    Lamb Vindaloo

Super fresh and good Indian food! The garlic naan was one of the best I ever had, the butter chicken and lamb kebab was also bussinnn! Server was very friendly and nice, she answered all our questions. We also ordered goat vindaloo which was great, chicken biryani was great too, would recommend this place if you're looking for good Indian food, the flavor is

I live on the block so I always walk by this spot. Tried them once a while ago and it was fine but nothing special. Ordered again tonight and same thing. My order was almost $40 and I don't really think worth that. I ordered the lamb sliders and only got 2 and I believe the order was $11. The bread was stale and the burgers weren't very seasoned. The sauce overwhelmed the meat if it was seasoned. The Masala fries were honestly good but I wish they came with a sauce. I was excited about the goat cheese and spinach kulcha but didn't get much goat cheese flavor. When I walked in to pick up, the man at the desk let me keep talking before walking away because he wasn't the person who could help me so it felt very awkward. Every time I walk past, it's always empty or maybe one table sat. I used to see more delivery drivers stopping there but not as much anymore. It's fine but I won't be actively seeking it out or recommending it. I understand why my neighbors order elsewhere.

    Lamb Kebab

Taste fine, but the PORTION OF THE FOOD. 16 dollar for 3 tiny bites of MID lamb kebab. Same for the butter chicken, very small portion for the price. Like a snack instead of an entree.

After finally reading their paper menu (not digital) menu, I learned that it's halal and they offer a 10% student, teacher and first responder discount! And a dinner combo. Amazing

FLAMES INDIAN AROMA 165 E 106th St, New York, NY 10029 A family owned restaurant. The owner is a nice Bangladeshi man, who after 31 years, decided to open his own restaurant. That's amazing MashaAllah. Samosa chaat lamb tikka chicken curry (all entrees come with white rice) garlic naan mango lassi

Pakora not impressive. Best of the tandoori platter was chicken tikka. 4 for cleanliness. 3 for flavor- will make do but not amazing.

Food was amazing! The chicken tikka and samosa chaat were so delicious and full of flavor, would definitely recommend ordering. This was our first time visiting and loved everything. Service was great as well. We will be coming back !

Food was extremely flavorful and delicious. Very well seasoned and the portion was decent. The only complaint I have is $4.95 for ice cream should be at least three scoops. I would definitely Order from here again:)

Doordash BOGO for chicken tikka is a scam, the portions are tiny. Also the chicken was very scimpy and the rice was not it.

Yet, for some, the undiscovered remedy is Indian food. Not just any Indian food, but the kind that will make one swear off every last bit of water retained in the body while the brain forgets the hangover in attempts to fight over the insanity of the spice level ordered. Here comes Mughalai for the job. Lunch specials are excellent, offering a few courses to savor the flavors of this small establishment. Some of the best lamb vindaloo out there is found right here. Truly spectacular flavor alongside the intense spice. Wonderful samosas. Mulligatawny soup that does not disappoint. Mughlai is a casual spot that hits every parameter while delivering the kind of flavors that are hard to find outside of India.

Had we known, we would have chosen to dine elsewhere. Unfortunately, the service that followed was extremely disappointing. We felt rushed throughout the entire meal. The lights were turned on and off while we were dining, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere and making it clear that the staff wanted us out as quickly as possible. I barely had time to enjoy my dinner before feeling pressured to finish. To make matters worse, as we were preparing to leave, I went to use the restroom and was told by the manager that it was closed. Considering that I had just spent over $100 on dinner, I found that response both surprising and unacceptable. I work in the food and beverage industry, so I understand the challenges of restaurant operations and always try to be respectful and understanding. I was polite throughout the evening, yet I felt like I was treated as an inconvenience rather than a paying guest. To be fair, the food itself was excellent. However, great food cannot make up for poor hospitality. Based on my experience, I would not recommend dining at this location. The behavior of the staff was unacceptable and fell far below the standard of service I would expect from a professional restaurant.

It wasn't very crowded on this particular night, so I was seated and taken care of pretty quickly. The butter chicken tikka masala was so rich, creamy, and delicious! The one thing that stood out for us was how the staff and patrons all interacted like a family. The wait staff had a true camaraderie and seemed to interact with each other like an well-oiled machine who truly cared about their jobs, the patrons, and one another! How refreshing. As for drinks and food, you likely can't go wrong with any of their menu selections. "Must try" items include the Lemon Dahl -- a.k.a. yellow lentils (trust me; get this) -- the Chicken Tikka, and Seekh Kabab (ground lamb). But every dish we saw come out to nearby tables looked yummy!! I can't wait to go back and try even more dishes! The interior is eclectic and feels cozy! We sat at the bar during our visit, but DM would definitely be great for a date night, too, because it's so intimate feeling inside. Try Drunken Monkey if you are ever in the UES and on the lookout for some unique Indian food! We'll definitely return for another visit soon!

But the workers are very dour, almost as if they rather you not be there. I don't like to feel like I'm bothering or harassing wait staff if I ask for something. The place is also extremely dark. Then it took them forever to bring it-as my food was getting cold, I had to get up and ask for it again. Mind you, there was only three ppl including myself in the whole place-wasn't busy at all. I also asked for the red onion relish which used to be complimentary-they charged for that. Fine, but it shouldn't take all day to bring out. They need a little more decorum!
