    Mango martini
    Anne F.

A wanted to try this place since it's been a while since we had Indian food. Food was good and service was good. It wasn't very busy inside so it was quiet. We both got drinks. A got the mango martini which was amazing and I got some sort of mango lassi with alcohol which wasn't very good. It was too rum forward I think. Food wise, I got the chicken curry, A got the chicken tikka masala, and naan. The curry was well seasoned and spiced. It was cooked perfectly and not too spicy. A's tikka masala was also very flavorful and seasoned well. He liked it a lot. However, it is a bit pricey and while he did like his dish, A wasn't too impressed by it. He said it didn't blow him away. So this is a maybe I'll go back place but only for special occasions.

2nd time coming here and there is always space to get seated right away. Service is fast and staff is very helpful with recommendations. My go to favorites are the butter chicken and lamb korma. Always order a side of Garlic Naan.

Came here for date night with my boyfriend for dinner on a Friday night and made a reservation through OpenTable. The service was really great -- super friendly and attentive staff willing to answer our questions about the food and menu items. We got the samosas (comes with 2) and the Tandoori Panir to start. Both were good but I preferred the samosas. Overall, the food was good I just thought my chicken tikka masala was a bit dry. But overall, great portion and value. You just have to order the naan separately but the entrees come with a side of rice. I will also say the draft from the door opening and closing made dining a little uncomfortable but maybe I'd grab a seat further away from the door next time. Thank you!

Some initial impressions: - I love how spinach forward the palak paneer is here (i.e. you can really taste the spinach) - in their curries, they slice their chicken kind of thin (I think I prefer morsels of meat rather than thin slices). - Food comes out lightening fast - Service is super friendly and helpful BYOB with a very reasonable $10 corking fee (corking fee has to be paid in cash). There's an ATM at the bodega next door in case. Solid neighborhood Indian spot that I would gladly come back to!

I was really excited to try this place. Their "OM Special" is a great deal. You can get an appetizer, entree, basmati rice, and naan bread for $18.95. However, the food itself wasn't that great. I liked the flavor of the chicken tikka, but the chicken itself wasn't very good. The basmati rice tasted like some type of cleaner and was inedible. The naan was just okay. I wanted to like this place, but it just wasn't it.

It's not my favorite Indian restaurant in the UES. The food is very spicy even when I ask for mild options.

We happened to be dining there during a World Cup game so there was a TV on in the back (not sure if that's their usual setup). I ordered the chicken tandoori (bone-in), my SO got the chicken tikka masala, and we shared a garlic naan. I got a masala chai to drink and my SO just stuck to water. We did not have to wait too long for the food. My chicken tandoori came out on a sizzling plate with a side of rice. The chicken was so tender, juicy, and flavorful. I ate the slices of onion on the sizzling plate with the chicken and rice. The garlic naan was nice and hot, crisp on the outside, studded with plenty of garlic, and soft and chewy on the inside. It was good for sopping up the chicken tikka masala sauce. My SO felt that my bone-in chicken tasted better than the chicken that came with the tikka masala, so he would consider ordering one of the other bone-in options next time (butter chicken (bone-in) or chef's special chicken (bone-in) biryani). Service was attentive. The servers refilled our water several times and checked on how we liked our dishes. We didn't have dessert this time, but we might next time we come because there will definitely be a next time.

The restaurant felt homey and I could tell there were many regulars and other return visitors, for good reason! Ordered: Masala Chai ($4.50)- this tasted authentic, was nicely spiced, and wasn't too sweet. I only wish the cup was bigger. Steamed momo ($12+)- I like how you have the option to mix and match. We ordered the mixed vegetable and the oyster mushroom and surprisingly I much preferred the oyster mushroom variety. The mixed vegetable momo tasted more earthy to me. Himalayan rice set ($20.5)- this was a very nice assortment- there was rice, lentil dal, your protein of choice- (I chose beef brisket), stir fried cabbage, broccoli rabe, pickled vegetables and crisp flatbread. The only downside in my opinion was that the brisket wasn't too tender and I didn't love the beef flavoring or preparation. The rest of the items were so delicious! I've been thinking about this meal ever since I left the restaurant. You don't want to skip this place.

I barely had time to enjoy my dinner before feeling pressured to finish. To make matters worse, as we were preparing to leave, I went to use the restroom and was told by the manager that it was closed. Considering that I had just spent over $100 on dinner, I found that response both surprising and unacceptable. I work in the food and beverage industry, so I understand the challenges of restaurant operations and always try to be respectful and understanding. I was polite throughout the evening, yet I felt like I was treated as an inconvenience rather than a paying guest. To be fair, the food itself was excellent. However, great food cannot make up for poor hospitality. Based on my experience, I would not recommend dining at this location. The behavior of the staff was unacceptable and fell far below the standard of service I would expect from a professional restaurant.
