Omiza exceeded our expectations. The stars of our meal were the Cha Soba Salad (pistachios, figs, and a dreamy dressing) and the Wagyu Beef and Galbi barbeque which were among the best we have had. Don't expect a traditional Korean barbeque experience, this is definitely a refined and elevated version that is focused on quality over quantity. The grill is also well-ventilated so our clothes did not smell like barbeque which was a plus! The restaurant itself is beautiful: spacious, airy, high ceilings and modern/minimalist decor. This was our first dine-in experience since the pandemic started and at no point did we feel uncomfortable or exposed to other diners. They also have outdoor seating under a canopy tent. Only reason I'm giving 1 stars is because the food is good, and the manager at the time we were there tried his best to fix it. First time there, had a reservation for a party or 18, got the back room.. everything was great, got our food rather quickly. We went on to order desert.. we waiting probably 15 mins then all the sudden the manager comes in and says hey sorry, there's a big party of 20 people the had a reservation for this room we need you to leave. We never got our desert. We left cause we felt bad and he gave us $100 gift card... forward a few weeks to tonight's reservation for the back room for 15 people which was made a week ago. Get the for the manager to tell us that they double booked and there's nothing she can do but make us wait for 30+ mins cause the people just got their food! WTF. First they kick us out cause they double booked, now we can't even get seated for a reset that we made a week ago cause they double booked! I have an idea for something you CAN do. Great food, and right in our hometown. Lunch special of 2 courses, including Misa soup. Both entres were outstanding. I had Pad Thai, my wife had Yokosoba or something like that. Both dishes were delicious. Service was fast, food came out hot, and the place is meticulously clean. Very well appointed bar, too. The owner spent some big bucks opening this place, and I hope he does well. Nice modern decor with clean lines, and high ceilings. Dramatic lighting. Highly recommended, and we will definitely be going back again. As a side note, I cannot understand the people who only rated this place 4 stars. They seem to have an ax to grind. Been here a few times and this by far was the my least favorite. It starts when you walk in and the people who work the front counter aren't the most inviting. The food is generally good. However the service is lacking. I ordered my meal and the wrong thing was given. I told the waitperson I did not order this. She gave me a blank look and said but is it ok. I said I did not order this again. I realized she was not going to make it right so I just said it's fine. As the meal progressed we had this other young person filling our water glasses. He proceeded to knock over a full glass of sake then just ran away from the table without saying anything. Went to eat here on a Saturday. Took hostess forever to come up front and by the time she came she said she couldn't seat us because last seating was @ 2.15. It was 2:16 and she said she couldn't serve us. Can't believe any restaurant let alone a new one would provide this level of service. We were so disappointed. I am sad to say Omiza didn't meet up to the hype. The restaurant is very pretty and they made a nice outdoor seating to increase seating outside. The restaurant is large so can definitely seat a lot when able to do. They have a full bar with great selection. The drinks were pretty good and not watered down. I love the clever names. However, the food just didn't meet my expectations. They had several sushi options and that too with brown rice which is a great healthy option. However, the sushi, ginger and wasabi just weren't as flavorful as they sounded on the menu. The chicken satay was pretty good but the chili sauce just wasn't that flavorful. The Thai red curry similarly was weak- it just tasted really watered down. I also wasn't a fan of the fried chicken or tofu on the side - literally no flavor :/ The tofu ramen was more flavorful but I wished there was more broth and the tofu was done well. Finally the chicken bulgogi just tasted like Chinese garlic chicken with msg - just too salty for my taste. I was a little frustrated by the two menus and what was/wasn't available but our waiter was really nice and willing to find answers to all our questions. I want to give them props because I think Doylestown needs more upscale Asian restaurants (all ethnic restaurants for that matter) but I think they have kinks to iron out - most importantly to pick out some key menu items and just do it really well! Food is identical to Oishi and KO in Newtown-- always good. 2 stars because I ordered take out with ramens and the broths completely spilled inside the bag and were inedible. Packaging is terrible and there's even a hole in the lid... Very disappointing. I've also called several times on weekend and during week and no one answers the phone. Website for online ordering has also been unavailable several times. They've missed out on a good number of orders because of these issues. Hopefully they can overcome these growing pains. While we were excited to try this new restaurant, upon arriving, the host stand was a mess. There was no keeping track of who checked in and who was first. The host clearly had no experience and no direction from higher ups. We waited 30 minutes past our reservation to be seated at a bbq table(even though we weren't doing bbq) which had been open the entire time and continued to see this trend happen to other parties. All the waiting could have been avoided if we were just seating at the bbq table upon arrival. Upon being seated it took 10 minutes for our server to make his way to our table to take our drink order. It the. Took another ten minutes to get water and a few more for our cocktails. While the food was good there service and managerial direction was definitely lacking and really took away from the entire experience. Hopefully they will figure it out. read more

I called to order a pickup around 230ish, come around 3:05 only to find out that doors are closed and someone turned off their phone system and no one would open the door for me to get my pickup order. No one informed me I have to be there before 3 Or that they close the actual restaurant at 3-430. maybe have your workers let your customers know on the phone. I had high hopes for Omiza but it fell a little short. My family and I opted for outdoor dining due to Covid but I think this affected the service and attentiveness we would have received had we dined inside. To start, our drink order eventually arrived with my husbands Martini having been spilled on the tray as the server walked towards us. No offer of a refill was made. Waters were not replenished regularly unless we heckled a waiter. The starters didn't arrive all together and we had to remind the server that we hadn't received two of them! Two of the soups also contained no tofu whatsoever which meant they were pretty much hot stock water. Disappointing. The rest of the dishes came out fine but the whole experience was just average. We really enjoy Ooka and so compared everything to Ooka. There was no comparison. We will most likely try Omiza again once we can resume regular indoor dining without Covid risk since they are new and I like to give restaurants another attempt once they've ironed out the kinks. read more

My boyfriend and I were having a crappy night. We had been all over Doylestown trying to find a nice place to eat. We were about to give up when we saw Omiza. It's a new place so we thought, why not try it? We were so glad we did! The food, service, and ambiance was awesome! Loving good Korean food option around Doylestown! From their coconut soup and to the Bi Bim Bap - just great!!!

Firstly I want to point out that this restaurant is beautiful and the food is quite good. My family have been customers in all three of the owner's restaurants through the years but were originally most thrilled with this newest one because the menu was intriguing and varied. That being said, what has taken place fairly recently with pricing astonished us. We would order items from the menu and then when the wait staff would deliver the bill, there would always be discrepancies. The prices would continuously be higher than the menu had indicated. Initially when this started, the staff at the counter would somewhat adjust the price. Then a month or so ago, a sign appeared at the front desk saying the prices on the menu were not indicative of the actual charges for the items. It said to consult the server! We talked to our server the last time we were there and she truly did not know what the computer would be charging for various items! The corker is the owners recently made new permanent menus and kept the former prices which they easily could have adjusted to make their price rise apparent to the customer! They did not do this. To me, it seems immoral at best to deceive the customer as to the true cost of the items they are ordering. Apparently it is not illegal in Pennsylvania to do this! I believe that's why the owners are brazen enough to initiate this policy. We realize that prices are rising everywhere but there is no good reason to play games with your customers! Tell the customer the true prices and let them decide if they want to order a particular item. Maybe I grew up in a kinder, gentler world but to me, there is no need for this dishonesty. I am very disappointed with this new tactic of the ownership! This is shameful. read more

We always loved Oishi but since we moved to doylestown, it was kind of a hike to drive to Newtown. We couldn't be more thrilled that Omiza opened right down the road from us. It is absolutely beautiful inside. So modern and the staff is so friendly. The menu is very similar to Oishi's which is great because there are some staples we love (ie. the edamame purée dumplings & crispy crunchy rolls). So glad their third location is a minute from our home. We will definitely be recurring customers, eating there and getting takeout a lot! read more

I very rarely write a review, especially in today's challenging environment. But, after my first and last meal at Omiza I felt a need to share as the challenges seem much more managment related and hopefully should be easily resolvable. On the good side, decor is beautiful. Regarding staff, lack of a dress code took away from the high end feel and while everyone was very nice, there was a complete lack of knowledge regarding the menu and options. Even when asked questions, answer was "I don't know" rather then "let me check." Menu was extensive but sushi options were very limited and we were challenged to find two specialty rolls that were not cooked. Of the two rolls ordered the raw one one was extremely fishy to the point that it was inedible. They did allow us to return and replace with another roll choice but that replacement was also below average. It would be nice to have another good option is town so hoping they can resolve the issues. read more

I had such high hopes for Omiza. But this was a let down. We planned a double date for my husband's birthday to try the Korean BBQ and sushi menu. Omiza's menu is on the pricier side, so I assumed this was a nice restaurant. However, (to make a long story short) the service was absolutely horrible. It took 30 minutes to get our first round of drinks and our server was rude to us all night. We ordered a second round of drinks, of the same cocktails, which took another 25 minutes, and the drink tasted nothing like the original. We told the server. The server returned with the bartender who refused to make another drink. My friend was told, in front of everyone, that this drink was correct and that she was mistaken. Keep in mind, these cocktails are $12 and they are not large glasses. The korean BBQ was good. The specialty sushi rolls were fresh and good - which is why i gave two stars. Let's call a spade a spade- for the price tag that comes with a night out at Omiza, the service needs to step it up. read more

I was excited during the lengthy build-out of Omiza, and hopeful that there might finally be some decent Asian cuisine coming to D-Town. Alas, our quest continues. Omiza focuses primarily on Japanese and Korean dishes, with a bit of Thai thrown in. We ordered a lot of food, trying to touch on all three to get a good gauge of what they do well, and what they don't. One thing to note, when placing the order online, I was initially told it would be ready in 30-35 minutes. Only after submitting the order and paying for it, was this updated to 60-65 minutes. Not really a problem for us last night, but had we had later plans, it would have been an issue - particularly in the light of the fact that I waited an additional 20 minutes after the specified time to actually get our food. So, basically it took nearly 1.5 hours to prepare our order. So, that means it had to be really good, right? Right? Unfortunately, no. Pretty much everything was bland and Americanized to the point of having no character. Nothing was patently inedible or offensive, but nothing stood out as particularly good, either. One umbrella complaint is that there was a dearth of veggies in everything. Veggie dumplings were as flat as pancakes and tasted of nothing but wonton skins. Omiza Soba with veggies in garlic sauce featured a scant handful of broccoli flowerettes and a few snow peas with no discernable garlic flavor from the sauce. The Salmon Poke salad was watery and limp. We ordered two sushi rolls - one cooked (Dynamite Alaska Roll) and one raw ("Chef's special II") and while neither was bad, necessarily, both were pretty uninspired. The Crispy Chicken entree was okay, although the chicken was heavily overcooked and the sweet sauce harkened to strip-mall sesame chicken. The best dish was probably the Corn Kakiage, which is basically corn kernels gathered in batter and deep fried, so what can go wrong, right? Without a doubt the worst dish was the Pad Thai. Despite choosing "hot" from the spicing options presented, this solid gelatinous wad of noodles wasn't just "not hot" it had no flavor at all. The few incredibly overcooked slivers of chicken, resembling cardboard in flavor and texture, did the dish no favors. So, while it appears that Omiza is not the Asian restaurant Doylestown needs, based on the fact that the entire restaurant was packed to the gill, COVID be damned, it is apparently the Asian restaurant we deserve. read more

Couldn't wait to try this restaurant as a friend in Newtown had been to your sister restaurant many times and your location once prior and said it was really good. But, i have to say we had a few issues. My friend was totally shocked as this was the first time it was truly not good for her either. Hopefully this note will help you do better as I did like my meal and thought it was very tasty. The real issue was the server - perhaps it was just a bad night or she was too busy (that happens), but she was not a very friendly waitress at all. If a server is busy or they know things may take a bit longer - just be honest and friendly and at least offer to refresh drinks while waiting? But... The one issue that you really need to address ASAP is how your servers bring food out. Use a tray please. She carried glasses out. She even carried my miso soup out and my friends salad. I don't want someone's fingers or thumbs in my soup - ugh! I did see other servers carrying trays so if you need more, get more please! soups, salads, drinks and side sauces shouldn't be carried out alone. it's much classier to use trays. Also, the dinner was not hot. People mostly like their dinners hot, not luke warm. Like i said , it was good and I didn't send it back because it was very busy and chalked this all up to her inexperience and lack of staffing perhaps. Looking forward all week to Korean BBQ... unfortunately it was extremely underwhelming . We ordered the pre fix which was more than enough meat for 2 however they were extremely sparse with the sides letting us know that we could only have 2nds of a few of them ... Not at all my experiences with other Korean BBQs where they make sure your small plates are always filled . Now let's get to the flavors and taste .... I would call it "Korean Light " as the base of the marinates and pickled flavors were there just not strong or pungent enough to what I've grown accustomed to with classic Korean BBQ. The Kimchi 3 way small plates ( honestly the hallmark of any korean restaurant) were all watery and lacking of any depth of flavor . I'm not sure if it's a recalibrated for local taste but by no means was this authentic by any stretch . The service was fine and was appreciative of the venting in the room that I didn't walk out smelling like a bbq pit . Most every plate that the food was served on was chipped which is not a attractive way to serve food at any price . I understand they are calling this "modern Asian " but i do not think that flavor and authenticity should suffer to be modern . The management has paid a lot of attention to the look of this restaurant but seems to have overlooked the quality of the food. read more

My husband and I knew after trying Omiza on the opening day, we had to go back with our family when celebrating a special occasion yesterday. We made reservations and kept telling our family how great of an experience it was. To say the second experience was a let down is an understatement. We were seated outside and it took 30 minutes for us to be greeted by a server (even after notifying the hostess we had been waiting for some time). By the time our server came, we were ready to place our drink, appetizer, and entree order. We ordered a total of 3 appetizers. However, when our salads and appetizers came out they excluded one salad and an appetizer. When we asked the server about our missed appetizer she said, "You didn't order that" and walked away from the table without any apologies or anything. Which at that point, we didn't want the appetizer because we waited nearly an hour for the appetizers. We then got our meals, one entree was excluded from our six person table. Our waitress assured 'Oh I'll be right back with your meal' but never returned to the table. By the time the other meal came out, the 5 of us had completed our entrees. Our server eventually came back to clean plates after never checking in since getting our food, only to leave her serving tray on our table (literally in the space of two guests). Even when dropping our bill off, coming back to get the cash for the check, the server never once removed the serving tray from the table. Aside from the service, the food was amazing. The quality of food is great and there is a large selection of meals to choose from. Very disappointed by the service because we really truly love the food at Omiza! read more
