Enjoyed the sushi of course and a lot of fun appetizers and cooked entrees. Big fan of the chicken bao bun and the spicy crunchy tuna hand roll. We dined inside and it felt very safe and clean. My husband and I keep coming back for the quality and taste of the food. Every time we are surprised by the inexperienced servers. From not knowing the drink options, to the food menu. We brought friends from out of town last night and our soup or salad was not offered and forgotten. The edamame was served right out of the fridge and completely cold. I ordered a diet coke which literally had 2 ice cubes in it. Sushi was served and we had to ask for side plates and soy sauce. It comes down to poor management. The servers are all nice but clearly inexperienced and not trained. It is 100% on the management. Omiza has the potential to be a great restaurant...we hope to see a change should we decide to dine there again. With some training this would easily be a 4 or even 5 star rating. read more

We just love this place. The food is divine! We come mostly for lunch. The bento boxes are delicious and provide many choices - we discovered the roasted crispy brussels sprouts. Also the Thai green curry is fragrant and not to hot & not too mild - just right. Reasonable prices for a lunch of this quality. We have had careing & attentive waitresses but we have also had some arrogance from the front desk and one busboy- server. I hope these youngsters get some training in being nice to customers - it does reflect in their tip! read more

This restaurant was a lot of fun! I sat on the BBQ side and started off by enjoying about eight small plates and appetizers with my party before we started grilling. The edamame dumplings were my favorite! So much so, that I placed another order :) My partner particularly enjoyed the corn fritter and spicy rice cakes. The wings were a delight as well! After that, we tried the waygu, the filet, the ribeye, the pork belly, and short rib too, all super yummy, but I'll probably stick to the filet when I go back. Our server John was a sweetie as well. I rarely provide feedback but felt this is worth mentioning for any other patrons that frequent Omiza in Doylestown. My husband and I typically order takeout at the minimum, once a week and the food is always wonderful (no complaints there), a few mistakes in the past but nothing worth noting. We ordered take out on 04-Sept for lunch and we should have known an issue would transpire when the young gentlemen told us on the phone he is new and was struggling to take our 4 item order. We picked up the food shortly thereafter and when we got home we noticed what we originally ordered and was charged (Shrimp Tempura Supreme I - $14.00) was not included; in place of it was Shrimp Tempura ($6.00 list price per the menu). I was perfectly fine with the deviation of my order; however, I wanted the $8.00 difference in price refunded. At that point, I called back to tell them of the error and the young gentlemen who originally took my order picked up the phone, in which I summarized the issue. He told me he can't do anything about it right now, and I will have to wait for a manager to call me back to issue a void on my credit card, so I left my name and contact information. Two days passed and no call back and no void on my card. I then called again to which the young lady who answered told me she needs a manager to handle this situation; to which again, I summarized the issue and stated that I have indeed been waiting for a manager to call me back. To no avail, I called again this afternoon, to which I received the same answer...a manager needs to handle this. At this point I'm becoming increasingly frustrated with the young staff that don't appear to be understanding my frustration. I decided to drive to Omiza this evening (08-Sept) to speak directly to 'anyone' at this point, who can help me get my $8.00 refunded. I approached the young woman at the counter and explained who I was and how I've now left 3 different messages across 3 different days, to which no one will assist me. Her response was quite shocking, "The manager is managing 3 different restaurants, and you need to realize that." To my shock, she was EXTREMELY arrogant, obnoxious, and exceedingly condescending. She told me that a manager can only do refunds. I question this policy simply by stating, "If I were to order food at this moment, and you incorrectly ring me up, would you refund my credit card?" She simply stated "Yes, of course," to which I simply asked her if she sees the irony and asinine logic in the situation. At this point, all of the young staff (servers, and hostesses decided to crowd around her like a mob) are glaring at me as if I am trying to get one over on Omiza (I simply want my $8.00 which was Omiza's error in the first place). A server told me if I order food, they'll credit me next time, to which I declined and simply again stated, "I just want my money at this point." She decided to leverage the awkward silence and stare maneuver, as if she couldn't do anything more at this point. I told her I want my refund, period, and I'm happy to wait while she calls a manager, any manager at this point (I suggested refund the $14.00 and charge me $6.00, I don't care how you do it, but I want my $8.00). At that point she said she had to call her manager. Now the young staff are all talking in a circle behind the counter as if I'm not standing right there (again, extremely unprofessional, patronizing, obnoxious, and arrogant). She hovers over the phone without picking up the handset, and at this point an older woman appears from the kitchen and just tells her to give me the $8.00 out of the register...finally, some relief (thank you to whoever you are!). Surprising that a restaurant of Omiza's caliber would employ such young, arrogant, and obnoxious front desk staff. You would think I was trying to steal $8.00 from the pockets of the hostess/young lady at the counter. I've never felt a more condescending attitude from a restaurant than today. Again, I am truly shocked Omiza is OK with how their restaurant is apparently being run in the absence of management (apparently by obnoxious children, because that is how they act), and by default the face of Omiza when you call or walk in. (Remember, all 3 instances across 3 different days from early afternoon until evening, when I called, the front counter stated a manager was not there). This was our second visit to Omiza in Doylestown. We planned this as our joint anniversaries dinner for five. Last time we ate in the main dining room and had sushi and other fare. This time we decided on Korean BBQ. We had reservations on a Saturday and were seated promptly. Our server, Albert came over and gave us an overview and took our cocktail orders. The cocktail menu is well curated with interesting combinations that follow a "Family" theme. I chose The Elder Son, others tried Wife 2.0 and Man's Best Friend. The pink color of Mans Best Friend was striking. We ordered a few sashimi and sushi appetizers and put in our order for the Korean BBQ. Two Omiza's Butchers' Feasts plus Crispy Pork Belly and The Snake River Wagyu. Each of the feasts serves two. Food arrived and each platter was clearly explained. Ribeye, Filet and Short Rib on one. Chicken, Ribeye and short rib on the other. The Crispy Pork Belly arrived in a cast iron skillet. We started cooking after the Beef Tallow fire show, where they grease the grill with a chuck of Rib Cap. (Oooo, Ahhhhh). About halfway through, Albert checks in. I ask about the Wagyu. He pauses and indicates it was on the tray with the other meats. I beg to differ. He goes to kitchen and returns, assuring me we already ate it. I ask for a manager. Manager defends server and kitchen but only after I start to create a fuss, relents and delivers an order of Wagyu. We cooked and ate the Wagyu last and savored it. We realized later, after leaving that the Wagyu thing was INTENTIONAL and not a mistake. We have a picture of the platter before we started eating. No Wagyu in sight. I appreciate that they offered to provide the order for this $50 portion. That's right, 14, half inch cubes for $50 and they tried to convince us we already ate it. The place is nice, the prices a little high for the area but its a great experience. I gave the three stars because everything else was very good. Wondering if anyone else got phantom Wagyu? Hope to get a response from management. BTW, this entire situation could have been reversed by not being defensive, not declaring that we were wrong and making up for it in some way. The total bill, including tax and tip was $430. I will probably not go again. Trust is important. read more

This place was definitely needed in Doylestown. Hidden gem with an Asian flair. Korean BBQ, Sushi and Bao Buns galore. Came here for lunch and got the Omiza Butchers Feast to share. I asked the waitress who didn't understand why when they didn't put the spicy sauce on it. she checked with the back only to return and say that "the tuna has a spicy marinade on it, but it shouldn't be that spicy. and let me know if you need any boxes". needless to say the tuna did not get eaten and it was a terrible meal. My family of five have been regulars at Omiza for almost 2 years eating there up to 4 times a month. We would always bring our friends and out of town guests there to enjoy a great meal with stellar service. In the last year the service and food has significantly gone downhill. They offer a lot of GF items which is why I originally loved dining there. Katie was our regular server and she was always on point. Served us with a smile, knew our allergies, and was quick with our food. After Katie left, we realized she was unique. We have yet to have the kind of service we were used to. Food is cold when we receive it, the quality in the food has gone down, and the service is horrible. Last week we ordered food to-go. When we brought it home, the food was completely wrong and we were over charged. With my family being hungry and living 15 min away, we ate what we had been given. Then tonight I took my 3 kids to dinner at 4:40pm. There were only 3 other people in the place so it was not busy at all. I watched 3 servers wander around and checking on the three other tables while we had yet to be greeted after being seated. Then all the servers were hanging around the front desk looking like they had nothing to do. I even made eye contact with all 3 servers and kept looking around to see who was going to take our order. After sitting there for 20 min, we got up and left. I notified the host what happened and it's like she didn't care. This was not the first experience with dining in and to-go that were lackluster but it will be our last. If I'm spending a minimum of $100 on a meal, I expect to at least be greeted at my table within 5 min of sitting down. It's the standard steps of service most restaurants require their servers to uphold. Obviously it's not a priority at Omiza or we wouldn't have had terrible service the many times we have dined there since Katie left. read more

Service has always lacked, now food quality is down! They still have a staff of high schoolers, so do not expect to get your water refilled, or a $9 drinking either! I honestly wish they were BYO! This last time I ordered a meal and was given an appetizer. A normal waiter/waitress would confirm if someone ordered an app as a meal. My chicken came out ice cold in the middle and soggy, not crispy. Clearly it was pre cooked and microwaved, but not enough to heat the middle. The bus girl had to cash us out. This restaurant needs to hire all new staff or expect to go out of business. This is how good restaurants go under! read more

First time here. Ordered a beef bulgogi lunch box to go. I chose a small side salad instead of miso. Everything was good. The only issue I had was with the "salad." It was just a small clump of romaine with a few shredded carrots on top. That was pretty disappointing, especially when compared to other Korean and Japanese places I've ordered from. read more

Unfortunately our Saturday take out was very disappointing. Ordered online. When I arrived they were running late 10 minutes- ok no problem. Actually it was 30 minutes. When I got home, I found they left out the special role we ordered. And the miso soup was cold. I called to report this and was on hold fir 6 minutes and hung up. Unfortunately they are a victim of their own success. We will go back when someone else tells us that they have their act together. The food is delicious but the service is terrible. The orders have to wait at least 1 hour for pickup. On Saturday night, people were waiting 40 min on top of their normal pickup order wait time to get their order. No one checked in as people came in the door. They don't have buzzers nor a way to call or text people when their order is ready. They don't know how long an order takes to make so if they have a couple orders, someone said they were backed up for 20 min for those orders and my order would just come out in a moment. That's impossible right because those people were ahead of me. You're waiting indoors with everyone without masks in a small waiting area which isn't safe with COVID-19. Install buzzers or ways for texts and calls so people don't have to wait indoors, you're putting your customers at risk. Your food is good, but it's not that good. Food is maybe 3-4/5 depending on the dish. Update! The order was missing a couple items and didn't follow special instructions. In addition, I ended up waiting 40 minutes in that tiny space with 10-30 people all around me, some eating without masks. read more

It's new, it's nice, it's trendy.... but is it good? Sure it is , as long as you don't go to NYC the week before and have the world class sushi and wazyu they offer. We made a reservation after valet parking which is a nice touch. It was pretty busy , wide open space, very nice servers and hosts. Our little two top table was in the middle of the room with a tiny wall to one side blocking us from that side of the room. It works. Our server was a nice girl but didn't know anything about Sake so we took our chances and got first the cheap one then the expensive one, both which tasted better warm. My salmon was slightly dry and my sons sushi rolls were a bit large and a scoc uninspired, but we'll try it again since we want to give it another try.. one thing though, the Wazhu was only available in the Korean barbecue side, which to us didn't make sense because they didn't differentiate between sushi left and bbq right. I used to live in Newtown and always thought Oishi Was pretty good sushi. I ordered takeout today from Omiza and would have to say it was some of the worst sushi I ever had. They crammed 4 rolls into one container. With hardly any wasabi. And the rolls had an overly fishy smell. You could taste the fry oil on the spider roll (time to clean the fryer). The dumplings might as well been some frozen variety and of course there is zero parking so trying to get in and out is a nightmare. I'll continue my weekly trek to Chalfont Way better sushi at a way better price. read more

I have unpleasant experience when I had my birthday dinner at Omiza. when I order bento with 2 sides. I asked the same two sides (while the menu didn't say I can't), I was asked to pay extra. And manager refused to give an explanation. the fact is I just ordered that a month ago. It made me and my family unpleasant on my birthday dinner. The salmon was over cooked (charred and crusty) and the vegetables were nonexistent... there were a few shredded carrots and some other wilted green and a few slivers of zucchini over rice with about a tablespoon of Romain lettuce. Ordered Lunch Special Take-Out for the first time from this restaurant. We ordered Bento Beef Bulgogi, Kimchi & Tofu Ramen, and Beef Bibimbap. The Bento Beef Bulgogi came with avocado w. miso dressing and dynamite shrimp which were all super delicious. The Kimchi & Tofu Ramen came with the broth on the side and was very flavorful. The Beef Bibimbap was filling and the ingredients were very fresh. Overall, the quality and price of their lunch specials are great for what you get. This is the worst restaurant I have ever been to. In all of my years I have never yelled at anyone in a restaurant and I have always tipped 20% even when it wasn't great. I had to go get my own drink at the bar where I paid for it. The waitress charged me for it on my tab so my bill was wrong at the end. Every single thing I ordered was wrong. I have never had someone so stupid wait on me. I ordered 2 orders of sake salmon nigiri sushi. She brought me 2 salmon rolls. I ordered miso soup. She brought me some sort of soup that had meat in it. I don't eat meat. I ordered a spicy tuna hand roll. She brought me some weird cucumber encased hand roll that had what looked to be barley on it with a red sauce and roe. Then when the bill was wrong and no one was to be found I asked another waitress for help and she was a rude condescending b to me. I ended up letting the manager have it. I walked out. And I will never go back. I don't know how this place stays open. Nothing about it was enjoyable or good or right at all. read more
