I can't believe I haven't reviewed Omelette Express before this, as I eat there several times a year. They have an extensive menu of omelettes with various items to add. The traditional Denver omelette is their no. 2, with cheese skipped. For those who want the cheese, there are several varieties to choose from. An omelette comes with a generous portion of home-fried potatoes and a slab of sourdough toast, with wheat or white, your choice. There is an extensive menu of vegetarian and seafood omelettes and many non-omelette choices as well. Open for breakfast and lunch. Service was attentive and our meals came very quickly. Great Breakfast place! (pajamas ok here) Outstanding bread, omelets, french toast, potatoes and eggs. Although they don't have some of the typical breakfast mixes, they do put there own spin on things and its all pretty good healthy food. We decided to give Omelette Express a try when we were passing by Windsor (and by finding this restaurant on Yelp). Very short wait on a Sunday and the service was lightning fast! I ordered a latte and a make-your-own Omelette and my husband had the corned beef hash. My husband is a bit of a corned beef hash connoisseur and he gave this has a thumbs up. There's usually a wait (at both the Santa Rosa and Windsor locations), but it's never for too long. There are more omelette choices than any other restaurant I've been to, and the the servings are huge! Between the omelette, bread, and potatoes, I've found it's best to split the meal. I highly recommend the potatoes that accompany the meal, as well as the sourdough toast (which is actually a thick chunk of a baguette). Because they're always packed we've sometimes had to wait for coffee refills, but never too terribly long. It's very loud inside (the tables are close together), so this is not the place for a serious, quiet conversation, but it's a great place for groups and kids. read more

Although I didn't partake in the egg festivities I had a bite or two of my mom's breakfast and it was delicious. the eggs are perfectly fluffy with great simple flavors and the fillings are limitless. For a business to be called Omelette Express you'd hope that they know what they're doing when it comes to making eggs. I had a Mexican Salad which was topped with vegetarian chili. We really like this place a lot. Great food. They cook my eggs perfect over easy everytime. The potatoes are great too. They serve the most awesome thick cut toast from a local bakery. Try the wheat sourdough, the best I've ever had. The sourdough is good too, but man that wheat sourdough is heaven. Omlets are great. French toast is awesome too. My family has tried a lot of the food there and it's all been very good and cooked to perfection. The servers are always super nice. Great atmosphere, great food, great service. I came here with my Dad on Fathers Day after the Hot Air Balloon event down the street. Needless to say it was SLAMMED! We waited about 20minutes for a table. The waitresses were running around like crazy and we working very hard, we had to wait about 10 minutes to get our drinks ordered, but it wasnt a big deal since I know they were so busy. Our waitress was very apologetic and we had great service the rest of the time. The portions very very big and satisfying. Great place if you need that protein in the morning!! They have all kinds of omelettes made to order and what's nice is no wait on a Saturday morning at 10am. Even if there is a wait, other reviewers said it wasn't for that long. This is just a nice neighborhood place for eggs and potatoes. Sorry no pancakes but you're not here for that sugary stuff, just the protein although they do have french toast if you really need it. Sit inside or outside on their nice patio under the trees. They have another place in downtown Santa Rosa I would imagine would be a great stop too before antique shopping there. I ordered the spinach and tomato eggs benedict and it was very good. While I wouldn't call our meal here amazing, it was an enjoyable experience on a Sunday afternoon. We wandered in and were told to sit wherever we liked. The dining room is light and airy with Stickley-style furniture. While the look is classy, the chairs make so much noise when you pull them out. Fortunately this did not seem to bother anyone else. Our waitress promptly checked on us and served decent coffee. I believe they use a local bean toaster and offer espresso drinks as well. I ordered a burger and the husband got an omelette. The menu is quite large and it seems that there are options to suit many tastes. However, they do not have waffles or pancakes! This was not a disappointment to me, but it's worth mentioning if you have folks in your life who don't eat eggs. My burger was enormous and a little more cooked than I would have liked, but I appreciated the generous mayo and green chilies. Strangely, it was covered in American cheese even though the menu described it as coming with jack cheese. The husband's omelette was good but also close to over cooked. One country and one regular. Both totally lacked flavor. Their hollindaise is bland as can be and there's nothing exciting or unique. Potatoes were bland and boring.
