We came here for lunch on a Friday right when they opened at 11. This is a small sit down restaurant with tables and booths as well as outdoor seating. The theming is "rock n roll" with guitars on the walls and rock music videos playing on large screens. There was only one server Isaiah, but he did a great job as the restaurant became more busy in their opening hour. I noticed a lot of to go orders being picked up. The menu has appetizers, sushi rolls, rice bowls, and ramen. There were lunch specials which are what we ordered. The chicken hibachi bowl is only $12 which I thought was a very fair price for the amount of food. The quality of the food is excellent. The punk rock roll was so good and it was different (with chopped strawberry, avocado, jalapeño, cucumber salad). Just don't go. Food was just ok, service was terrible. The menu items are very limited and not what would be expected at a typical sushi place. 80% of the rolls are fried shrimp. If you order ngiri sushi, you'll get a huge ball of sticky white rice with a small piece of fish. The waiter knew nothing about the menu, and the items came out very slowly, in the wrong order, or not at all! I asked for ponzu sauce on the side, but my Spicy Sashimi Salad was missing cucumbers, sriracha & eel sauce. I asked for the sriracha & eel sauce afterwards, but I didn't realize I was supposed to get cucumbers until after I finished my salad. Oh well. The sashimi quality was unfortunately not good. Wanted to try out this place with my partner and we were created nicely by our server Joshua , he was very attentive and made sure everything was okay. But he did miss a few things on my partners order and out of being disappointed with the quality of food , she decided to opt out of asking about her miso soup ( nor was it offered at time of taking the order ) . The atmosphere itself is so cute ! I love how different it is compared to other sushi spots with the rock and roll theme. The food was very....average and unexciting. I love the atmosphere and concept! Really cool vibe however this experience was very disappointing. I tried 3 rolls. The Thriller Roll, Sunset Strip Roll, and Pyro Roll. The sushi here is about as good as a supermarket deli case sushi a half hour before close. It was not fresh, dry and all three rolls tasted the same. We've been to Rock n Roll Sushi three times since they opened, and it's been fantastic every time! The concept is so much fun--the rock 'n' roll music and music videos create a great vibe, but the volume is perfect for still being able to chat with your table. The outdoor dining area is also a great spot, and they could even fit a couple more tables out there. As for the food, everything we've tried has been delicious! The sushi, hibachi, and appetizers are all on point, but the jalapeño poppers are a must-try. We really want to like this place. We've been there about a half dozen times now. The food is good, and the concept is cute. It's a fun 80s vibe, with videos playing. The music is good, not too loud. But... the service is awful, and it's getting worse. I watched our waitress get very stressed with the kitchen last night because they were so slow and disorganized with our food. There was about a 10 minute gap between the first person at our table getting served and the last person. That's unacceptable. The waitstaff seem rushed on top of this. My husband and I came here for lunch today and got there right when they opened. They were not busy at all and we were actually the first people there today. We started off with some spicy edamame and headbanger shrimp. Both of these appetizers were pretty good. The shrimp were a little big for me as well, but that's just my personal preference. For our entrees we did the yellowtail nigiri, good times roll and crowd surfer roll. The sushi rolls were okay. The crowd surfer roll was a little soggy for me so the roll was kind of mushy. The good times roll was good with decent flavor. The nigiri was a little iffy, I would say that we have had better. The service was great and the waitress was very attentive. We first ordered the eel roll and crawfish roll. The eel roll was mushy and room temperature, which was gross. I ordered shrimp fried rice, the saltiest thing I thought I've ever eaten.. nope, the other 2 replacement rolls were salty too. The VIP and Thriller was fried roles but they were cold on the inside. Make it make sense. Everything tasted pre-packaged and reheated. I think it's time to do a staff tasting with a manager to make sure recipes are being executed correctly. The sushi was discolored and not up to the level that sushi should be at. I ordered the wontons and they were absolutely delicious. Would I come back...hmm...maybe for the wontons and to give their hibachi a try but honestly, I can't say, definitely won't try the sushi again.
