But homey. Lots of locals here and many seemed to be regulars. A very nice family style place. I ordered eggs with bacon and toast and home fries. And of course, coffee. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasty. The coffee was perfect. The waitress was very friendly and everyone seemed to be enjoying their jobs. Made a reservation for breakfast with a party of 7. Have been there several times before. When I arrived, I was told by the owner ( rudely ) that I would just have to wait. Our party waited 40 minutes before the table was ready. Service was good as usual. The owner never apologized for the long wait time, nor did we receive any compensation. We frequently dine there, so she knows our faces. I have been in this industry for 49 years. You do not treat your regular customers so rudely. Needless to say, I will not be going back. read more

Stopped in w 5 friends for our monthly get together. My first time at OTH. Ample parking, open daily from 6 A to 1 P. Very safe atmosphere, with plexiglass still up between booths. Tammy was our server. Very capable. Handled a pretty busy breakfast crowd by herself. OTH offers 8 stools at a counter, 8 booths, and 4 tables. More than half were occupied. My sausage and cheese omelet (3 eggs) was perfectly cooked and delicious. There's a choice of 3 different types of potatoes. HFs grilled or deep fried, or hash browns. My HBs were also very tasty. Crooner Chris had two humongous blueberry pancakes, 3 eggs over, home fries, and 3 medallions of Canadian bacon. That boy can eat; he left nothing behind, and was eyeing his father, Demanding Dan's plate for leftovers. Manic Mike, Crash Test Dummy Ron, and Jovial John rounded out our group. This place is near my job, decided to give it a try. While entering the place, you get hit with delicious smells of coffee and breakfast food. Was greeted my a smiling employee who was very nice. Food portions are pretty good size. I got the eggs Benedict and a Belgian waffle with bananas and blueberries, thinking the portions would be smaller. Alright, alright. I'd had On The Hill about 3-4 years ago and I'd heard the owners had since changed, so I figured I'd go again and try it out. - I'll give them an A++ for prices. Most meals were about $5-6. - Quality of food was also very, very good. Home fries weren't seasoned though which was a let down. Although, you are given the choice of having the fries cooked 3 different ways. - Went on Sunday at 12ish and it was definitely packed but service was great! - They take cards which is nice. - THE COFFEE WAS REALLY GOOD! Extra insight: I remembered loving their corned beef hash, so I went with that, 2 eggs, home fries and pancakes. I'll say this, I absolutely did love their hash again! My only issue was that the amount of it that actually comes isn't enough to be considered a meal. I've been to places where I can't even finish the hash, but if you look at my picture, that's what I was served. My wife's omelet was a very generous portion and very well seasoned. I really wanted to give the restaurant 4 stars, but the food was mediocre at best. We went for breakfast, I had the Monte Cristo which was good, but it came with bland grilled breakfast potatoes, and equally bland sausage links. My wife had a scrambled egg breakfast with the same breakfast bland potatoes. She also had the hash, which was burned. Her bacon was good, not greasy. However, the service was very good. My daughter found this place by driving by on her way to work and mentioned we should try it out. They have Monty Cristos so that's our choice. The sandwich was good but they don't serve it with maple syrup which I think would put it over the top. It has plenty of ham and came with a little bowl of fruit which was nice. Last Saturday a friend and I went for breakfast and it was really good. Today being Friday the 13th I didn't think that breakfast there would be any different. It was different the food was awful. I don't know exactly what changes were made. The ham was very fatty. The home fries were very greasy and had no taste at all. As for the waitress she was very nice. I did not blame the waitress for the terrible food as a matter of fact I gave her a five dollar tip and an $18 bill because it wasn't her fault. On the Hill Restaurant was a lifesaver for me on a very hungover, post-cousin's-wedding morning. It's tucked into a little collection of storefronts near a gas station so it's a bit hard to see but it's easy access from a main drag. Lots of creative breakfast offerings. I got a fruit and yogurt parfait and a blueberry pancake on the side. As much as I was trying to eat healthily after a long night of not doing so, I wish I had just gotten the fat stack of pancakes. My husband got the Eggs Benedict which he said was delicious. It'd be nice if they offered a vegetarian protein option on their menu but if you're looking for good, traditional breakfast fare On the Hill is hard to beat. read more

Cozy place, very friendly staff, and decent food. If you're looking for a place with a touch of home cooking then this is he place for you. I had a wheat bagel with eggs, swiss cheese, raw spinach, and I usually sneeze fresh lemon over my eggs ( I know that may be crazy for some people but try it before you judge) you WILL thank me, after all I am Lebanese/American and I love my fresh citrus. I also had one chocolate chip pancake (this is my favorite pancake place besides the ones I make). My daughters had the same two orders of cheese omelettes, side of grilled fries and pancakes (they are identical twins by the way). All together with three cups of tea were $23 and change, now that's not a bad deal. I won't give it 5 stars because the bar is set very high when it comes to breakfast for me. Breakfast it is my favorite meal of the day... I can literally have breakfast and not eat all day. I'll post a 5 star breakfast picture soon to my profile to show everyone what I mean. Overall I would recommend this place for a typical American breakfast over any fast food or franchise place... the service here is fast, my daughters and I were in and out within 25 minutes. My favorite breakfast place which I only discovered by accident! Come here so often (weekly if I had my way). The pancakes are HUGE so lately I've been getting one blueberry pancake with a side of bacon. The bacon has always been consistently phenomenal. And you can tell the blueberries are real. For the longest time I was getting two eggs over medium with toast, grilled home fries and bacon. Home fries? Impeccable. Eggs? Always cooked to perfection. We went to the restaurant on the hill because it had good reviews here on Yelp. When we first arrived we were greeted by a sign that said "no credit or debit cards". We almost abandoned the plans to eat here at that but since it had such good reviews, we went and got some cash. I ordered the eggs Benedict and my fiancée had eggs, toast and homefries covered in cheese. The eggs Benedict DID NOT have hollandaise sauce, it was clearly just some kind of pre make or purchased cheese sauce. Also, the cheese on my fiancées home fries was American deli slices... To be fair to the place the food wasn't bad, but it definitely was nothing special. If you are used to mediocre food and eat at fast food places On a regular basis you might like this place. However if you appreciate gourmet food and expect excellence, my guess is you can make a better breakfast at home. P.S. I should point out hat the service was excellent. read more

I wanted to like this place because it's cozy and the food really is good, but they messed up my order and overcharged me by $3. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with cheese; they gave me a grilled cheese sandwich but charged me for the chicken. I sorted it out with the waitress and paid for only the grilled cheese, but I was still disappointed. And I'm not sure but I think they served me sugar soda when I asked for diet. Placed an order thru Door Dash only to get my food 2 hours later and cold. Regardless of Door Dash, I called the restaurant to speak to the manager because my Spinach salad had bacon in it. Nowhere on the website is Bacon mentioned. Upon requesting to speak to the manager, I was transferred to Jennifer, who is supposedly the owner. Not only was she extremely rude and unprofessional, but towards the end of our conversation she became irate at me. She did not know who Door Dash was and somehow blamed the fact that their website doesn't mention bacon in the salad on me, as if I should have known that. The website doesn't say anything except spinach salad with egg. My colleague, who frequents the place has heard the waitresses talking about how the place used to run much smoother prior to Jennifer taking over, but she also heard our whole conversation and was flabbergasted that an owner of a business would talk this way to their customers, as was I. We went here today for the first time ever due to just moving into the area. We were looking for a really nice Sunday Brunch and showed up here right at 12:00 PM EST sharp. It only took about 5 minutes to get seated because the place was packed and so was the outside parking lot. The staff was very nice, but, there seemed to be some delays today. We did notice one of the chefs or maybe the head chef leave around 12:10 PM EST. That may explain why it took a total of about 30 minutes to receive our order for 2 people once we had placed our order with our nice waitress. In regards to the food, the scrambled eggs served to us were a bit on the cold side, but, due to an appointment and the long wait we had already experienced, we were not in a position to send them back and the place closed at 1:00 PM EST as well. The potatoes were pretty good and had nice onions and diced bell peppers in them. The Ham trimmed from the bone was pretty good and nice sized portion of 2 slices very thick cut. Now, for the things that they need to work on, but, most likely will not were the blueberry pancakes and the Belgian Waffle. Both were and are made from a pre-mix, according to the waitress and they tasted like it. They are NOT fresh made, and, they really should be. The fresh strawberries and fresh blueberries with the Belgian Waffle were actually good. The Blueberry Pancakes had a sporadic mix of blueberries in them and they also were made with the pre-mix. A NO-NO in my book after eating in places all over the USA and for almost 87 years at that. Please do better and do the patrons a favor and serve them freshly made Belgian Waffles and Pancakes. They deserve them and they deserve better in my opinion. The bill with tip was reasonable and not expensive at $17 total, which, for most people, they will feel comfortable with that amount to pay. read more

This is a clean, fare priced restaurant with very good food. The staff is always very warm and pleasant, as well as eager to please. They serve both breakfast and lunch till their closing at 2PM.
