I tried ondo based off of friends really liking it, however, I must disagree. The aesthetic of the coffee shop is really cute and I enjoyed working here...if you can find a table. Also the people here tend to take up an entire 4 person table for themselves. I asked multiple people if I could sit on the other end and received a no every time. The line to order is also always long and they move very slow. I got a chocolate almond croissant which was actually pretty good, all the pastries look good, but they don't warm them up for you. I also got a sea salt caramel latte which I really did not enjoy. It is so sweet, which could be my fault in ordering but I also tried a sip of other lattes and they were all extremely sweet. Had the most beautiful experience here this morning. I had the monkey bread and the salted caramel latte. The monkey bread was to die for, and all of the other pastries looked amazing. The latte had a foam on top that was similar to mascarpone, it was decadent and lined with a caramel sauce that tasted fresh and home made. Amazing. Service was nice and fast. Every time I come to ONDO bakery I'm lost at what I should pick. The options are endless and everything looks like an amazing option. The NewYork croissants are my new favorite thing and trying a different flavor every time I'm in the bakery. The staff behind the register are always cheerful and welcoming the baristas always made my drinks spot on. I personally like to sit outside when the weather is nice but inside seating is also very nice and it's not too load. Good for student to do their work and study or meet friends and for families to get a quick treat. read more

First and foremost, this is an AMAZING bakery. I'd overlook any reviews talking about the drinks (yes... they are definitely on the sweeter side) because the pasties are really what make this place shine. We had the bacon egg and cheese croissant, which is not the prettiest to look at if you're expecting a BEC, but blew us away with how fresh and light the flavor was. Be warned - the egg is a jammy egg so you might make a mess. Next up was the mango box pastry, which had a hint of coconut and was not too sweet but the perfect blend of flaky and fruity. A bit difficult to maneuver, but beautiful to look at - my daughter snapped an ig story immediately. The service is good enough, just know that you will need to keep an eye on the drink pick up as they do not announce your name. Overall, this is a 5/5 in our book and will be a staple in future visits to Ann Arbor! read more

Basically: Yummy in my Tummy Great place. Delicious pastries, good options. A little bit on the more pricey side but not expensive. Drinks are delicious, only thing I would change is the ice level of the drinks because the ice melts immediately. This negative is still not big enough for me to think it's anything under a 5/5. It is a nice and spacious place, has seating and WiFi. The service is good, the workers are nice, no one has been rude to me in the multiple times I've been to this location this past year. Delicious pastries, bright and inviting space - this was a delightful way to begin our day

Went here on a Saturday afternoon. It was incredibly busy. The way the shop is set up makes it difficult to browse around people who are in line, or to know if someone is in line or just trying to get to a product in the cases. If you want to just order coffee, do you have to stand in the long line of pastry buyers? It's hard to know. The coffee drinks themselves are good if you like them sweet. All the pastries and cakes look really good and aesthetically beautiful. There were only three people working, and they didn't really seem to know what they were doing. Only one seemed to have a handle on how to run things. It felt very hectic and rushed in there, not a relaxing space at all unfortunately. The bathrooms were a mess with no toilet paper or paper towels. I think it comes down to being understaffed, which I know is an issue everywhere. I would try it again, but maybe at a less busy time. read more

Fuck this place. I come around the last 3 days around 7:45am after work and they never have the chocolate croissant or garlic salt pastry available. And the girl says to call ahead and ask but there is no phone number and the staff, escpecially the stupid girl at the register always say the same exact robotic cop out answer saying "by 10am all the pastries will be done", no shit. Thanks for nothing. Not to mention the chocolate croissants seems to be shrinking in size, idk why they are rationing the baking materials as if we aren't paying enough for them anyway at their premium pricing. And also know even if there is a short line, like one or two people with small orders, the staff as a whole will literally take their time and make you stand forever while doing their best to avoid any eye contact. So if your in any sort of rush, even a mild one, check from the window to make sure there isnt a short line of one or two people before risking your time. The staff seem very comfortable operating like dickheads cuz quality seems to be somewhat decent despite reduced/shrunk size of some of their items. read more

Visiting from cali , had low expectations towards matcha in Michigan but since this place had such good reviews I decided to give it a try. Had the strawberry matcha latte, it was terrible... resembled strawberry water, absolutely a joke compared to what I'm used to Food was okay not bad. read more

Cons: I had pretty high expectations for this place. But it was mediocre at best. The strawberry matcha was okay but I'm glad I got the small. It mostly just tasted like it had strawberry milk not like a good quality syrup made from fresh strawberries (if you love strawberry matcha you know what I mean). My boyfriend ordered the black sesame drink and it was really bad. He's had it many times before at different coffee shops and this one was pretty intolerable. Lastly I was trying to grab my almond croissant and one of the workers reached over me in the same space and I moved aside to let her do whatever she was trying to do and she scoffed at me and stared at me like I was doing something wrong and then she stared at me "waiting for me to grab my croissant"... so that was kinda weird and rude. Pros: Honestly the pastries were pretty good! We had the almond croissant and the Oreo NY style croissant thingy and they're good ! So that was a plus -it's very well decorated and plenty of space. All in all if you're coming for the aesthetic and the pastries you'll love it but in my opinion the coffee and matcha are mediocre. (And I'm a cali girl with traveling experience to the east coast so I feel pretty confident in identifying good coffee) read more

Hubby and I went on a bakery crawl. This was our second stop. Of the three bakeries we stopped at, this was our favorite, but that's not saying much. First off, the espresso drinks are delicious. But stay away from anything matcha. They use a very cheap quality of matcha and it's truly awful. My matcha latte was a huge disappointment and the matcha New York roll was inedible. They are very generous with their fillings, so we couldn't really get a taste of the roll without the awful matcha flavor. Seriously folks, if you're going to serve matcha, use the good stuff, please! We had a raspberry mouse with was really delightful and the little "bear head" filled with chocolate cream (apologies, I can't remember the name). It was pretty good, but the cream was a bit much. Like I said, they're very generous with the fillings. Everything is beautiful and they do a really good job, but the cheap matcha really brought the whole experience down a notch. read more

Went here as a little trip with my sister while I was in Downtown Ann Arbor. The ambiance is relaxing and beautiful! Very nice place with nice layout, and many places to sit. Watch out if you have food allergies! Baked goods and atmosphere looked lovely. The donuts were not labeled so I asked the person at the desk what the filling was in the donut as it had no label and we have food allergies/sensitivities in our family. I was told it was pistachio which was fine. Upon coming home I realized it was matcha and that the person with a food allergy in my family had already eaten several bites of this. I tried to call Ondo to tell them that the item needs to be labeled properly. They have no listed phone number. They need to be more careful to label all of the items or train the workers to not guess at what something is. read more
