Best views of Omaha. The steak was delicious and the service was friendly. Joe, the manager, was a great host.

The Durham Museum is in the old Union Station. I'm glad they were able to preserve the building…read morebecause it really is spectacular. There are many permanent displays about Omaha history, and there are train cars you can walk through; enthusiastic docents are often there to answer any questions. There are temporary exhibits here as well, and in the summers they will have something cool that the whole family will enjoy. There are lots of programs here, many of them free with admission or membership. I do recommend getting a membership if you think you might want to come at least a couple times in a year. And you probably will want to! There is a soda fountain/snack bar area. The ice cream is great! The food is okay. It's a museum and not a lunch destination. The museum is located right next to Omaha's Old Market.

It was built in 1931 in the Art Deco style and designed by LA architect Gilbert Stanley Underwood. The museum has lots of photographs and examples of materials used that would be a delight for all those interested in architecture. Downstairs was the train depot and where you can go inside and sit in the train cars. Most of the rooms appeared to be part of their permanent collection, but part of the downstairs area has rotating exhibits. The exhibit on display was "The Negro Motorist Green Book" which you may be familiar with if you watched the 2018 film "Green Book." I had a great time at the museum and would return, although check the calendar as I went when the NE SciFest going on and I prefer calmer museum visits. Still, definitely would recommend checking it out!

Completely suitable to host a huge wedding, FWIW. The decor includes local Italian culture and pictures of Italy proper. They have a huge kitchen. Restaurant sized. There's a bar on the opposite side of the building. Its events get popular quickly. We always arrive promptly now. The one time we came an hour into the event, the line was across the long parking lot and down the street. It moved quickly enough, though, and we met plenty of very friendly, cheerful folks. Do bring cash, or pray that the ATM inside hasn't been used up! It's a cash feed to get in, and a cash bar. I find this to be of no inconvenience, as they declare this when announcing their events, and happy patrons, like me, further that detail. Well worth the visit. It's a delightful Omaha institution.

I had a terrible surgery and I have lost a lot of weight and nothing tastes very good, except Sons of Italy. God Bless you guys. Shout out to all of the great guys down there. They look like they are having fun. I don't want to give away any of my secrets for parking, but I can always manage to get parked and get my order. I'm getting hungry, just thinking about it. Check out their hours and days, that they serve. Best in Omaha..

And with like-minded people around you, Dry Spokes is a great place for this in the presence of good company. I commend the owners for making this establishment happen. The bar is very chic and cozy, with plenty of space for intimate as well as large gatherings. And the drinks are fantastic - one made such an impact on me that I'm trying to recreate it at home! Kudos to the bartenders who were super friendly and humored our many non-alcoholic noob questions! Until next time

They currently also have the space next door that they use as an event venue (such as open mic the Saturday evening we were there), but that place is available for lease. The decor is nice as well - simple, but cozy with a few couches and some board/card games. Their mocktail menu is huge! There are definitely options to fit every palate. I opted for Collin's Bouquet and Cotton Candy. Both were very good and would highly recommend both. One of the drinks my husband got, the Coconut Cherry Kiss, however, was absolutely delicious! I think it was both of our favorites and one I would get for myself next time for sure. The NA cocktails are definitely not an afterthought here and neither are they just juice full of sugar and more sugar. These are well thought out, have flavor outside of just sweet, and overall are a very good option for anyone who is opting not to drink alcohol, but still doesn't want to miss out on the fun! I'm excited to come back!
