Food was delicious! Seafood Ramen was on point! Very surprised the amount of scallops in one dish! The broth was so delicious I wanted to lick the bowl clean...lol Sushi rolls were tasty and just a bit of a kick. They had alot of flavor and the freshness was definitely there! I got the Rumba with cream cheese (no extra charge) because the server said the Tropical does not have rice and is for people who reallllly like plantains. The prices are a bit high for the quality of food that they provide to you. Spicy Edamame: edamame dressed with raw spicy pepper and sesame seeds Mangonada roll $21: I see the effort in the "fusion" but I wouldn't call this sushi. Salmon Avocado roll $11: this was a good classic roll. It would be nice if there was a better rice to filling ratio. Dragon roll $21: this roll was good. Good ratios of filling to rice and ingredients were fresh. Mariscos Ramen $28: had to wait awhile for this one. The ramen came out way later than the rolls. The flavours were good. The shrimp was perfectly cooked. The scallops were so chewy and over cooked. It seems like they hard seared the scallops and then put them into hot broth to cook it again. Unfortunately, the broth was way too spicy that I had to take it home to dilute it with water to eat it. Overall, I liked the vibe. The owner, Jessy, even came by our table to chat and make sure we were enjoying everything -- such a thoughtful touch that made the experience even better. I've been wanting to try this spot after seeing a lot of social media posts and came during happy hour. The margaritas were too sweet, and the food items on happy hour were no difference in price. I also was charged extra for a spicy margarita. The lobster wontons were tasty with nice chunks of lobster inside. Found this place on open table and booked a reservation for my boyfriend's birthday based on the reviews. Such a cute lowkey place for date night. Safe to say we loved it here. I personally don't like sushi but loved that they had vegetarian options. I had the mangonada roll & the avocado and both were delicious. My boyfriend had a crazy roll & the Chicago fire roll and loved both. We also shared the combo tempura platter & the chile relleno which was our FAVORITE. For drinks I had a passion fruit margarita which was perfect not too sweet not too strong & they make their syrups homemade! My boyfriend had a hibiscus whiskey sour & guava and loved both flavors. I had some troubles with this restaurant. Although our server was truly really nice and offered great recommendations from the menu, the overall functioning of the restaurant was far from optimal and my particular meal wasn't very flavorful nor worth the hefty price. I booked a table for our party of 4 at 6pm Three if us arrived on time to a relatively empty restaurant, with the fourth person 15 minutes away. We were hoping to get started on drinks. We were told no matter what we wanted to order, they could not sit us until our entire party was here, despite not being busy. When we were finally sat at our table, we knew pretty quickly our entire order, but the staff could not take our entire order at once. Although I really enjoyed the guava margarita (the Mexican part of the fusion restaurant) this resulted in us waiting 20-30 minutes before we can place our apps and mains...dragging out the entire sit in experience to over 3 hours on a not busy Sunday night! There were some highlights of the food, the spicy edamame was delicious and their fatty tuna special was very smooth. However my beef curry don was pretty bland, didn't have the typical starchy potatoes in Japanese curry, and beef was minimal. It definitely was not worth the 20+ charged for it. Fun spot we found while on vacation in Chicago. We didn't have a reservation so did have to wait 15-20min. It's a smaller restaurant so not as much seating. They have some unique rolls. We enjoyed everything. It was very filling. Especially the chicken udon. Good flavor. Wish we had a microwave in the room for leftovers. The sushi menu has some regular favorites, but also a few unique fusion rolls. I can't remember which one this is but had a shrimp tempura base which I usually prefer a non fried roll. To start, our table shared the yellowtail jalapeño and Hawaiian poke appetizers. Both were delicious! The yellowtail was the perfect amount of spicy and I loved the crunchy wonton chips with the tuna poke. We shared three sushi rolls for our main course-- the lime fusion, creamy scallop, and escolar jalapeño. The lime fusion roll is a must try. The lime zest topping the roll makes the freshness of the fish pop. All three rolls were flavorful and I'd order everything we tried again. I also had a guava margarita. I loved the tajin rim and large portion on this. They have cute outdoor seating in the summer and a fun indoor area for when the weather isn't as nice. My best friend I popped in for a quick dinner after a long work week. I took a rideshare but I believe there is paid street parking. We LOVED the margaritas, they were fresh, they have different fruit flavors to choose from and you can get sugar or salt rim. For apps, we had the *Hawaiian Ahi Poke, and *Lobster Wontons. We loved the poke and disliked the wontons. We ordered the wontons knowing they are a customer favorite but the ingredients inside weren't cohesive so we sent them back. For dinner, I had the *Crazy Roll and my best friend had the *Kara Miso Ramen. For the ramen, we removed all of the meat and instead ordered a side of chicken. WOW The sushi was fresh and delicious. I wish I had more room in my belly to order another roll. LISTEN UP! The ramen is absolutely PHENOMENAL!! Perfectly flavored and no need to add soy sauce. I had heard good things about Tsukiji so I was excited to try. The service was friendly although very dismissive to our concerns and the interior was clean and nicely decorated , and unfortunately I was disappointed overall. I ordered the Matsu Sashimi which was $36 for 9 slices of sushi, which is expensive for the value in and of itself. It came with miso soup and a bowl of rice. Even though we came with a party of 5 people, and the receipt indicated that a 20% gratuity was charged for parties 6+, we were still each charged the 20% fee and they would not remove it even after I asked. The ginger it came with tasted a little milduey/sour in a way that it shouldn't have. The miso soup was definitely overly salted. My friends ordered two salmon avocado rolls, and you could clearly see that one of the rolls had significantly more salmon while the other had a lot more rice. This was disappointing. We notified the server and he just told us he'd let the chef know but we never heard back. The fish was of okay quality, I definitely think there is better elsewhere. I definitely wouldn't come again, I think there are much better sushi places in the area with much better value. read more

Very cute date night place. The decor is nice minus the star war and Ken Jeong portraits. They are nice but definitely was trying to figure out the connection. Jesse(owner) was very nice and has great recommendations, of course she didn't let us know she was the owner until we were finished.We had margaritas and a whiskey sour. I personally felt the hibiscus margarita had too much syrup in it, but the whiskey sour was definitely a win. We had the spicy edamame, lobster wontons, and karaage chicken as appetizers. We ordered the beef udon and my friend had the marisco ramen but with the original miso. U can make any of the misos spicy or mild. I personally like the flavor of the original miso. The food was delicious , we ordered Lobster wontons, Tokio spicy sushi and Mario's Ramen with scallop and Shrimp. My only complaint was the wait time. We waited 4-5 min before being acknowledged once we enter the establishment, the host/ server which I later learned was one of the owners took my daughter and I to our seats and the ordered was placed at 8:15 pm. The food didn't not come out until a few minutes after 9:00pm. I am not sure if they were short staffed or what but that portion was a bit disappointing. I think that this spot has a nice ambience and friendly staff. I appreciated that there were Halal options. The menu is very extensive and broad, but I think it's hard to excel at every entrée when there's so many options.
