The birdies, food, toys, and other things are all of very high quality. And all the girls and ladies work there offer informative consultations and decent services. The only thing quite annoying is why there are always a couple senior ladies wandering around and trying to lecture and criticize everyone, and I know they don't even work there. They just come to have fun with the birdies. My family has been a regular customer of Omar for years. We brought our birdies home from Omar, and routinely spends a couple hundred bucks every month. Every single staff work there, even Squirt remembers and recognizes us. With sort of adequate knowledge and experience we are fully aware of how to handle our feather friends properly. That's why I only wear short sleeves shirts and barehands when visit the store. But one of the ladies always tries to lecture everyone, including me and my family 'U SHOULDN'T DO THIS, U SHOULDN'T DO THAT IF U DON'T KNOW HOW' with a very harsh tone. And most time no one really did anything wrong. I have noticed quite a couple times some obviously first time visitors left in no time with very pissed faces. And there is another lady once spent more than 30min trying to persuade us not to buy an African Grey going pretty well with us. To be honest, I know doing business can be tough these days, we understand and we are willing to support, so we have never complained about rising price or grooming charge. But at least we deserve a peaceful environment to ensure pleasant store visit for fun, instead of getting spoiled by someone who knows where they come from. They have been keeping pissing off your regular customers and pushing away your potential ones. read more

Omar's will supply a second or third maybe forth toy , depending on the length of stay at any price of the toy they choose and staple the ticket to your final bill . Lovely atmosphere when you walk in, have had mixed experiences with the employees Have been to this location a multitude of times and was considering getting my first cockatiel here. Be aware they will not let you take the bird home until they are a certain age, you will not be hand raising your own bird. If the bird is in the handling pins, they can be handled by anyone but you cannot take them home. A bird I was eyeing was unfortunately already sold. I asked and they do not have any sort of lists or holds if a bird becomes available again, but will keep the sold birds out on the floor for socialization. Their adoption process can be frustrating at times but makes sense given they have regulations to uphold. I do not recommend getting your first bird here if you are wanting to hand raise them yourself, but the baby will be pre-tamed if you purchase here. read more

At first I didn't understand why they have to keep the bird till they grow but now I understand why if you don't have the patience to wait for your bird look somewhere else. Staff is friendly and treats the birds well. I did not get my bird from here but their food and toys are good. They offer grooming and I only get my cockatiels nails filed but they offer other services as well. They also offer boarding but you'll need to have negative tests for various diseases beforehand. I really like bringing my kids here to hold and pet some of the birds. I like how they let people do that and they are easy to access. My kids love coming, and I bring them because we are planning on buying a bird next year, and I want them to get used to proper handling of them. All of the employees are very nice and helpful except for one. I assume she is the manager because she is the one who sometimes yells at people in the shop. She's actually pretty rude and unprofessional at times, especially the other day when they were short staffed. They were allowing people to hold the large birds, but only in the room with the cages. My kid wanted to hold her favorite bird, but when we opened the cage, the second bird hurried out and quickly climbed to the top of the cage. When the lady saw that, she said, "Umm, can you NOT do that! The birds should not be climbing!" We didn't know that, we couldn't stop it, and she could have been more polite. Then, I saw some other small kid who may have been on the spectrum, jump in excitement near the cockatiel cages, which resulted in some of the birds fluttering in the cage. The same lady immediately YELLED at them, saying, "HEY, DON'T DO THAT!!!". A more professional approach would have been to calmly ask someone to please be careful not to scare the birds while near their cage, and if it were to continue, she could ask them to leave the store. But the child who didn't mean to do that looked so sad after that, it was very sad. read more

The last time I was here, 2 macaws (the red one and the blue one) bite my arm! The store staff was aware. ***I did visited prior and they did not bite. - They have about 6 hanging playgrounds for macaw and other parrots. The birds appear tame and They also look really eager to come on your finger and interact with you! I've held them before and they didn't bite except for this one day I was there! This is a warning that they are animals and they can bite! I don't think they have enough staff to attend to the birds needs. The red and the blue Macaw were openly hanging out. They were playful but it seems like they lacked attention and training the day I went.. I came here 3 times: 1) Desperately needed a cage for a bird that I rescued. $55 bucks for a simple cage. And I was also able to grab a soft perch. (Overpriced, the cage I got would most like cost $20-30bucks at the swapmeet). 2) Took my 5yr old to see birds. And possibly get a cockatiel. They are going for $300 each right now. And many have been sold. Patterns and coloring doesn't matter. It's $300. -And an open cage for cockatiels. 3) Took my 3 boys to see the birds and see if they can choose a cockatiel but they were all sold out.. This is was the day I got bite by two Macaw birds. This place is a great place to purchase birds, take them in for grooming and a great place to see some exotic birds even if you don't have any. The staff is very friendly. I purchased my sun conure and my female Eclectus and am very happy with my purchases. For those who aren't bird people, they are not trying to be rude by saying "a bird isn't for you" they are simply telling you the absolute truth that birds require a lot of work and no bird is "easy". Most of the birds are babies and are very fragile and can easily get spooked by people that don't know how to interact with birds. The service is what really stands out here, they really love the animals and are true experts. They know everything about the birds and take such great care of them. I loved this bird store. There's an arena in the center of the shop where the birds are perched and not caged. They are fairly tame and allow you to pet them. Some even jump onto your hand or, if you're unlucky, your head!! The birds seem happy and well looked after. The ladies at the store are knowledgeable and genuinely care about the birds. You can look around and take photos with the birds without any pressure to buy. Even though we were there for just 15 minutes, it made my toddlers day.
