and has selected others who she's known from other salons to join her. I haven't been disappointed yet. The salon is sparkling clean (obviously a priority for her) and intimate. And, I never feel rushed, which is so important to me. I used to work right around the corner, but even now after this job ended, and with me living in Brooklyn, I still believe I will travel all the way to the Upper East Side to get my nails done here. Friendly staff, very accommodating and welcoming, and, here we go, gentle! The owner of the salon even allowed me to have my gel manicure finished the following day, since I was running out of time the first time around. That was just the icing to the cake! Love this place. I also feel (and hopefully I'm right with that) that the employees are treated well and that the work environment is made comfortable for them, which doesn't apply to many nail salons. I was just a walk in today for an "emergency" French manicure. The owner was wonderful! She helped me pick out colors and even let me see what they would look like on my skin tone. Given my schedule, she suggested gel for me- which was a first time for me. She explained the benefits and possible harm, but for an event it seemed perfect. She is warm & personable and so is her staff. She even managed to keep my boyfriend at ease while they beautified his nails. Highly recommended place! read more

I came here twice both times to get gel manicures and pedicures. I will say the mini-massage they give you at the end is spectacular! However, my first gel manicure literally wrinkled while under their UV light. They just painted over it and said they didn't know what was. The second time I went was with a different person and right after leaving I felt it was a fine experience but the next day one of my nails chipped. After being gentle with it for one more day, the gel started peeling back super easy. It was getting caught in my hair so I pulled on it and it popped right off without struggle. Then I tested all the other nails. All but one came off without much effort. I won't be coming back. read more

I am giving them four stars because I usually have to wait (even when I make an appointment) and there have been a few times I was burned (by accident) from their waxing. I've been trying to find a good nail salon since I moved to this area. After visiting three different salons within a couple block radius, I finally came to Om and I have to say that this is the best nail salon out of all the others I've been to. I went in for a mani/pedi with a friend. We sat down and someone started on me and told my friend someone would be in to do hers in just a bit. Over 45 minutes later she finished my pedicure, no one had arrived to start my friends, and I no longer had time to stay to have my manicure done. Then when I went to pay she told me it was $24, just $1 less than the full mani/pedi, and told me she couldn't give me any type of discount. My friend was unable to get a service at all. There was another worker who was already giving a pedicure when we arrived, and she finished even after i was done. They were very slow with poor customers service! read more

I made an appointment through this app called Snailz which was extremely easy to use, I really enjoyed just being able to walk in and not have to wait to get my nails done. The staff was all really friendly and sweet which is a huge bonus for me while I get my nails done. The polish on both my nails and toes have held up for its first week surprisingly well. Much to the shock of all my friends and colleagues (and all the ladies at Om Nails & Spa) I have never gotten a manicure or pedicure in my 23 years (gasp!). I recently gave up my horrible habit of nail-biting and decided to treat myself with my first mani/pedi, and I am SO happy I chose to go to Om! The salon is a clean and friendly environment, and in my opinion they have the best mani/pedi weekday deal in the UES ($27). Betty did both my manicure and pedicure, and I cannot rave enough for what a great job she did! She is extremely nice and I loved chatting with her. I have gross runner's feet and really short toe nails, but she still managed to make my feet and toes look and feel amazing! Same goes for my manicure; I naturally have short nail beds and nails, but Betty still was able to shape them such that they look longer than they are and the quality of the manicure was perfection!
