Omoto is an amazing restaurant. It has exceptional sushi at a fantastic price. I have never found myself saying that any of their roles are bad or not up to par. I specifically love the spicy tuna roll. I normally show up with my wife and we get five to six roles, two soups, and a scorpion bowl for about 45 dollars. They also have a coupon on there to-go menu which takes off 5 to 10 dollars, as well as keep your eyes open on Groupon. I have not tried to much of their Chinese food, but i have had my two favorites, crab rangoon and beef lo mein and thought they both were fantastic. And heated up well the next day which is always important with Chinese food. Overall i rave about this place to everyone as having great prices, great food, and easy going. Mark and I wanted to have a date night and decided to check this place out...big mistake. I have no problem with people enjoying themselves when it comes to karaoke, but two booths ahead of ours reeked of piss. I have no problem with an empty restaurant either because if their reviews are good, then I am not worried. Mark and I were seated and our waitress was rude, abrupt and didn't really want to be there. We didn't walk out because we were so hungry and didn't want to faint. The sushi was meh and the beef lo mein was inedible. The beef lo mein had barely any veggies and the beef didn't look like beef. OK, first off Omoto is more of a Japanese place than a Chinese place. It has tons of sushi, but that's not my taste. I go on Friday nights because of Karaoke, but I go early because of the food. Their Kung Pao chicken is the best I have ever tried. I love the fried shrimp, and have yet to try something bad. Really fantastic! I wasn't sure what to think looking at the strip mall it's located at. Kind of dumpy, not sure what door to go into. Once inside I was impressed by how beautiful the dining room is and how new and clean it feels. Service was excellent. Our waiter had a great sense of humor and was incredibly attentive without hovering. We ordered scallion pancakes which were good and not too greasy, and sushi. We happen to be vegetarians, so I can say the veggie roles (multi-veggi, avocado, sweet potato), are terrific. They arranged them beautifully by the way, not just separate plates for each roll. Very fresh and tasty. We had the mango ice cream and it was subtle and not too sweet. I'm worried about this place since it wasn't very full when we were there. This restaurant had s served me well so here's my tip to them: They are the BEST Chinese restaurant out there! Their fried chicken wings is heaven, their fried rice is dope! I'm not paid to hype it. I'm a regular customer and I don't eat Chinese food elsewhere but here. If you keep the chicken overnight, don't microwave it. Use the oven instead and you bring back the crunch and Flavour to life. The restaurant itself is cute and homely. I've only eaten in there once but that's probably the only Chinese restaurant I would take my friends and family to for a night dining. This place used to be our go to place, to the point the bartenders knew our names and orders. As you can see from my original review 11 months ago. But unless Raymond or Ashley is at the bar tending don't bother showing up here. Everyone else who works here picks and chooses who they serve. Ive sat at the bar and restaurant side and i don't know which side is worse. Every time i come here and Raymond or Ashley is not working i leave annoyed and flabbergasted at the service. The restaurant usually only has 1 or 2 waiters so its always slow going for food. Today i sat at the bar for 25 minutes before i had to flag the bartender down to put in a food order, mind you there was only two other customers at the bar ( one customer came in AFTER us and got their food order taken BEFORE us) and the bartender had just walked out of the kitchen with FOOD FOR HIMSELF. Never offered a menu. Just a quick glance as he walked by about 4-5 times before I had to get him to take my order. Thankfully raymond's shift started and the service was 10/10. I am SO happy. I just recently moved to the area and have found this gem. The spicy tuna rolls are excellent....generous sized rolls literally filled with tuna, very fresh with just the right amount of crunchy tempura flake. The pad Thai is as good as could possibly be. We went back again because we liked it so much the first time and it was equally as good the second time. The place was so dark I could barely see, it took over 20 Minutes to get my lunch which was one of their sushi specials. Meanwhile there were only 4 other people in there. Went for lunch with my brother, the food was outstanding. The wings were cooked very well, easily the best Chinese wings I've had. All the vegetables were fresh too and you could tell they had been made to order and not just scooped out of a pre-made pot. The service was great, although it was not busy. Perfectly good poo-poo player that you would find at your typical townie Chinese restaurant. Lo-mein was serviceable, as was the pork fried rice. Friendly people but the food was not so great. We ordered two combo plates, a side of spring rolls, and 2 hot and sour soups. The combo plates were small portioned on the rice. The spring rolls were tiny and generic. The chicken teriyaki was like rubber, couldn't even eat them. The soup was thick and greasy. One of the best Chinese food In the south Weymouth area. I'm quite picky and felt that it all had good flavor. My test is always beef teriyaki. I am a huge fan of sushi. Living on the south shore there's only a few places in my area that deliver. I ordered the spicy tuna, spicy crab & a california roll. Honestly I was disappointed. The price was high & the quality was low. Both the spicy tuna & the spicy crab were not spicy or rolled well & the amount of "filling" was lacking. The california roll was spot on but that's because it's hard to fake. The spicy crab was imitation crab meat. I regret straying from my usual sushi place Tenka in Brockton. Very good food. Its kind of on the American side of the spectrum but its good when you have been playing airsoft next door. The sushi is very good. Its been very fresh the times I gotten it. The hot side of things is good also. Got the app plate and the kung po beef. The plate was an app plate bunch of apps. The kung po beef was little bit of beef and a bunch of vegetables, had a nice bit of heat. the service was very attentive and prompt.
