We found this store at the farmers' market at the Blaisdell Center. They sell microwave-ready udon and ramen that are ready in about four minutes. I got the shoyu udon for $13.75, and the staff told me it could be kept in the refrigerator for a few days. I cooked it the next day for lunch. You don't need to add any water--just slide the lid open slightly and microwave it for four minutes. The soup was very gentle and light, so I added a little yuzu kosho as a condiment, which went nicely with the meat in the udon. You could also add more vegetables if you like. Have you tried Nabeya Maido? I bought this yesterday at the Kaiser Farmers Market. This is the pork belly/BBQ beef combo in ramen. Loosen cover, microwave on high for 4 minutes... stir it up a bit and voila! Ready to eat. Lots of food... I couldn't finish it. Think I prefer the combo dishes in udon over the plain ramen. I got some bowls for a fundraiser at my kids' school. It is a really convenient fundraiser and it sounded like good food. I really liked not having to go park on King Street to pick up my bowls. Pick up was at the school. It was very easy to microwave these bowls to eat. The instructions were clear and simple. These bowls are jampacked with noodles and veggies. A little bit light on the meat. It was pretty tasty though. For the price, I'm not sure I would get it again unless there was a fundraiser attached because I always try to support in some way. Omg! So delicious and reasonably priced! This was a pop up in front of Target Ala Moana and a nice lady was selling premade nabe bowls that you can microwave at home. I was hesitant but why not...only $15. I bought the sukiyaki bowl. At home instead of microwave, we separated the noodles out and boiled the broth and veggies. All I can say is wow! Delicious! The cold broth is gelatinous so you know they don't use fillers but a true meat broth. Once heated we added the noodles and enjoyed the meal. It was hearty and filling. Highly recommend if you are unsure what to make for dinner. Healthy and flavorful! The woman selling the meal was so nice and helpful. It is a pop up outside but the food. I love that this place is still close in location to me and still tasty with more bowl options! They moved from market city to south king Street across the library right next to stadium park. You can street park and pick up your to-go bowls, fast and easy. The price went up a little but I think they are a little bigger in portion size now still very tasty and the convenience of a microwavable bowl so I think it's still worth it! I got the sukiyaki udon which is the original one I always get (soup broth is soo yummy!) and the cold noodle which you can choose I believe from I think three different sauces. The microwaveable bowls are very convenient and they're nicely presented with a good mix of vegetables. You have a choice of ramen or udon noodles and either spicy or shoyu sauce. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. First, they said our order had three bowls when we had five. We had to show our confirmation email to prove we ordered and paid for five bowls. This was during a non busy period, around 2pm, and there was no line. Second, it wasn't until we went to pick it up that they said the spicy sauce was sold out. There was no notice on the website or email and no contact was made even though I provided my cell telephone number on the order. The shoyu sauce was tasty and the vegetables complemented the noodles nicely. I tried both the ramen and upon noodles. The udon was okay, no different from other places. The ramen tasted like frozen noodles and on the hard side. There are so many ramen places now that the expectation is high and it's hard to get the quality and taste of freshly prepared noodles from a microwaved one. Overall, the bowls are convenient but because of the taste of the noodles and uncertainty of service, I would rather go to one of the many other noodle shops. read more

One of the creative changes covid has created as once they used to have a hotpot restaurant in Market City Shopping Center only closing the dine in portion during the pandemic having them forced to pivot to take out only didn't really interest me whatsoever. Fast forward to the Kaiser Farmers Market held on Tuesday nights marketing their "Micorwaveable Bowls" which is a fascinating idea you don't see around very much is brilliant. The soup portion is in a jelly consistency piling on the toppings bringing the vision of a mini hot pot and now to have their current brick and mortar location right on South King Street next to the Old Stadium Park you can pick up any of their items at your convenience. On this visit they had a special of "Tomato" ramen or udon and decided to give it a try along with the Maido House Shoyu udon for mom as she wasn't feeling well I though this bowl of hot soup with the load of veggies would be the perfect remedy. You're given a card to give you the ideal timeline to keep your bowl in the fridge which is two days max recommended and to crack open the lid a bit for ventilation and heat on high for about four minutes...we did that but since everything has been cooled down we did a couple more minutes after giving it a break from the first heat to get it that nice super hot throughout the dish. We were excited because I think we saw them on the news or some type of local food show so we always wanted to try it out. The bowls are simple, just microwave and enjoy! Love this place we found because we got sick and some kind friends gave these to us. They were SO good and perfect for Japanese comfort food. We got the shoyu broth and it came with a ton of vegetables and meat and meatballs over a big serving of noodles. We heated ours 4 minutes in the microwave and they were piping hot and delicious. Hot pot is one of the things I miss most of pre-Covid times. Ok I probably say that about everything, but it really makes me sad to think about all the places that I loved hot potting at that aren't around or that I won't go to cause I just don't eat indoors yet. But I'm so happy that nabeyo maido has lasted and so brilliantly pivoted. Ive been so curious but haven't made it down to the restaurant during the pandemic, yet finally tried a microwavable bowl through a fundraiser, paying $12/bowl and $4 per bowl being donated to a small elementary school. What an amazing and generous idea! The restaurant's Instagram also shows the owner generously donating bowls to teachers in the community. Definitely a great small business that deserves our community support too!! I was super excited to try my bowls. They are stuffed with goodies, a choice of udon or ramen, topped with pork belly, peppery and moist chicken meatballs, won bok, kabocha, fresh mushrooms, garlic slices, and a super flavorful house broth. Everyone I shared them with raved about them. Super convenient, you microwave the bowl it comes in for 4 minutes and then it's ready to eat. I like my noodles a little under cooked so took them out after about three minutes and prefer my veggies well cooked so cooked them about another minute. I did add a dash of ponzu sauce though the light broth was tasty. I would definitely get this again and can't wait to try their other soup broths! read more

This review is based off of their take out nabe. Work catered lunch from here and we were all excited to enjoy our nabe during our lunch breaks. Instructions were to heat in the microwave for 4-5 minutes and you have your own nabe lunch. Individual servings are perfect for the Covid era we currently deal with. It was the perfect meal in a bowl. There were three types of meats, a variety of veggies with udon noodles in a shoyu broth that I didn't waste a single drop. Felt full and ready for a nap right after. Restaurants that make you want to come back for more are the ones that win future business. I was introduced to this place from one of my son's many soccer fundraisers. One of the soccer moms suggested we do this place for our next fundraiser and of course, I was down. I like noodles and soup! The first time we just stopped by and picked up whatever they had left, I believe it was a shoyu udon and two spicy udons. We all preferred the spicy udon over the shoyu; it had more flavor and it wasn't too spicy. The next time we called ahead so we could all get the spicy udon. It is very easy to prepare - four minutes in the microwave with the lid cracked open. Do not add water. Also, that same soccer mom said you can freeze the udon and it still tastes good (just take out the tofu; that gets weird in the freezer). Make sure to follow them on Instagram because he sometimes travels to other open markets/fairs so he may close early for the day. Don't want to get your hopes up on eating nabe and get it dashed because they're closed early. They're great for fundraisers; everyone loves them! read more

Those micro bowls are GENIUS. So convenient. If could freeze and the veggie still be that nice would be even better...but was told 2-3 days in the fridge so that's good too. We bought a bunch of fundraising tickets so picked up some bowls and gave couple to ma and some friends, and fed ourselves. Make sure you check the dates cuz you only have 2 months to pick it up....I need to watch b/c I still have a bunch more. I was down the street so decided I should stop and pick up. Also used a gift card I had...was given a hard time since it was a while since I bought it and I although a little turned off by that entire conversation/scolding, it was honored and that's all that really mattered. Only had 2 options for the bowls and 1 option for the nabe sets. Maybe need to call in ahead? I'll try call next time. Don't forget to get our own sauces...or maybe can ask them for some? Nice variety of veggies with what tasted and looked like udon noodles. Mine had what appeared like small meatballs or dumplings. The veggies stay crunchy after microwaved for almost 4 minutes. The thinly sliced pumpkin was still kind of hard for my liking. I made a side sauce for dipping. This hot pot bowl is quite filling. I still have some left - that's not going to waste. There is some strange parking in the front with stalls that are either to small or strangely angled but there is more than enough. They don't have dine in, but they do have ready to eat bowls where you can choose the broth and type of bowl. I opted for the veggie udon bowl with miso broth. We had to wait about 15 minutes for them to prep our bowls in the back. We headed over to Kapiolani Park for a nice picnic to enjoy our bowls.
