This hidden gem is located inside HMart between Culver and Alton in Irvine. My kids love the udon, very flavorful. You have to cone here for their katsu. We ordered the chicken curry katsu and love love it. It's light & flaky and chicken is moist. The serving is a lot which is shareable between 2 ppl. Curry is flavorful and perfect with the rice.

Ordered the king donkatsu & ordered curry on the side and it was amazing! The breading was flaky and had the perfect crunch, and the pork itself was moist and well seasoned. I shared it with my bf and we still struggled finishing it (we both eat A LOT). Discovered them through doordash, and they've been my go to katsu place since.

Awesome bowl of ramen and a great portion size for the price you pay. I've been to tons of great ramen places and paid the same for smaller portions. The charsui is plentiful and cooked perfectly. I had asked for extra noodles when I was ordering and the guy working there said "Well get your ramen first and then let's see if you really want extra noodles. The amount we give is pretty big already, but if you still want more come on back and we'll set you up!" I'm glad I took his advice! Barely finished the bowl I had. Will definitely be back!

Was so hungry we forgot to take a photo ! There was a slight wait but the food is good. The katsu is done well. The meat is tender. Definitely a good option in the HMart food hall.

Classic staple! Come M-F and they have combo deals. I got the katsu and udon and it was solid! Katsu was very crunchy but thin chicken for some pieces.

Went to grab Katsu in the Irvine area and it did not disappoint! Located inside the H-Mart food court. Lots of parking and the food court was huge with lots of seating options. And the as very bright and could be lively when it gets busy. This place serves up different types of katsu. The lady at the counter was really nice and explained what each dish had because I didn't know what the king donkatsu was. And since I don't eat pork, I went with chicken. They do have fish or cheese option as well. I got the Chicken Katsu (Comes with rice, cabbage slaw, miso soup, and pickled radish, kimchi, and dipping sauce.) Love the portions for the price! And the best part.... It was light batter and extra crispy. The chicken was moist and HOT! So be careful to let it cool a bit. The miso soup was warm and comforting. The cabbage slaw was light and refreshing with a bit of creaminess to it. Compliments well with everything together. Dipping sauce was savory with a bit of umami. The pickled radish and kimchi gives it a nice crunch and spicy sour tang. Will be back again if in the area to try their ramen.

I couldn't decide what I wanted ... I sorta wanted ramen and I sorta wanted donkatsu ... So I tried the omari and udon combo as a pretty good compromise. I wish ramen were an option for the combi, but I settled for udon. I found it just ok. It could have had a little more flavor ... But I might be because what I really wanted was ramen. The guy told me that the difference between the king donkatsu and omari is that the donkatsu is larger but thinner. I found the omari really good. I liked the thicker cut of pork, and it was well cooked and juicy. I wish the breading had a butt more flavor, though. The salad was just ok. It was sliced a bit too thin for me and the dressing wasn't great. Still. .. a good meal.

Great selection, yummy food! I've had this spot a few times on my lunch break. This is located inside the hmart food court! I've had their tonkotsu ramen and their katsu. Both dishes were flavorful and very filling! The ramen has all the typical flavors and toppings you'd expect, which I think is a good thing as it's exactly what you'd want. The broth was delicious and everything was put together very well. The katsu is also very delicious. It was cooked through and nice and crispy, as you'd hope for a katsu plate. The service here is great! The workers are great at giving recommendations and answering any questions you may have. The food also comes out in a timely manner, too. Parking here is plentiful as it's part of a huge plaza. To find this spot, just go towards the left side of the hmart, as the food court has its own separate (but connected) entrance. Omori will be on your left side! Keep in mind that since this is inside the food court, the ambiance can be pretty loud, so bring headphones if you want to eat alone in peace or bring a friend!

Omori Katsu & Ramen is located in the H-Mart food court with other food stalls, it's spacious with plenty of tables. The katsu here is so good, I didn't know what to expect at first but I was really amazed by the tenderness and juiciness of the inside, the outer layer was so crispy. The signature cheese katsu and chicken katsu were both very tasty but if there's one you need to true it's the cheese katsu, so cheesy! The Shrimp Tempura Udon is a simple dish but so satisfying and comforting, I love how the shrimp tempura came on the side so it's still crispy while I enjoy the udon and broth. What a hidden gem indeed!

Finally tried this newer addition to the HMart food court. Like its name would suggest, Omori has katsu and ramen. I got the chicken katsu, which came with miso soup, rice, salad and some pickled veggies. The chicken was pounded very thin, so it tasted mostly like the crispy breading (which was admittedly pretty good). The spicy miso ramen was the superior option. It looked better than I would have expected from a food court. Plenty of seating and parking.

Ordered the cheese katsu to go. Wow. It is a piece of pork tonkatsu w/ cheese and it was so yummy!! They do not skimp on pork or cheese, had a great cheese pull! The portions are also HUGE, it reheated well in the airfryer.

Highly recommend the chicken katsu and tonkatsu. Portion sizes are huge and you will get full! The sets come with miso soup, shredded cabbage salad, and 2 small sides (yellow radish and marinated jalepeno). The katsu was so crispy, and the chicken katsu was still juicy and tender in the middle. I love that you can add a 4 piece California roll or curry to make it a combo. Service was fast and quick, with our server checking in for more water or if there was anything else we needed. The only downside is the wait, especially for Sunday lunch. Our party of 5 probably waited close to 45 minutes to be seated. The restaurant is small and the tables are meant for parties of 2-4. Anything more than 4, and I would recommend going to another restaurant or visiting during off hours. Katsu isn't usually top of my list when I'm hunting for places to eat, but man, I know I'll be back here multiple times over. 10/10 highly recommend.

Wow really nice place for japanese cuisine!…read more I tried some skewers and the chicken hotplate. The prime beef skewer was my favorite! The meat was tender, had a nice balanced buttery taste that wasnt too heavy, and was cooked at just the right level of done-ness. The seasoning was just right. The bacon wrapped shrimp skewer was great as well. The shrimp was succulent and it already comes with the shell peeled which was very nice haha. The bacon on the outside had some nice crispy bits to it which added some fun textures to the skewer. Very yummy. The pork belly skewer was good too! Not as good as the other skewers I tried though. As for the chicken hotplate, it was really good! The chicken was grilled perfectly and the meat was very tender. The skin on the outside is grilled such that it's crispy, so that added some nice char flavor and texture. The arugula added some nice brightness to the dish. The lighter colored sauce had a sweet and tangy flavor to it, whereas the darker colored sauce had a sweet soy sauce flavor to it. Reminded me a lot of teriyaki sauce, but in a good way! It comes with a side of white rice and the rice was cooked perfectly. Overall a nice spot to go to for a special occasion. The ambience felt modern, clean, and kind of fancy. Seemed very upscale to me. The service was great. Our server was attentive to us and they took really good care of us. If I ever come back, I definitely want to try their nabe hot pot dishes.
