We've been to this theater multiple times now since it reopened and last night was the most amazing show we've seen there for sure. We saw they were doing an event called concert Dome featuring the music of Radiohead performed by a live strings ensemble with amazing visuals! The strings on Ensemble was amazing excellent musicians and the visuals were pretty awesome too, our previous favorite show that we attended there was the Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon show which was great! Definitely recommend seeing a show here, they have something for everyone! read more

If I could do a 3 1/2 that is what I would rate them. Pros The show was amazing, 4 out of 5 stars but it was pricey $15 per person for a 25 minute show. Wish it was longer but it was a quality show, we saw Vast. Cons Parking cost almost as much as the show $12, didn't matter that we were going to be there less than 30 minutes. I think they should have different pricing if you are not going to the museum. They do offer concessions, I'm not sure of the cost because I wasn't going to spend extra funds for a short show. Will I go back, yes because I think it would be cool to see the dinosaur and shark shows too. But I also know it's going to be an investment. read more

Absolutely a great experience to enjoy some breath taking views from all angles! Wife and I have seen two of films shown and were impressed. Comfortable seating and a awesome staff who not only helped us but waited a short time to get us seated in area needed for my wife.The parking was the only thing that was a inconvenience due to a long walk from the back parking lot. There is a garage car lot that might have been suitable for a shorter walk. read more

I'd recommend a hard pass on the orbital and texas stars viewings. 100% AI generated and quite frankly, REALLY hard to follow. They still dont have the FW flyover at the start, a small teaser for what's to come, but I'll be checking closer on what to watch. Had our first Omni experience with my daughter not to long ago; first time I think I've been there in ages. I think the last time I went to a movie here was before the remodel of the museum, for the star wars exhibit. It was pretty much everything I expected of it, I don't really know if or what they remodeled of this area because much of it, at least inside the theater was the same. I think the area that you can buy tickets and concessions was updated, but it had been awhile. We saw a film on T-Rex which I thought I had seen before ... Once I looked it up after the movie, I had. When I was probably in middle school l cause the film is dated as came out in 1998. It surprised me that they were playing something that was 14 years old at a history/science museum but I figure most of the info is still up to date on it or they have not bought/had funding to buy something newer or a company hasn't made anything for the type of screen they have in a while. So its more than likely something they keep on hand on a regular basis when they don't have something newer or a big name something to play & they usually have at least one dinosaur themed movie going at any given time because of their dino dig. (Dark Knight wasn't out yet & not holiday season for Polar express, etc.) My daughter enjoyed the movie & ran straight for the dino exhibits after; so the movie had done its job for the museum end of things. She didn't like the steep stairs and thin isles & she did get a little freaked at the first instance of close up of a dino but after that enjoyed it when they did the extremely large close ups. We will for sure come back again for another film. read more

The Omni Imax is a great movie spot - they always have a variety of movies running at various times, a concession stand and a wicked viewing and hearing experience courtesy of 40 speakers and the Imax larger-than-life screen. Like the others said, the $5-$7 parking fee is lame, which can be avoided by parking on the other (North) side of the museum. It's a bit longer walk to the movie theater entrance, but that parking is typically free, particularly in the evenings. Lastly, the movie theater staff is great - friendly and eager to help, like the rest of the museum staff. read more

I'm not sure why this place isn't as popular as it should be. I have been here around 5 times and have enjoyed it every time, I usually don't get any food, but their prices look reasonable in comparison to other movie theaters, especially than the one I used to work at. Today I watched Night at the Museum for mid week movie night, which discounts tickets to $5. There was no parking fee because the movie was at 8PM and the museum closes at 5PM. I recommend to sit somewhere between the middle to top or else you'll be stuck with a sore neck from having to look up, and if you're scared of heights it can trigger you a little bit with some clips and views. Overall it is a very unique and fun experience and am definitely going again when other movies are showing. If you are touring around Fort Worth this place is a must, or if you have never been here. I enjoy this place better than most places more well-known and popular around Fort Worth indeed. read more

Don't go to this theater to watch a feature film. We drove across town to see The Dark Knight Rises in a true IMAX setting. Unfortunately, the dome shape made following the action impossible. Wow, amazes me people are complaining about the Omni yet still giving it 4 stars. No way, one star tops! Wen't and saw the Star Wars movie because my wife and father-in-law said it would be a neat way to see it. Well it wasn't, it was awful and had I been on my own I would have left. First off parking was $7, tickets were $14 each. Two small popcorn, two large cokes, and a pickle were $20.49. Total of $69.49 for 3 people sharing food. About $20 more than AMC Palace would have been. Next is the biggest problem was the seats are tiny! My shoulders were wider than the seat and two armrest combined resulting in very awkward and tight seating. I ended up resting my arm on the top of my coke or just crossing them, luckily I was next to my wife or it would have been tighter than a rushhour subway in NYC. On top of the tiny seats there is almost no room for your feet and legs, god forbid if you have someone that needs to get out and walk by. The entire time the persons feet and legs behind me kept hitting me in the head due to minimal room and the way the seating is designed. On top of all of this, the seating is not comfortable to lean back in. And the last problem was the view. We bought our tickets online so we didn't worry about showing up early. The nice thing was we didn't have to wait in line, the bad thing was we got really bad seats. But really, how bad could they be with a massive screen? Even side seats at AMC get you a pretty good view. Well not here, we were sitting on the far right side and the result was very strange view. Everything was distorted, people and buildings were bent and you'd have to rotate your head completely to the left in order to see if anything happened to be going on over there. Also there was a grid pattern on the screen that took a while to get used to. In the end....just don't do it! Pay your money and go to another theater, any theater! read more

The Omni Theater is a great experience. The theater has the largest screen that I have ever seen in any theater and is far larger than anything you can see without moving your head. Think planetarium! My family went to see "Deep Sea" and really enjoyed every part of it. The sound was amazing and the picture fantastic. While I do absolutely LOVE the theater, I do have to say that this movie they are currently showing is sub-par. It was an assault on my intellect. "Animalopolis" was its title. The whole thing was narrated in rhyme. Like a really bad uninteresting Dr Seuss wannabe. By the looks of the audience you could tell they had succeeded in reaching their demographic : ages 2 thru retarded Also,I had forgotten how compact the seating is in there. Unknowingly invading my personal space was a rotund fella who just happened to be an open-mouth breather in the seat behind me. Lol, apparently someone had horseradish on rye for lunch. So, later that night I took the kids to see avatar in 3D. THAT was a feast for the eyes!!! Loved it! Sorry omni theater, but you dropped the ball. read more

I think watching movies at home is BORING!! You have to go to the theater to get the big screen, big sound experience. Omni Imax is a one of a kind experience. The screen is a huge dome that surrounds you in picture. The sound is the best you will ever here. Not many feature movies but quite a few 40 minute films on different neat things. We saw Thrill Ride. Excellent! $7 to see the short films. Well worth trying. read more

This is an incredible theater and one that is unparalleled, at least in DFW. We have been going here for about 2 decades now. It is lots of fun and they recently made huge upgrades supported by donations and grants. Unfortunately, with those upgrades came parking fees. We used to be able to park here for free but every parking lot in the area now charges $5 per day. While that is not much compared to outrageous fees for other museums, it still is a shame considering FTW always had that extra little touch that makes the cities museums stand out. Now you must pay to park and pay to enter. The fees also went up inside too. Food went up by 50%. While it is still a great experience, I still think they should continue to stand out and offer parking for free. There is no reason for charging other than to nickle and dime people. read more

Not just an IMAX this is an OMNI and there is a big difference. It's not just a big screen, it wraps around you. Get there early to get a good place in line and sit near the projector, in the middle of the seating. After 29 years, this is still the best movie experience to be had. read more

The Omni theater at the Science Museum was always a favorite back when I lived in Cowtown, and I recently returned for a nostalgia visit. Omni is definitely worth a visit if you are in FW -- you'll get a chance to see what IMAX should be. As plenty of folks have already stated, Omni is in a dome rather than the "big flat screen" of the typical IMAX presentation. If you get a seat near the middle, it's a horizon-to-horizon view -- you literally have to move your head around. And while the idea of seeing a feature film (they were showing Interstellar at our last visit) sounds appealing, it can be difficult to watch a "normal" movie at an Omni, since you literally can miss things totally if you are looking in a different direction. I'd still do it -- just be prepared. The typical "sciency" IMAX films work better for this, since they are filmed with this format in mind. Best seats are just below or just above the projector lens. They're not reserved, so buy them online, and get there a minimum of 30 minutes before your showing to have a chance at a good seat. read more

Polar Express Pajama party time was not indicated on the ticket confirmation email upon purchase or on the ticket purchasing page. We stood in the rain and cold outside on the museum side, the entrance where the "museum" parking (rather than city parking) is located waiting to get in and then we get to the the theater and find out we missed the pajama party. People were outside waiting in the rain and cold and the rain employees just stared at the kids out there in the cold...couldn't even let them in the foyer area. This museum needs to get it together with all details on their website for special events. A reminder why we do not come here often and would rather make the drive to the Perot Museum. read more

Heard this was *the* place to see Star Wars. Sure. If you get good seats. We were in line an hour before it started and got horrible seats. So everything was stretched out and bent. And the lines of the screen were highly visible throughout the movie. And the dude behind me kept putting his feet on my chair (because and pulling my hair. Very disappointed. I'd like to come back and see one of their other shows that were actually made for this kind of screen. read more

If you have never been to the Omni Imax then you are missing out on a truly wonderful experience. I remember coming here back when I was in elementary school and being amazed by it. Even after all those years, it still holds up. The screen is a big dome which makes you feel like your in the movie. I saw "the living sea" here yesterday which in itself is an incredible film. Everybody should go see it. I think they stop showing it on the 26th. It's only $7 which is pretty good considering AMC charges $10.50 now for a so-so movie experience. If you want to truly immerse yourself in a film then go watch it at the Omni. read more
