Heard about Omega Mandoo House from our fellow Yelper's. We were in the Nuuanu area and decided to stop by and get some Mandoo. It was almost Closing Time so they only had the frozen ones available. We picked up a Half Bag of the Chicken Mandoo (20 pieces). We asked the lady what would be the best way to cook them. She suggested Frying them. We went home and made them for dinner. They were amazingly delicious . The wrappers were perfect and the filling was moist and very flavorful. They sure know how to make Mandoo. These hidden small whole in the wall places are deemed the best! I was surprised to have bumped in to this small shop located near nuuanu (a few doors away from Nuuanu okazyuya). Don't let the homeless bother you because the feed store owner is taking care of that problem. these older ladies roll, fill and steam these mandoo, all you need to do is buy a bag, or two or more, take it home, and warm it up in the microwave or if you're like me, fry it crispy! Right off the side on Nuuanu Rd. You'll probably see the Tio Tamale shop 1st. If you see Nuuanu okazuya you went too far. Anyways they only had frozen when we went which is fine so I can make a few here and there when I want. These are very good sized mandoo and the outsider wrapper is thicker with more chew. In other words perfect for soups and making your own won ton mein at home. The more Chinese Japanese gyoza potsticker is was smaller and thinner that'll fall apart. Very very good mandoo. Take out only. If you go at the right time, you might get it freshly made ones. All ready to eat, or you get the refrigerated or frozen ones that you take home and defrost and eat. We like to put in soup. Each pieces are so big and delicious. The Mandi is excellent and is plump and HOMEMADE daily by a group of older women who know how to make the dumplings. They are probably the best tasting mandoo on Oahu. The dumplings are great whether you boil, steam, pan or deep fry or air fry them. We decided to get the half bag of the chicken vegetable mandoo (20 pieces of uncooked dumplings The only negative is the listed times that they are open. Because they stay open until they sellout, you could go to their shop in the afternoon and they are closed. Take home message is you have to go in the morning (early) to get the dumplings. The other day, I was getting some lunch for my mom at Nu'uanu Okazuya and found an open metered stall right in front of Omega Mandoo House. Since I was there, I thought that I should get a bag of Mandoo. The best deal was 40 pieces for $35. If you buy half a bag, it's 20 pieces for $20. Hmmm... Note: there's also a kimchee Mandoo. I got the Chicken and Chives version. The nice lady seemed so appreciative of my purchase. She said that it's best to defrost the Mandoo first, then fry them. Ok... I can do that! ...and I did! Mandoo house...like a setting for a Netflix feature on street food. I walk up to an open door where a table of "middle" aged woman are forming uncooked mandoo. Cute ladies making mandoo all day. They are filled to the max and they taste delicious. It's always a great thing to have in your freezer to enjoy. They're so sweet and friendly and work,work, and work hard all day for our enjoyment. I know a lot of restaurants that use their mandoo so it's legit delicious. Mandoo parties are the best. Heck, bring fried mandoo to a party and you will be a star for the moment! Omega sells fully cooked mandoo filled with chicken and vegetables. They also have Kim chee mandoo. Both delicious. Kim chee mandoo more difficult to get as it is always so popular. Chicken and veges is the more common, just as delicious one. Price break happens at a full bag of 40 pieces. One can also buy half a bag of 20 pieces. ..usually iqf frozen. Get lucky and the ajumas are making it while you watch and you can then buy them fully cooked and ready to eat. I like to take them home and pan fry them for a party. Or throw them in soup and garnish with greens. Either way, it's deeeelicioous. And in my opinion, the closest to the best on the island. Decided to pick up some homemade Mandoo at the Mandoo House located on Nuuanu couple doors down from Nuuanu Okazuya. They was originally located across the street from Liliha L@L on Liliha. I got there and wanted to buy Kim Chee Mandoo and the vegetable w/chicken Mandoo. The sales person told me that they only had Kim Chee Mandoo left so I ordered a half bag @ $25. Looks like you get a price break if you order the full bag . The Kim Chee half bag of 20 pieces is for $25. The full bag you get 40 pieces @ $40. The chicken w/vegetable half bag of 20 pieces @$18 and a full bag of 40 pieces @ $30 . It comes frozen so you'll need to cook it yourself . I had their Mandoo before and it's very good but that's when they was located in Liliha. Now their at a new location I'm sure it taste the same . My last review was in 2021. Face masks were the in thing! The man doo here is still the bomb!!! Home-made, hand-made, delicious, authentic. They're usually frozen but sometimes you can get them freshly made too. Either way, they're still great. The staff are pleasant and parking is so easy at 6am. read more

Literally the BEST mandoo on the island. Omega is a hole in the wall takeout mandoo shop that my family has been obsessed with throughout quarantine. If you peak through the storefront, you'll see the ladies hard at work, making perfectly filled and stuffed mandoo. Take my word, and don't get a 1/2 bag--you'll go through the full 40 PCs of mandoo super quickly! I like to boil the mandoo until they float, then drizzle chili oil, minced garlic, and a shoyu/mirin-red pepper flakes sauce on top! SOOO GOOD..I could eat this everyday for lunch, and have endless stomach space for these dumplings LOL. Bring cash and park on the street in front. I think these mandoo would be such a good/easy item to bring to a potluck or you could just save them and eat all forty yourself. Omega mundoo house sells mundoo and sauce. That's it. There r only 2 kinds of mundoo kimchee and chicken. I've only bought the chicken and it's excellent. Generous portions, sold frozen individually. It's expensive per bag but I keep it in the freezer and take them out individually as I need them. Perfect. This seems like authentic mundoo since the ladies that are hand-making the mundoo speak almost no English. I love that authenticity. read more

Cute location where u order at the door and the mama sans would ask what u would like while they made the mandoos fresh at the table. You can get them either frozen or hot. I was hangry so I got them hot. They're one of the biggest masons I've ever had. I ordered the chicken vegetable and this had a nice juicy pop to u! You know the wrapper was fresh because it had a nice bouncy chew to it and duhhhhh u can see them mixing and rolling the dough out. Don't forget to purchase the sauce. read more

One of my fondest memories of living in Korea back in the 90s, was a hole in the wall Mandoo specialty shop that I would frequent on my walk back home from work through a maze of alleyways and winding streets in Songtan City. Through all these years, I never forgot the taste of that wonderful mandoo as it was exceptional and sadly never replicated at the many Korean restaurants I frequented both in the US and in Seoul... UNTIL NOW. In perfect hole in the wall fashion, this mandoo shop is a tiny thing just off Nuuanu avenue (across from the mortuary) that you'll miss if you blink when driving by. Of course like any authentic Korean place, the mandoo is handmade, but what makes this shop even better is you can choose a chicken mandoo (if avoiding pork). The Mandoo is made to perfection and ready to cook when you get home. I recommend you deep fry these savory (not so little) suckers and prepare yourself for a stand alone meal. How did I not know about this place and drive through here often? It's located right by tios tamales right before Chinatown. Parking is all metered and there isn't many of them out front. I just made my own stall since I wouldn't be spending no more than 5 minutes anyway. The ladies in there are nice. I think I came during their lunch break cause they were all eating and cooking fish. One of them even said that the fish is smelly. Lol. They take cash only. I got two boxes of mandoo but I split it between my parents and myself. I Froze half of it cause it was just too many. I preferred it steamed with a little bit of ponzu sauce. My parents fried theirs a bit. Both ways is good but I preferred mines better. Lol. read more

I absolutely love their kimchee/pork mandoo. I also get the chicken and veggies because it's healthier than pork and great when I just want to eat a little healthier but I love the kimchee/pork combination. I steam them and make my own dipping sauce. 2 part shoyu, 1 part vinegar, teaspoon chili pepper(korean type), touch of mirin, squeeze of honey, and pinch of garlic, chopped up red and green jalepenos, and chopped green onions. Love the chicken and vegetable mandoo! I wanted to get some for my boyfriend's birthday, so we called to make sure they were open (with COVID19 going on and all). Hes wanted to try this place out in FOREVER. They say they're open until 4, so we get there around 230, and they are completely closed! not really sure where the miscommunication was on this, but a few days later, I decided to try again, but this time I actually placed an order in through the phone and told them we were coming. We were able to finally get them, and they were SUPER nice. We went home and fried some up, and let me tell you, they were SO good, I dont even care that I wasted a gas trip that first time when they closed early. If Aunties wanna be only open for 1 day in the year, they can set whatever rule they want as long as I can get the heavenly goodness for 1 day. I had to stop my boyfriend from cooking the whole batch cause we gotta be smart and ration out the food porn to last a little longer. Definitely try them out some day. OMGOMGOMG! I can't believe it took me this long to try Omega Mandoo House...okay and I admit, it did take me a few months to post my review too. So first of all, location is important to mention. Omega is located on the same block as Tio's Tamales and Nuuanu Okazuya. It's a very tiny spot and it's interesting because once you walk in, you'll see ahjummas sitting around the table talking story in Korean and wrapping mandoos. The menu is super simple which is great for those who are indecisive (like me). You can choose between the chicken-vegetable mandoo or the kimchee mandoo. It comes in a bag (or Styrofoam box) of 20 or 40. You can get them frozen or cooked. I bought a box of 20 chicken-vegetable mandoo for my office and everyone loved it. I alone probably had 3 or 4. I've gotten them several other times for work potlucks. The flavor is amazing, and you can taste that it's fresh! I keep meaning to buy the big bag to take home and leave in the freezer, but the hours aren't very consistent. If you really want your mandoo, be sure to call ahead and see if they're open and if they have enough mandoo left. I always make sure to go in the mornings so I've never had a problem. read more

Sometimes you find things by accident... I dropped by Nuuanu Okazuya for my kupuna to get her some green beans tossed with lop chong sausage. I parked a few stalls away and spotted this fairly new place. Remembered seeing it on Yelp and decided to check it out. About 6 Korean ladies were putting together fresh man doo dumplings. I flattered them with the little Korean that I know, being part Yobo! The man doo was all laid out on a table waiting to be lightly floured and tossed in large bags to be refrigerated or frozen. Fresh man doo - how lucky is my timing! I told them no need flour them up, just toss them in a bag. 20 Chicken and 20 Kim Chee - total 40 dumplings. Man doo dinner party. Man doo dinner party. I supply the 40 dumplings and chicken broth. Invite 5-8 friends over, instructing each to bring a side ban chan dish to go with the dumplings. Make sure you have no duplicates. My favs? Fishcake, Kim Chee, Tofu, Taegu, Bean sprouts, broccoli heads and choy sum oyster sauce. My fav broth - simply chicken stock with a dab of miso and a dab of Korean hot paste. Dice green oinions and throw it in. Perfect. Add shoyu to taste..... Then, add the man doo. Serve in bowls. Add rice or cold noodles on the side if desired. Great on a cold, rainy night. Add sake if weekend! Fresh man doo is the bomb....you will be a hit for hosting your own man doo dinner party! Yowza. The 40 dumplings were $40. Try a Man Doo dinner party....so ono! read more

This is the spot! 4 ladies making handmade mandoo daily! I swear there was around 400 being made when I walked inside this spot! I got the chicken and vegetable since they ran out of the kim chee kind. I paid $16 for 2 pieces. I took them home and made them two different ways. Option #1: Pan fry, then finish by steaming. I made a sauce of shoyu, vinegar, and hawaiian chili peppers. Option #2: Deep fry. I made a sauce of shoyu, sugar, water, sesame seeds, green onions, sesame oil, gochujang sauce. Both were great, but I prefer the deep fried. The mandoo was so fresh and really tasty. I am going back soon to buy more and I hope they have kim chee. read more

I drive by this little shop every week and wasn't really sure if it was a restaurant specializing in Mandoo or a Mandoo shop. Thank goodness for Yelp in clarifying my curiosity. I called on Wednesday and spoke to Mrs. Park. It was a good thing that other people had posted the menu. She was so friendly in explaining what they offered. So I placed my order and said "see you on Friday, Mrs. Lee" Today is Friday..I cannot tell you how happy I was when we went to pick up our order. A little narrow room with 3 ladies, and a refrigerator and freezer with bags of freshly made mandoo. It was fantastic...so flavorful, you could taste the chives and garlic it was delicious. We just love Omega Mandoo House! The mandoo are so tasty! We always call the day before to place our order. The Kim Chee mandoo seems to run out faster than the chicken. They may also have a few frozen ones available. The owner and her workers are so sweet too. We had a pretty large order with three of us waiting as they were busy packing them. The women were so friendly and joked with us all the while. The owner also packed up some of her special dipping sauce that she had prepared for her own use. It's not for sale. We walked by this shop on the afternoon on the 4th of July. The streets were pretty empty and all the shops were closed except for this little gem. There were four elder ladies sitting at the table making Mandoo. They were super nice and we bought the chicken and vegetable Mandoo. The shop is pretty minimal kind of like a hole in the wall place, but the Mandoo is amazing! It tasted like grandmas dumplings.
