Ramen was absolutely incredible. The broth was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced without being too heavy or salty. The noodles had the perfect texture and held the broth really well. Every topping tasted fresh, especially the soft-boiled egg and tender pork, which added so much depth to the dish. You can tell a lot of care went into every ingredient. Awesome bowl of ramen and a great portion size for the price you pay. I've been to tons of great ramen places and paid the same for smaller portions. The charsui is plentiful and cooked perfectly. Went to grab Katsu in the Irvine area and it did not disappoint! Located inside the H-Mart food court. Lots of parking and the food court was huge with lots of seating options. And the as very bright and could be lively when it gets busy. This place serves up different types of katsu. The lady at the counter was really nice and explained what each dish had because I didn't know what the king donkatsu was. And since I don't eat pork, I went with chicken. They do have fish or cheese option as well. I got the Chicken Katsu (Comes with rice, cabbage slaw, miso soup, and pickled radish, kimchi, and dipping sauce.) Love the portions for the price! And the best part.... It was light batter and extra crispy. The chicken was moist and HOT! So be careful to let it cool a bit. The miso soup was warm and comforting. The cabbage slaw was light and refreshing with a bit of creaminess to it. Compliments well with everything together. Dipping sauce was savory with a bit of umami. The pickled radish and kimchi gives it a nice crunch and spicy sour tang. Will be back again if in the area to try their ramen. read more

I couldn't decide what I wanted ... I sorta wanted ramen and I sorta wanted donkatsu ... So I tried the omari and udon combo as a pretty good compromise. I wish ramen were an option for the combi, but I settled for udon. I found it just ok. It could have had a little more flavor ... But I might be because what I really wanted was ramen. The guy told me that the difference between the king donkatsu and omari is that the donkatsu is larger but thinner. I found the omari really good. I liked the thicker cut of pork, and it was well cooked and juicy. I wish the breading had a butt more flavor, though. The salad was just ok. It was sliced a bit too thin for me and the dressing wasn't great. Still. .. a good meal. read more

Great selection, yummy food! I've had this spot a few times on my lunch break. This is located inside the hmart food court! I've had their tonkotsu ramen and their katsu. Both dishes were flavorful and very filling! The ramen has all the typical flavors and toppings you'd expect, which I think is a good thing as it's exactly what you'd want. The broth was delicious and everything was put together very well. The katsu is also very delicious. It was cooked through and nice and crispy, as you'd hope for a katsu plate. The service here is great! The workers are great at giving recommendations and answering any questions you may have. The food also comes out in a timely manner, too. Parking here is plentiful as it's part of a huge plaza. To find this spot, just go towards the left side of the hmart, as the food court has its own separate (but connected) entrance. Omori will be on your left side! Keep in mind that since this is inside the food court, the ambiance can be pretty loud, so bring headphones if you want to eat alone in peace or bring a friend! read more

The katsu here is so good, I didn't know what to expect at first but I was really amazed by the tenderness and juiciness of the inside, the outer layer was so crispy. The signature cheese katsu and chicken katsu were both very tasty but if there's one you need to true it's the cheese katsu, so cheesy! The Shrimp Tempura Udon is a simple dish but so satisfying and comforting, I love how the shrimp tempura came on the side so it's still crispy while I enjoy the udon and broth. Finally tried this newer addition to the HMart food court. Like its name would suggest, Omori has katsu and ramen. I got the chicken katsu, which came with miso soup, rice, salad and some pickled veggies. The chicken was pounded very thin, so it tasted mostly like the crispy breading (which was admittedly pretty good). The spicy miso ramen was the superior option. I typically go to the hmart on Irvine blvd but since I was closer to the one on Alton, I stopped by the food court to grab dinner. I didn't realize that the two stores had different vendors in the food hall. I ended up getting the chashu rice bowl. For some reason I was expecting it to be the red type you get at a Chinese restaurant and was surprised it was the Japanese style. I should have known better based on the fact that this place also served ramen. Overall the rice bowl was good with a good rice to meat ratio. I wish there was more veg to break up the richness. Since I ordered through u er it was bogo so It was a great value but not sure if I would get it again if I had to pay full price. read more

This was my 11-year-old's first time ordering his own ramen at a "restaurant." He was really excited (and hungry), so he ate most of it. But, when I tried a bite at the end, the noodle was really not cooked well enough. Forget about a nice chew, these were too hard and needed more cooking time. What the heck. He said the meat was cold initially, so I told him to mix it in the broth. The presentation was nice, but wow, I think they get the noodles in packages from Hmart, the really yellow noodles that have preservatives in it. My daughter got the udon, and that was $12.95. The service from the young guy could have been way better. Ambiance is just the food court area, and we usually go during non peak hours. We will not be returning. read more

Came here with my hubby to try the Cheese Katsu, and it did not disappoint. It came with four giant pieces--much larger than I expected. They seemed freshly made (which explains the slightly longer wait) and were loaded with stretchy, melty cheese. The outside was very crispy, but not too oily or overly thick. It also came with a bowl of miso soup, which tasted just right. We also ordered the potato croquettes, which came with two pieces and the same sauce as the katsu. The exterior was thin and crispy, while the inside tasted like pan-fried mashed potatoes. By sharing one Cheese Katsu meal and an order of potato croquettes, both of us left feeling full and satisfied. The service was just okay. The staff member didn't seem very engaged or attentive. We asked for an extra set of chopsticks, but he simply gave us two more. The wait time was also a bit longer than expected, so I wouldn't recommend coming during peak lunch hours if you're short on time. That said, parking was easy, there were plenty of tables, and I appreciated that shopping carts aren't allowed in the food court--it made the space feel clean, open, and comfortable. Overall, I'd give it 4.5 stars. I'm glad we found this place and will definitely be back. read more

Omori Katsu & Ramen is located inside the H Marts food court area. Simply to say, even though this is food court food, it has better Katsu than most places I have had in restaurants. I had ordered the Omori Katsu which takes about 10-15 mins to prepare and serve. It was crispy, full of flavor and the tonkatsu, along with the pickles and cabbage all went perfectly well in harmony. They also have Katsu curry and ramen here as well. Though i have not tried them, all I know is that the Katsu was delicious and I will definitely be back for more. There's a good amount of seating area here at the food court so you can enjoy it fresh instead of taking it home for it to get soggy and lose its freshness. read more
