I DM'd because that intrigued me as a potential customer as it's more on the affordable end compared to some salons I've gone to in the past. When Dm'ing , I was showing a bunch of different balayage inspo images I was gravitating towards along with the current state of my hair as he requested which is totally normal but then... Alpher said "...the balayage, color, and toner will be $645". Why is your ad saying it's $245 and now it's gone up $400 for what a Balayage process already should include? A balayage process is literally bleaching, color/toner, foils, etc.. why is he stating that the style itself is like a separate thing of $245 & then the color/bleach and toner would somehow be $400 leading to a grand total of $645? I called him out saying that his ad is misleading and if there are additional fees, to state it in the AD because a $400 jump is actually almost scamming customers who think they're spending HALF of what he jumped it to... Not here to ruin his business because I think he is great at his work but I am pretty shocked at how this "professional of 20 years" responded by blocking me rather than explaining why it would jump to that price out of nowhere and not correcting his AD. Misleading to grab customers tbh.. Please do better. Trust is built with existing and potential clients.

Mustafa was very responsive from the start and made scheduling easy. I came in for a color correction and balayage, and I have to say he did an excellent job. He and his assistant really took the time to fix the color, and the end result turned out beautiful. I'm very happy with my hair and would definitely come back. That said, if you're someone who values the overall salon experience as much as the hair itself, it's worth setting your expectations. Communication is fairly limited, as most of the staff speak very little English. They get the job done and focus on the hair, but there isn't much conversation or consultation beyond what's necessary. Also, while the pricing is comparable to salons in Los Gatos or Palo Alto, the experience is more basic. During my visit, I wasn't offered coffee, water, or other amenities, and based on other Yelp reviews and photos, that seems to be the norm rather than an exception. Overall, if your priority is getting great hair results, Mustafa delivers. Just don't expect a luxury salon experience with lots of extras or personalized service. For me, the quality of the color correction was worth it, and I'd happily return.

Let me tell you that this place was the MOST I've ever paid for hair coloring and balayage in my life and I've gone to Master hair colorists at luxury salons in the bay area too. They were nice, talked me through the right shade for the balayage according to my skin tone and then she proceeded to take out a calculator to show me the cost. I was pretty shocked to see the cost, but I already made arrangements to get my hair colored that day so I begrudgingly agreed to proceed. Maybe I should have negotiated or asked if that total included tip? My hair is medium length and layered and the ash blonde/brown came out really nice, but I am still kicking myself for paying this much. The problem is the salon's management and their decision to upcharge me simply because I have curly hair. At a previous appointment, I was told that I would be charged more next time because my hair "takes longer." My hair is average in length and fullness, not thick or coarse. I only get a blowout with a flat iron add on, which they do not even list as a service. Despite that, I decided to return and accept a small increase. Instead, they added almost 80 dollars to my service, bringing the total to 186 dollars for a basic blowout and flat iron. I have been to celebrity stylists in Malibu who charge far less for the same thing. Their justification that my hair takes longer is not accurate. My hair has never taken more than 1.5 hours at any salon, including this one. It feels unfair and uninclusive to suddenly raise prices on clients with curly hair after months of consistent appointments. I expected better from a business in Belmont. I hope they reconsider how they treat clients with textured hair. Curly hair should not come with a penalty.
