A local recommended this place to us. It is true, it does take a VERY long time to get your food, however, we were there on a Sunday morning and it looked pretty busy. We sat down and 38 minutes later we got our food. That was OK with us since we weren't in a hurry, but I wouldn't recommend it if you are in a hurry. The coffee kept coming though, it seemed like every 2 minutes the lady was refilling the coffee, which tasted good. We ordered the "Big Southern" (2 eggs, 4 sausage links, hash browns and biscuits and gravy) and the "Denver Omelette" which came with hash browns and toast. There were 5 of us and they were seating people the social distance way. Asked about taking a couple round booths and they said it wasn't allowed as the health department wouldn't allow it. Another group of 5 came in and another server seated them how we wanted to be sat and then asked if it was OK. The server that told us no, said it was OK for them. We said it shouldn't be ok because we wanted to sit over there and they wouldn't let us. Why is it OK for another group but not ok for us? Asked and she didn't have an answer for us, she walked away instead. Food was good for the most part. I used to love this place. Food was amazing and service was good. Homey and comfortable but latley they can't get an order right for nothing. Everytime I get a to go order they forget something . When eating in my boyfriend always orders a milk and it gets forgotten every time. I think it's time to retire some of your waitresses and upgrade to some that don't forget everything . read more

Despite the average rating and the huge complaint at the end, this is probably my favorite go-to place for breakfast. The food's all over the place in quality -- you might have to dig around, but you can find some amazing meals. In my experience, usually the sweeter stuff is best. Their waffles are great (and simple), as are their crepes. With the biscuits and gravy, you're chances are about 50/50 on whether they'll be perfect, or quite dense and blah. 'Omelettes' may be in the name, but my fiancee and I have consistently found them among the restaurant's weakest meals. My fiancee often gets the eggs Benedict with gravy instead of hollandaise, and, while good, the cooks rarely get the poached egg right: It's either way over- or undercooked 80% of the time. Cooking time depends on the crowd, of course, and usually tends to be pretty quick (~7 minutes). I'd say food prices are a bit below average in most cases, at least in what I like to get ($6-7.5 for a meal that would cost $9 at Pancake House and $12 at the crazy over-priced Stuffy's II). They charge a small fee for hot water, making this the only place I've ever seen do that. They don't care if you share coffee, which is a big plus, but it's also not uncommon to never be offered a refill without asking. Most everything about Omelettes and More is typical Chicago diner. It's a bit dirty and grimy, but it adds the comfortable atmosphere. (Except the bathroom. Gross.) The coffee is classically tasteless but endless, which means it's the best. There are no waiters, only waitresses, because this is just a town of outdated morals. The photography that adorns the walls -- which, I think, is supplied by a local photographer(?) -- is terrible -- so terrible that I'd almost swear it was ironic. (My personal favorite is the black-and-white shot of flowers, one colored, and a great big fly resting on one of the other flowers. What's the focus here? I have no idea. It's awful -- and yet classic diner.) I've found my favorite meals, and despite the mixed experimentation to find those, they'd be enough to give this place 4 stars. Why I have to dock it to average, however, is...hard to explain. The atmosphere here -- the people -- can be uncomfortable. There are days I come in here that I don't feel welcome at all. It's not uncommon to overhear awkward conversations -- probably the worst of which was overhearing a dad promise to beat his two-year-old for being a normal two-year-old when they got home, and a waitress drop racial slurs merrily with an old couple when talking about who needs to get out of 'their' country for being whatever generalizing stereotype. Yikes. (I've heard racist tirades here quite a few times from customers, but there was only the once that an employee joined in.) Most of the staff are super friendly and talkative and I'll miss 'em, including a few that often get us extra food or toppings or sweet treats or just good jokes 'n' stories. You're the best. (You know who you are.) There is one waitress, though -- one very specific waitress -- who's so...completely...dreadful. I don't know why, but this one woman will roll her eyes at us when we order or do anything. She'll grunt when we ask for more coffee, spill it a bit without looking, and hustle over to another table to strike up a conversation while ignoring our thank-yous (while making a show of returning you're-welcomes to surrounding tables). She'll give us exasperated sighs and audibly mutter "Oh, for God's sake" when we ask her for change so we can tip her...before rolling her eyes at us again and snatching the tip with a touch of aggression.. Last time we went, I stood at the front trying to get a take-away box for over five ~actual~ un-exaggerated minutes; it got to the point where I just shyly wanted to see how long it would take for the waitress to acknowledge me. She'd only offer grumbles to get past me multiple times, so I just kept pacing around in the front of the restaurant making eye contact with her and even regular customers who were watching and raising their eyebrows at this lady blatantly go out of her way to ignore me. It got to the point of being self-consciously weird and uncomfortable for everyone. She never said anything, we ended up just leaving with her giving us a look of utter contempt on the way out. I have no idea why this waitress dislikes my fiancee and me so much, but it's partially the inspiration for writing this review. It's so bizarre to come this this restaurant we've been weekly customers at for half a year, and have to risk a high chance of getting stuck with this new-ish waitress who'll all but yell at us and tell us to go screw ourselves for politely asking for waffles and bacon, always saying thank you, and tipping a standard 20%. So we're perhaps done here, at least for a while. We'll miss it, but we absolutely can't deal with that waitress focusing a horrible attitude on us as if we're the cause of all her problems. read more

My grandmother and I haven't been here since I was a child. So, we thought we would check it out again for our weekly Sunday breakfast. We were soo disappointed. The ham and cheese omelet had over cooked cheese inside. When we asked the waitress about it she told us "well it's usually just balled up in the middle". My grandmother, being the gracious and wonderful human she is just confined to eat it in complete disappointment. The waitresses were more concerned with all of their "regulars" to pay us any attention. The coffee was filled regularly and nicely. But, if you get water and think your getting more than one cup, think again. They won't refill it. This is a breakfast and lunch place with home style cooking. I ordered the Big Southern breakfast. Everything was good home style prepared, all fresh. While the biscuits were not as southern as I remember from childhood, they were fresh and moist. The gravy was ok. The eggs were perfect and the bacon just right. Was one of my favorite places to eat in our little community but recently it's seem to have gone down hill with the quality of food. The service is still amazing and rather welcoming, but the last three times we have been there our food has been cold and messed up in some way. Ask for hard eggs got cold scrambled. Asked for soft bacon got over cooked, and then today the cook wasn't wearing a beard net so guess what... we found hair in all three of our plates. Send two back and both that came back had yet hairs in them again. They were courteous to replace the food but the fact still remains that they are allowing their cooks to not wear the things that they are required to wear to be sanitary. We are new to Longview. Two out of two strikes. 1st time the hashbrowns had obviously been sitting in the back corner of the grill for some time, super dried out, not chewable, had to send them back. My eggs that I ordered soft scrambled came out hard and dry and the biscuits were hard and dry. Went back there yesterday because the Pancake House (which is excellent BTW) was closed and thought we would give this place a 2nd chance. Sat there for over 15 minutes ready to order. Was not that busy. Our (supposed) waitress was hanging around the front counter chatting with other staff. She was surly with us because we asked for a window table instead of the one in the dark corner near the kitchen door that she wanted us to sit in. Kind-of slammed the coffee cup and plate of creamer down on our table. Another waitress chatting for a long time with a table across from us before taking their order. Third waitress walked by us a few times. When I asked to order, she pointed at the other two waitresses. When I tried to get the yappy waitresse's attention, she pointed to the other one. Then, when the surly one finally came over (the one who had been chatting up front, she told us she had food to deliver. I asked three people to take our order, that we had to get our order in as I had a noon appointment. We ended up just leaving. When I was a waitress, if someone indicated several times that they needed to order, I would take that order to "help" my co-worker and then still turn the table over to him or her. Sheesh. We'll never go back. If the Pancake House is closed, we will go somewhere else. read more

Best biscuits and gravy I've ever had. I usually judge a breakfast place by biscuits and gravy and oatmeal. This gravy was peppery, smooth and rich. The biscuits were fluffy and obviously made from scratch. The place was packed and it took a while to get our food because it was so busy, but so worth the wait. Cheerful staff very proud of the delicious fare the kitchen puts out, especially the cinnamon rolls, made fresh daily. Old fashioned breakfast where everyone was eating and talking without a cell phone in sight. Harkens back to a different era. Order the Southern and you'll be satisfied all day. read more

Found this place on my Garmin whilst looking for a breakfast driving through Longview on our way home from the Oregon coast, so we headed in that direction. Old style family restaurant, off the beaten path but not too far from the main drag and definitely popular amongst the locals which is always a good sign. All booths, no table/chair setups, good size servings, fast and friendly service. I didn't dare order my Herbal tea in that place, I thought we already stood out enough as it is, LOL. Good 'ol American Family Restaurant! No complaints. Giving it four stars because it was good for what it was, wish I took some pics so you could see it's not a pretty place but I've eaten in hundreds of places like that acoss the United States and I can't complain about this one. read more

This place is awesome. My grandparents are regulars, and now my husband and I cannot get enough. Our bill is normally $30 after tip, and we typically leave stuffed, or with leftovers. That said, if there were a private category for this type of restaurant, I would attest Omelettes & More is best of breed (especially for the area). Sit at the counter. The food here is pretty good depending on the day. My one complaint is often we are told after we sit down and get our coffee " hope you aren't hungry it's gonna be a long time" I just don't feel like this is the best opening line. My favorite item on the menu is Virginia Biscuits and Gravy. Hands down, this place has the best gravy in town. We have been all over Longview, Kelso for breakfast, and although at times we have been served some good breakfast other places, I believe that the menu prices are better here. We also like that they offer different specials all the time. I had read another review of another patron, whom said that the place seemed, grimy and dirty, and I was shocked. I find this place to be one of the cleanest in town. My mother and I always feel super welcome here, visiting a few times a week. We have never had a bad experience with the staff. On a Sunday I believe we had to wait for a bit to sit down and our food took awhile to receive, but it was still hot. The place was packed. We would recommend, over and over. read more

This is a little breakfast place right by my house. My family has always loved it and it's always been reasonably priced with generous portions. I've noticed lately that they've changed their menu around and always raised the prices, slightly (I have no issue with this. It's natural for any business to do this. Especially with the price of not only employing people but also the cost of running the place and cost of inflation, and rising costs of everything. Including the big increase in wages.) Our breakfast was amazing the last time we went(we went last Saturday on August 19th) and everything was good EXCEPT the scrambled eggs. For some reason, a small percentage of people like their scrambled eggs cut up into tiny, tiny pieces. I firmly believe these types of people are sociopaths(totally kidding!) The cooks on this specific day had chopped up scrambled eggs into such tiny pieces I couldn't even scoop them and keep them on my fork! Please, please, PLEASE stop chopping up scrambled eggs. Food was decent. Prices were fantastic. Service was horrible! Our waitress (named Cheryl I think) only showed up at our table to take our order, and she was rude about that! She didn't come and check on us once. The hostess and other wait staff took care of us but Cheryl didn't. We saw and heard her though. You could hear her from across the restaurant bad mouthing and ordering around her coworkers left and right. I don't know if she's a manager but if so she's a bad one. Customers don't need to hear that! I've never seen a waitress as unprofessional as this! If I ever go there again (that's a BIG if!) and Cheryl is there. I'm leaving immediately and going to the Chinese place down the road. Like I said the food was good and the prices are great, but that particular waitress is horrible.
