Annie was so gentle with my cockatiels. She's a fountain of knowledge. She doesn't just groom your birds, she takes care of them. This is a delayed review but Annie trimmed my cockatiel and parakeet's nails during covid. She did a great job! I recommended her to my mom recently who has two conures. Although a little more pricey it's worth it because otherwise nail trims coul/would get delayed, and delaying nail trims is harmful to birds. read more

Yes, it is very convenient, but it's a bit pricey. They did do a great job. Price is $100 for each dog (6 &8 lb) not including tip. Now I just take them to PetSmart in laguna hills. There they charged me $120 for both dogs. read more

Annie is amazing. I was stressing out about taking our parakeets to the vet to get their beaks/nails/wings trimmed. I didn't want them to get scared/anxious. I came across Annie's page and heard the song "Hallelujah" play in my mind. She was great at communicating through the whole planning process and was flexible with my schedule. Annie's Mobile Bird Grooming has done our 3 Macaws the last two times we needed them clipped and trimmed. She does an excellent job with the birds; they are not upset when they return to the house. We had our vet trim them previously, and they would sit there for the rest of the day, hardly making a sound. We also took them to another groomer who clipped their wings and took off too many feathers. We asked one of them not to be clipped, but they did it anyway. Annie does exactly what you ask, and our birds are much better now. She has corrected the mistakes made by the other groomer, and we are all very happy now. I would recommend Annie to anyone who has birds. read more

If you have a feathered member of the family, Annie is the person you want to groom your bird on a regular basis. She comes to your home and spares you and your bird of the stress of going to the vet and being exposed unnecessarily to germs. Not only does Annie groom your bird, but she weighs him and examines his condition. She alerts you to symptoms of vitamin deficiency before your bird develops serious problems and examines your bird carefully for any other issues that the bird has. She even has toys, vitamins, perches--whatever your bird needs to be healthy and happy. Annie is not only professional, but she is extremely trustworthy. I leave a key for her on days whenever I cannot be home for my bird's appointment. She has been grooming my Moluccan cockatoo for several years now, and she knows how to handle him all on her own without any incidents of injury to herself or my bird. History

Established in 1990.

While working for avian specialist Hannis Stoddard in the late '80's, Annie and a fellow vet tech realized the need to reduce stress on birds and their owners by providing in-home grooming for them. Everything from canaries to cockatoos benefit from this service. As the business caught on Annie retired from the veterinary office and pursued bird grooming and pet sitting. Before long, both businesses thriving, she had to give one up. Now, focused solely on bird grooming, she is available 6 days a week throughout most of Southern California.

Meet the Business Owner: Annie D.

Annie took a job at a pet store at the age of 15 as part of a veterinary assistant course. Intrigued by a small parrot, she became fascinated by a species she has previously believed to be kept only by zoos and eccentrics. She received the Nanday Conure as a Christmas bonus and the two became inseparable. She then, went on to work with the avian specialist, Perry Svedeen, DVM. Eighty percent of his patients were birds, and it was her job to handle the birds, as well as perform lab work and treatments. Later she worked for Hannis Stoddard, DVM, another renowned avian practitioner who's hospital was a training ground for many young vets interested in avian medicine. From there she worked at a consultant at one of the world's largest bird farms in the Philippines, Birds International. When she returned, she and a friend started what later became Annie's Avian Services. It has been her sole vocation since 1990 and she has had thousands of birds as clients.

It has been a very difficult time for my cat Bastu…read more However, I have found the facility to be very nice, and Bastu received prompt assistance for her problems! First, she was hospitalized for 24 hours. While there are still some things that I am trying to understand, the IV support made a big difference in her health. My understanding is that this is very important for cats with pancreatis. After going some time without eating, I could tell that she felt better after each treatment with fluids. I have not yet had a follow-up visit with my local vet to check Bastu's PrecisionPSL values. However, from two follow-up visits to CAEC, I can say that Bastu's SDMA values have returned to normal (after she was prescribed felimazole, and successful delivery of that medication for 3 days lead to more severe problems). The spike in BUN values from 21 (before felimazole) to 72 (after felimazole, and then decreased diet to the point of not eating any food) was reversed to 13 after treatment at CAEC (a little below normal, instead of very high above normal). While I am looking into more details (such as waiting to see if my Bastu is capable of returning to normal health) before following the procedures on the FDA website (https://www.fda.gov/animal-veterinary/report-problem/how-report-animal-drug-and-device-side-effects-and-product-problems), my understanding is that my cat has a pre-existing kidney problem. The elevated T4 levels (used to define a diagnosis for hyperthydroidism) represented the body's defense for those kidney problems - high T4 can cause problems in itself, but the underlying kidney problems can also cause additional problems. Thank you very much - while improvement has been slow, Bastu and I certainly appreciate the help within the last week!

I drove to EPIC Vets on a Saturday evening and met with Dr. Owens who explained entire procedure with me and that it would be done sometime that evening/Sunday am. I received a text message that his surgery had started at ~11pm and Dr. Owens called me at ~midnight to update me on his post surgery status. Dr. Owens was able to do a much less invasive surgery than anticipated with his previous emergency medical experience. Every staff member I met with or spoke with over the 2 days Munster was there was extremely professional yet very friendly and able to explain things in a way that was detailed but easy to understand. I was able to pick Munster up on Monday afternoon and bring him back home - where he is currently doing well. If I ever have another emergency situation with one of my cats, or another pet - I would definitely bring them to EPIC Vets for critical care.

During an already traumatic and emotional situation, we trusted this clinic to provide the best possible care and ended up paying upwards towards $5,000 for treatment. Unfortunately, the suturing was done very poorly, and we were concerned about how his wounds were healing. We decided to seek a second opinion elsewhere, and the other veterinarian confirmed our concerns and provided proper treatment. Since then, Romeo has healed well. No pet owner expects perfection, especially in an emergency, but we do expect competent care that matches the cost of treatment. Spending thousands of dollars only to have to seek corrective care elsewhere was heartbreaking and frustrating. I would strongly encourage others to ask questions and consider getting a second opinion if something doesn't seem right.

They were very responsive (on a Sunday!), prompt, friendly, and even followed up to see how my little gal was doing (much better now). It was a little expensive because I am in Ventura county, so the mileage charge was high, but worth every penny If you want a professional service, I highly recommend My Pet Ambulance.
