For a company that markets their products with so much hype, I'll say this stuff is straight crap. It's pretty much Aldi quality meat. If I had bought it from a local Walmart, I'd return it. Unfortunately our son thought a variety pack would make a great gift.. We'd have a package of tenderloin steaks, franks, pork chops before but we failed to tell him how disappointed we were with thickness and quality. Keep buying those fresh cut Costco Prime Ribeye steaks and you'll never go wrong.. These are all "show" and "no-go" as the ads don't come close to the actual product in thickness and size. Omaha steak uses fed x ground offered you can buy. I paid 19.00 added to my order of 100.00 was told nothing regarding shipping as I was shipping as a gift to my 87 yr old aunt. Box was sitting at davenport Florida temp 89 degrees the box arrived 2 days after delivery date. Left on the porch no knock no notification. Aunt openned box and found my gift thawed and warm. The quality of their meats is shockingly bad. Everything from the steaks to the burgers to the jumbo franks. Grey colored, bland and rubbery . There's no way they get a majority of their business from repeat customers. Most of their business has to be newbies and corporate giftcards (my situation). I ordered a big gift pkg as a gift for a family member at Xmas. When the filet mignon was consumed, they got very sick for a day and a half. They didn't go to the hospital so we weren't certain if it was food poisoning. The rest of the food was thrown out. Omaha Steaks was very apologetic and refunded the cost of that gift pkg. USELESS CUSTOMER SERVICE, WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. I placed an order well in time for christmas to go to a deserving family so they would have a Christmas dinner. I received a phone call and email saying my card was declined. I called my card and they said there is nothing wrong with my card and any order should have gone through. I then called Omaha steaks directly to place the order, the rep took the card and said it was all processed. 3 days later I get an email saying my delivery date has been revised yet again. NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY. I was out of town for a day and when i returned i had an invoice for the amount due. I was puzzled so I placed a call and was told I would get a call within two hours. This is the 19th of December, I get the call back and the agent was again useless and eventually put me through to a supposed supervisor who told me my card was decined. I received a package from relatives for a Christmas gift. The truth is the sides were fine but the steaks are low quality meat. There is a reason why they don't disclose what grade of beef it is, its because they are using an inferior product and are not excited about exposing it to people. On top of the low grade meat my bacon wrapped filet is several pieces of tenderloin held together by bacon and the pins, put through the meat. This is the case on both filets in my box which makes me believe its standard. They should be using a whole filet and not pieces of tenderloin and passing it off as a steak. Typical grocery store meat is allot better and a higher quality. Its also not frozen, so right off the bat its going to be better. Ordered before I read the reviews. This is a gimmick - why would you buy tiny portions of average meat at exorbitant prices, when you can get a much better deal at your local butcher? The fillet mignons were the size of a postage stamp and the t-bone steaks where both razor thin and one of them completely missing the tenderloin piece. Laughed out loud when I opened the box. Recently treated myself to a Omaha steaks combo pack & the results were mixed. The filets & NY strips were excellent as were the apple/caramel tarts. However, the kielbasa & franks were no better than super mkt products. The skewered lobster tails were tasty, but a total rip-off price wise. Also, shipping costs are very high! I have ordered Christmas gifts from Omaha for my parents and my brother for the past two years as well as my son and daughter last year. This year, I decided to order steaks for us as well. It wasn't until after I placed my orders this year that my son mentioned he was less than impressed with some of the steak cuts. A couple of weeks ago my husband pulled out a filet mignon and a rib eye to grill. OMG these things were barely a half inch thick!! Last night, we pulled out two more steaks and again, not even a half inch thick. We get better cuts at the grocery store, and I am not comparing to the butcher counter, just their standard cuts. I also saw the crab "cakes" I ordered for my mom and brother . . . these things were about the size of a ping pong ball! Not even two bites of food. I am now so embarrassed that I sent these gift packages as Christmas gifts. I will have to find something new for next year. I have received Omaha steaks as gifts in the past and was always pleased. OK so I get the price/value thing... I am willing to pay more money for exceptional meats (or any other thing) but whatever I pay a premium for had better be THAT much better. It's interesting to read the reviews here on Yelp because Omahasteaks.com doesn't allow me to review products on their site -- that alone should tell you something. In any case, I will keep this short. I go to my hunting cabin almost weekly and decided to try their crockpot meals as an easy way to feed myself for a weekend away. I had high hopes for the meals I received. In fairness, the quality was really great -- one of the best crockpot meals I've ever had honestly (rustic Italian stew). My issue is with the portion(s)! They advertise the meals as 'feeding a family of four'. Yea, right! Maybe if it's a single mother and 3 children under the age of 6 it could feed a family of 4. I am not an overeater and my normal portions are what I would consider 'normal' as well. If I am having any meal in a bowl, I will have one full (medium sized) bowl of whatever it is. But I literally had to limit myself to two small serving spoons in each bowl to stretch this to 4 servings. I am talking MAYBE 6-8 tablespoons/serving. Won't be purchasing again from them. read more

Customer Service's response was, " you received item number 1202 those are the 4 (8 Oz. Pkgs.) Filet Mignon Pieces.  The label will read Beef Tenderloin Steak Tips but they are in fact Filet Mignon Pieces." I then asked why they have tenderloin pieces also listed and are $5 cheaper. Sadly, the steaks were half the size of what they showed on TV. Not as thick either. I call that false advertising. That just irritates me as a consumer. Excellent product and customer service. We ordered the family bbq grilling package and were pleased with every item. We ordered through Groupon only to later realize it's not a deal as while our package on Groupon was 59.00 we had to pay 13 shipping for a total of 72$. Second time we got smart and ordered from them directly ( same order) for 69.00 and free shipping these saving 3$ with out he Groupon. Bottom line- order directly from the company. They have a "special" they're running called the "Butcher's Bundle" for $69.99 ($21 of it is a dessert and side). I did the math. It comes with filet mignon, pork chops, steaks, burgers and jumbo franks which totals about 4 lbs of meat for $49. That comes to $12.25 a POUND. You can get grass fed beef, etc. cheaper at the local markets. Is it the convenience of having this stuff shipped to your door or what? Speaking of which, that order of $69.99, you can add another $17 for shipping. Factor that in to the actual cost of the meat (since you can drive to your market for pennies) and it brings it up to almost $17 a pound. My gawd. I could not be more disappointed! As a special birthday present, I wanted to order some steaks for my son-in-law. I searched and found that Omaha Steaks was the only merchant offering this shipping service. Not only is the purchasing process deceptive (a second item needs to be purchased in order to receive the advertised price. If you don't make a second selection, the price of the original item doubles!), but the item arrived several days late, with no dry ice, and had to be discarded. When notified, Omaha Steaks agreed to refund my purchase. However, here we are 8 days later and no refund has reached my cc. Not only do I look like a schmuck for sending a birthday gift that had to be trashed, but I have to waste my time talking to their Customer Service folks, getting no where! read more

Here is a pic of our carrot cake upon arrival showing an untrustworthy delivery system. Imagine the disappointment if you ordered this as a gift for others. It obviously melted on its side before it reached us. (What if this had been meat?). But worse, we tossed it because it wasn't worth the calories after trying a small slice. It was terribly dry and lacked any taste of coconut, pineapple, nuts, raisins, etc.----all the good stuff that goes into a moist carrot cake. It was also incredibly small----a mini-cake is more accurate. If you send it as a gift, it will look too cheap given its size. $25 plus $18/shipping: $43 total. It wasn't cheap! The meat itself is very good quality. The problem is you hardly get any of it when you order. They ship a huge cooler filled with overly elaborate boxes, and tiny portions that a rigidly controlled. I've include a picture of one chicken breast we normally buy compared to 4 of Omaha steak's. You can see 4 of theirs are smaller than one of ours.
