    yaki rice bowl

Ate in 2022: I had the Yaki Rice Bowl which came with chicken teriyaki, jasmine rice, vegetables, pickled carrots & radish, and this spicy mayo sauce I think. I couldn't even finish this since it was so sweet. I wished it was more savory. The portion, though, is pretty huge so that's a plus.

Cute name for a cart! Got the steak bowl during a catered event- the bowl was flavorful and a good size portion. The pickled veggies were my favorite part, and helped cut through the richness of the two sauces really well. Steak was a bit chewy but was plentiful. Always nice to see Asian fusion halal carts, and would def give this cart a try again if I encounter it in the wild!

Ordered: Yaki Rice Bowl (~$15) + Steak (+$3): signature Chicken teriyaki on white rice with Chinese veggies, pickled carrots and radish topped with Chipotle Mayo and Teriyaki sauce Aya's take: Okay, wow. I've always heard good things about Terry and Taki but I didn't know it was going to be THAT good. Everything about this bowl was perfect. The Chicken & Steak teriyaki had a phenomenal teriyaki flavor - a good blend of soy sauce & sugar - the right balance of savory and sweet you would expect with either meat option. The rice was soft, fluffy, and soaked up all the juices from the sauces. The Chinese veggies and pickled carrots and radish gave this dish the fresh element it needed to bring it all together. I can't believe how good this was! Decently priced, good portion, and great flavor. Highly recommend!

    Best menu in town!

Freddy and Avraham make the best teriyaki signature chicken, vegan tofu bowl and sirloin steak in the block. They got the lock down on this joint y'hear. Excellent customer service. Very accommodating. Always friendly always polite. Give them some your business they'll have a restaurant one day and you'll have all the bragging rights. "I knew them when they was just a cart!"

Terry and Yaki offers an excellent selection of high quality food. Today I happened to be in town and my friend told me about this halal food festival in Nassau County and I was mind blown about the Muslim community that came together for a cause and spread so much love and support for one another. Terry and Yaki made its way to my heart when I gave their steak bowl a try. First and foremost, I would like to give a shout out to the workers that came and served THOUSANDS of hungry customers and especially being halal. You guys did an amazing job! Their steak bowl came with veggies, delicious rice and SIRLOIN STEAK. The yum yum sauce that they served on top of the steak worked perfectly because it tasted like your ordinary hibachi spot. Terry and Yaki also have chicken bao buns that are to die for. Soft bun with a fried crispy chicken with pickled onions and yum yum sauce, definitely finger licking good.

This has become my go-to spot for Teriyaki ! Definitely tops the other food trucks in the area. I always order myself the Yaki Rice Bowl and it's soo delicious. The food tastes fresh and all of the ingredients and sauces go super well together. Great portions and the prices are fair. It's also Halal ! Highly recommend this spot if you're craving something to eat around Hunter College. The guys working at the cart are nice as well.

Good food and some of the tastiest steak bowls I've ever eaten, the chipotle mayo and teriyaki sauce makes this place so iconic that even if it's almost 7 miles from me Id still come.

Delicious fresh chicken teriyaki rice bowl for just $8. The bowl comes with pickled carrots, Chinese broccoli, juicy chunks of chicken teriyaki drizzled with spicy mayo and sesame seeds. The meat is also halal. They also offer the bowl as a salad, tofu teriyaki, and chicken teriyaki with sweet potato fries.

Conversation in Instagram with Terry and Taki

This is yet the best cart food I have ever had. I should've wrote a review long time ago but didn't have time. Anyway, I been eating the Yaki rice bowl for the past 3 months. Every time I get it, it just gets better. There is one time where the rice was soggy. I talked to them about it in Instagram just to let them know. I wasn't expecting to have a reply or a solution to anything. However, they provided me a free bowl. Terry and Yaki, I accept your offer but I'm not gonna use it. You have gotten my respect to you guys. Todays bowl was great as well

UES's top vegetarian lunch: vegan tofu bowl. Vegan teriyaki tofu served on rice, with chinese vegetables and pickled carrots.

Good food cart. Decent quality chicken and vegetables. Rice is tasty. Commensurate pricing with area. Good ratio of meat to rice.

The pad thai noodles are a big thinner than i've had before but that didn't bother me, it has such great flavor too. I recommend ordering it spicy, it's the perfect heat if you're looking for that kick but don't add it if you can't handle spice. The drunken noodles are not spicy in my opinion but i can handle a bit of heat. Loved the flavor and the noodles had the right texture, could've done without the huge chunks of tomato but great otherwise. The summer rolls were good, hard to mess those up. We also got a free mango salad with the order and that was so fresh and delicious. We just popped in for pick up but the hostess was really nice and attentive as soon as we walked in. It looked to be a nice casual spot, could be good for dinner with friends or date night.

Food: Heres what I've tried. Fried chicken wings with lemongrass sauce--- Topped with cilantro, Thai ginger chips, and fresh mint leaves--so flavorful it goes straight to the bones. Perfectly sized, not too big or too small. OMG, it was really, really good. The aroma alone is already mouthwatering, and the umami is just next level. Grilled jumbo tiger shrimp (18 for 2 pcs)-- A bit firm for my liking--I felt they were slightly overcooked--but still very savory and rich in flavor. Mango Salad--- A refreshing twist on the usual mango salad. It has avocado, which makes it stand out, and it's less saucy than most versions. A great, clean, and balanced salad I'd definitely order again.

If our friends took too long we'd just start eating, but for now we were happy to sit, have drinks, and wait. Even after that, she still seemed hesitant to seat us, which was a little annoying, although I understand that policies are policies. Once we finally sat down, things got more frustrating because staff came over three or four times reminding us that we only had an hour and 30 minutes to dine. At first it felt like genuine concern since some of our friends were still arriving and they wanted to make sure everyone had enough time to eat. But after a while it started feeling less like concern and more like pressure to hurry up and leave, especially considering the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. From what I could tell there wasn't a crowd outside waiting to get in either. The mood definitely shifted once they realized we were a large party ordering plenty of food and drinks. Our bill ended up being just under $1,000, and it honestly felt like once they saw we weren't going to camp out over a couple of cocktails and were actually spending money, the energy changed completely. That part was a little irritating. That said, our server was genuinely very polite. Even while giving us the occasional "just so you know, you have this much time left" reminder, he remained friendly throughout the night. At the end he told us that if everyone left a Google review we'd each get a free drink, which was kind of funny because suddenly nobody seemed too concerned about the time limit anymore, especially since it took a while for those drinks to come out. Still, this place is gorgeous, very swanky, and the food is packed with flavor. Despite the awkward start and the constant reminders about the clock, we ended up having a really good time. It's definitely a unique and welcome addition to Hell's Kitchen.

Best way to describe this is luxe Asian or bougie Chinese. If you are fan of top Chef it would be called soigné. We had three of the hot apps, Foie gras, lobster shumai with caviar and morel mushroom with spinach crystal dumplings. After that we're deciding between the quail and beef tenderloin wok dishes. Since the quail was spicy went with tenderloin which came with small serving of rice. All the food was great. I felt the crystal dumpling needed a kicked and they brought Out there house soy and hot vinegar sauce. For drinks I tried there mix of a classic martini with an old fashioned and after discussions with there somm who nicely recommended a more affordable bottle that would meet our needs got the Chardonnay by glass as a bottle. Enjoyed the meal though likely spent 5 times what usually spend on Chinese place mainly due to cost of alcohol. Place is well designed with a look similar to Butter downtown with the arched ceiling mixed with with the sound dampening feature of similar design of bar Boulod. Will return to try the quail and the lobster spring rolls and if they keep to this standard will increase rating to 5.

The beef fried rice was delicious and came in a generous portion size, making it easy to share. The chicken wontons were also well prepared and packed with flavor. The standout dish for me, though, was the ginger beef noodles. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the beef was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Easily my favorite item of the night and something I'd order again without hesitation. Service was another bright spot. The staff was attentive throughout the evening, and our servers were always quick to help whenever we needed anything. Even with the restaurant being busy, they stayed on top of everything. The one disappointment was the truffle fries. I've had better truffle fries at small neighborhood spots. They lacked both the flavor and presentation I'd expect from a restaurant at this price point, especially compared to how strong the rest of the meal was. Overall: Brooklyn Chop House delivered a fun atmosphere, great service, and some standout dishes. Between the energy of the crowd, the ginger beef noodles, and the attentive staff, it was a memorable experience. Just skip the truffle fries and put that money toward another appetizer or cocktail.

The restaurant definitely has a cool vibe and is very clean. Our server, Ivo, was amazing from the start; prompt and friendly service. For starters we shared the oxtail spring rolls, spare ribs, and lobster spoons. Joe said it best when he said "I don't want any other oxtail. The spring rolls were tender and flavorful and I loved the dipping sauce they came with. Those ribs?! *chefs kiss* we must have made a scene while eating them because as another table was leaving, they stopped to ask us how the ribs were and the regret they had after seeing them arrive at our table. Now, those lobster spoons?? Mm mm MM! The beurre blanc the lobster sat in was buttery and super tasty, but that wasn't even the best lobster dish I ended up having. My our entrees I got the Sei Less Signature Lobster Noodles and Joe got the Filet Mignon and Broccoli. Good lord those noodles were delicious. They used thick udon, the WHOLE lobster, and the sauce that everything sat in was so rich. I also couldn't get over how beautiful this dish was. Joe's filet was exactly what you'd expect; tender and full of flavor. This is what you wish they could serve when you order beef and broccoli at your local Chinese spot lol! & you know we always have to end with a little treat. We kept it modest and went with the yuzu cheesecake served with a lychee ice cream. The lychee ice cream was such a nice mild balance to the richness of the cheesecake. There was also a yummy brittle served with the dessert that gave a nice bite to the whole dish. Simple delicious. I know this will not be our last visit.
