Chile Relleno Plate and chips and salsa

Excellent customer service and delicious food! Loved the ambiance too! First time here and will definitely be back!

I need to talk about how it.. how is this place not more popular? Did I stumble into a secret hidden gem or what?? OMG Cocina is nestled in the middle of an apartment complex! It was so cute walking up to it and seeing that there are also other businesses in this bottom retail space. We came in for lunch and devoured our foood and drinks. Everyone was so nice and there was a decent amount of seating! We ordered guacamole as an appetizer, chicken tacos and enchiladas. The enchiladas were my favorite I over that I got a difference sauce for each one (red, green and mole) I'll be seeing more of this place!

Chicken Enchilada Plate - modified to all red sauce and no sour cream. Meh.

Decided to try this place for Cinco de Mayo. Service was friendly and location was close to work, but sadly, that's all the compliments I can give. I ordered the chicken enchilada plate that comes with a side of rice. I modified the order to not include cilantro and no sour cream. That means no salsa and I got all red sauce and no green sauce since the green sauce is blended with cilantro. The red sauce tasted very tomato bisque-like. It would have been good with a grilled cheese sandwich. Like another reviewer noted, the chicken in the enchilada comes as little diced cubes and was overcooked and dry. My bad for expecting shredded chicken. Others in my party also noted lack of flavor in their chicken burrito and shrimp burrito and weak drinks (margaritas). We tried to like this place, but it missed the mark.

The chicken taco salad was made with tiny diced chicken. Taco Bell kind of quality. Meh I asked for carbonated water and they offered me tap, then I pointed right behind her at it. No salsa offered, when I asked they said "what kind"? I said "red" not having any idea what they had. Meh I spent about $18 w the tip. This is a Mexican restaurant? No bueno. Nice music tho.

Overall, this place was really good. The vibe is super nice when you come in. The employees were super nice and friendly. The food was really good and had a lot of flavor. Definitely, will be coming again.

Three taco plate - al pastor, carne asada, and carnitas (left to right) - $6

Superb Mexican restaurant in downtown Sacramento across from the CNRA. In the area for a conference, I had parked all day at the multistory parking lot nearby. I decided to get an early dinner before driving back to the Bay Area. Very happy I did. There was no line when I got there a few minutes after 5. I ordered three tacos - al pastor, carne asada, and carnitas - as I wanted something light, and was pleasantly surprised that it only cost $6!!! I sat at an indoor table instead of at the counter or outdoors (it was chilly), relaxing after a long day, eagerly waiting for my meal. I people watched as I waited, and waited, and waited some more. There was a boisterous 20-person office party seated outside, another 6 person ladies-only group, plus a couple of to-go customers ahead of me. Nevertheless, I didn't expect it to take almost an hour to be served! When the food did arrive, I was irritable and famished. But all was forgiven the moment I bit into my first taco - the al pastor. OMG. It was a taste of taco heaven!!! I dispatched it quickly, and then dug into the carne asada and carnitas tacos. They were also superb. Complex flavors, just the right proportion of meat to veggies, with a deliciously tangy sauce! I will be certainly be back for more OMG Cocina deliciousness next time I'm in Sactown!

Menu with amazing prices!

First time checking out OMG Cocina and it did not disappoint! I ordered the chicken taco plate and was shocked with how much food came out for $15, it was quite the feast and absolutely delicious! The flavor of the tacos was delicious and the baked cheese on the shells was a yummy touch. Will certainly be back when in the area!

This Instagram ready minority family owned place just turned one on 12/26/23. I do have to admit it is a little hidden from the street. There is public parking all around, don't forget to pay on the app or at the kiosk. Our server was so friendly and was the son of one of the owners. He and his mother are so proud of their place. The verdes and Rojas sauce for the chilaquiles are made in house. I found my verdes chilaquiles was excellent! The sauce was flavorful, the eggs were perfectly cooked and the potatoes were spiced nicely. The large plate was hard to finish but I tried! The pozole was perfect on this rainy day, it was generous in the ingredients. The cheese dip with the chips was ok, not spicy so I would suggest adding chorizo or jalapeño. They have a beer and wine license so they serve micheladas rimmed with tajin, yum! I had the pineapple cucumber Agua Fresca was delicious. We hope to return and give this family more business.

Al Pastor Taco

Green chicken pozole Green pozole is quite rare in Sacramento, so I wanted to try it. It's not worth it. The broth had no flavor; I didn't taste the tomatillo, chilis, or chicken broth. There are no complex and strong flavors that pozole is known for. The chicken and broth taste like they weren't stewed together but cooked separately. The chicken tasted pre-cooked, and then broth was added when served. Adding the oregano, cabbage, lime, and reddish did not help it. There were barely any hominy: one every 3rd bite. The portion size is quite small as well for $15. Usually, it fills up 2 people, but it is only enough for 1 person. Al Pastor Taco You can taste the quality of the pastor, but it just didn't have enough oil or spices. It was alright.

This is one of our favorite lunch spots for in office days. They get busy during the lunch hour so expect a line. Service is pretty quick and the food is delicious! I would recommend the shrimp or fish tacos. So good!! Also, they have cute decor inside for photo ops

Street tacos

I visited this restaurant on a Monday evening. It was not busy and is located in a living complex. The staff was inconsistent with service. The waitress who initially assisted provided my table with the happy hour menu and the regular menu. The waiter who took our order did not want to honor the happy hour menu stating that it is no longer happy hour. After checking in with another staff, they honored any orders from the happy hour menu. The water needed to be filtered better. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. The food was just okay. I tried the street tacos, guacamole with chips, and nachos with chicken. The street tacos had an ample amount of meat, but was lacking in seasoning and flavor. There was just a small dollop of a a red sauce. The asada was too chewy. The tacos came with a wedge of lime and two thin slices of radish. It could use avocado sauce and more cilantro. The guacamole needed more salt. The chicken nachos were decent.

You're greeted with a fun atmosphere, friendly staff, and an energy that makes you excited to be there. Since the restaurant was especially busy, we chose to sit at the bar. There was no wait, and the high-top seating was surprisingly comfortable. Our server was welcoming and attentive, and the service was fast from start to finish. Between the great music and lively atmosphere, you can't help but want to dance while you eat! I ordered one of my favorites--the chicken sope. It was perfectly crispy on the outside while still soft and fluffy on the inside. The chicken was packed with flavor, and the rice and beans were just as delicious. The salsa that came with it was the perfect finishing touch, adding just the right amount of spice and an extra kick of flavor. My hubby ordered one of the carne asada dishes (so sorry, I forgot the name!). He said it was one of the best cuts of meat he's had at a Mexican restaurant in a long time--super tender, juicy, and full of flavor. We had such a fun night! I definitely recommend Rosa Madera--10/10 for a date night, girls' night, or any excuse to enjoy great food and an even better atmosphere.

The food was phenomenal, and the service once we arrived was friendly and attentive. The inside is sooo cute! I absolutely loved the decor. Everything is decorated so uniquely, and it makes the whole experience feel special. The atmosphere is fun, welcoming, and perfect for celebrating with friends and family. The only downside was that it was difficult to get in contact with the restaurant beforehand. I tried calling several times to make a reservation, but no one answered, and one call was even disconnected. Their website also only allows reservations for up to four people, even though they clearly accommodate larger celebrations for friends and families. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and in person service were amazing. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back!

Complimentary corn tortilla chips, salsa, and refried bean dip with cheese. I loved the REFRIED BEAN DIP! I ordered the Steak a la Chicana. I didn't read or listen carefully enough that the skirt steak with sauteed onions and bell peppers are covered in Spanish sauce. The sauce is actually quite tasty with a little kick. I used it and the salsa to flavor the black beans. However, I really just wanted grilled steak. I should have ordered steak fajitas, a grilled steak burrito or quesadilla, or a carne asada plate. The Steak a la Chicana was a generous portion, which is definitely 2 meals for me. Cilantro rice wasn't anything special. The SWEET CORN TAMALITO is yummy comfort. Choice of beans: refried beans, black beans, or pinto beans. I suspect refried beans is the tastiest option. El Tapatio would be a great gathering place for friends and family. It's located on Sunrise Blvd in Citrus Heights near See's Candies and other restaurants.

I visited this past Saturday and it was quite busy inside like it always is. The restaurant is large enough to fit a lot of people, so finding a seat isn't an issue. To order, you line up in front of the register and wait until they call you. Once it was my turn, I ordered a Super Burrito with Al Pastor, which is my favorite protein choice there. Usually I order 2 tacos with my burrito but I was saving room for Korean bbq that day! The Super Burrito comes with your choice of meat, rice, beans, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, and cheese. I also ordered a medium pineapple agua fresca, which paired perfectly with my burrito. After ordering, you're handed a number to take to your table so the servers know where to bring your food. As I'm waiting for my food, I helped myself to the self-serve chip bar. The chip bar is my favorite thing about the restaurant besides the food and quick service. I always get loads of both the white and red pickled onions, and some salsa to go with my chips. They offer many sides to choose from so that anyone can customize their meal to their liking. The pickled onions have the perfect level spice and acidity to them which helps with cutting down the greasiness you may get from a burrito. I also like to snack on them for fun too! The food comes out extremely quickly. When I finished placing my order and brought my number to my table, I went to the self-serve bar right after to get some chips. Not even 2-3 minutes later, I came back to my table with my burrito already there! The burrito was absolutely delicious and piping hot. It's the perfect size for me and eating it with the pineapple agua fresca and some chips makes it a perfect meal! Coming to La Favorita Taqueria is always a treat and I appreciate the quick customer service, self-serve bar, and delicious food! I highly recommend the Al pastor as your protein choice and honestly you can't go wrong with anything on their menu!

They didn't just walk by like frazzled, hurried workers like most restaurants pushing through the crowds. They actually gave me a nice smile and said welcome, and then walked by. And then I got to the reception area found that there was already a pretty big crowd at around the 5:30 PM or so I guess a lot of early birds come to eat there on Sunday. The receptionist asked for how many and said you'd be like a 20 minute wait and there was chairs where people were waiting but it was only like a 15 minute wait. The server was fast with the chips and salsa and ice water and then soon the waiter came and took my order. He was really quick and witty, fun to talk to. What I really enjoyed was as the noise of the table Near quieted down and they left. I saw a young man cleaning up the table and getting it ready for the next group of people. He was dressed really nice and had a tie on. Having been in restaurants most of my life I said to myself, I bet you he works with the owners or something. And I said to him, are your related to people that own the place ? he said my parents own this place. He was very friendly and polite. He told me a tiny bit about the restaurant and how everything had been since 1970, much older than he was, he was only a sophomore in high school I think. I never really got his name, but I was kind of proud of him because he was working hard at his family's restaurant. I ordered probably something bigger than I could eat because I had to take leftovers home, but it was really a tasty meal, and they're coming out with more chips and salsa without being asked, probably didn't help as well as a second lemonade. It's really impressive when you have a well oiled machine and it appeared to me that the people that worked there seem to be happy so that's always a good sign of good management. Several years back, I worked in the restaurant industry doing maintenance and repairs so I went to a lot of different restaurants and saw a lot of things so I know what to look for. I'm definitely gonna come back when my brother and his wife come up from the Bay Area my friend Ivan he'll wanna go there for lunch or dinner I know.
