3.5 Stars! One & Only BBQ was a pretty good experience! The service was the best thing about our time here! Our server's name was Bailey, and she was incredibly kind and helpful! She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed! The food was ok...it wasn't bad but wasn't my favorite! It was average! I think I would maybe come back again but would probably just get a sandwich or mac and cheese or something more basic! I've had their salad before and liked it, but tonight didn't love it at much! It was pretty large, but the lettuce was pretty wilted and didn't taste super fresh. They have adequate inside and outside seating. The wait wasn't long and the food came out pretty quickly!

Came here on the 13th with my family as we were visiting the area. It was a group of 8 of us which they seated promptly and brought drinks. The waitress was nice and offered suggestions. I got the pulled pork sandwich with the coleslaw and mac and cheese. Then we got the ribs and chicken wings for the table. OMG the pork sandwich was great and that coleslaw someone put their foot in! I am normally the last to finish eating anything but boy... did i put a hurting on that and finished before everyone else at the table. Besides the pulled pork the chicken wings are really good. I would stay away from the brisket (thinly sliced and kind of dry even with the sauce at the table) and the ribs as they just didn't have good flavor.

Fabulous bbq alert! Possibly a new favorite for me and the family, especially in terms of just the meat. We wanted to get a bbq fix before we left Memphis. On our last few visits, our usual spot really let us down in terms of quality. So I decided we'd try somewhere new. One & Only was open on Sunday, had great reviews, and wasn't too far, so off we went! We found it in the same area as Milk, which is a nearby dessert bar I'd visited the day before. As such, parking is a little limited, but we found a spot easily enough. The inside of the restaurant is pretty cramped -- mostly to go orders -- but there are a few small two and four-tops so we settled in. Service was lovely! All the staff was very friendly and sweet. Our food came out quickly enough too. My parents split a pulled pork sandwich and loaded potato salad. Hubs got the ribs (dry rub, but added a dab of sauce at the table) with baked beans and fries. I got the pulled pork dinner with fries and mac and cheese. The dinners come with a piece of garlic toast, too. The sweet tea I had to drink was yummy! On to the food -- Barbeque, across the board, was excellent. Best I've had in a long time! Hubs gave his ribs a 4.5/5 and said they were some of the best he'd had. My parents and I were both wowed and overjoyed at the flavor and texture of the pork. It was tender but not mushy/falling apart, and was remarkably tasty for how lean it was. This is maybe my perfect bbq pork -- I don't like a lot of gristle / fat, but it can be hard to get a lot of flavor without it. One & Only delivered. I liked all three of their bbq sauces but the spicy was my favorite -- great balance of sweet with a little twinge of heat. The sides are the only reason this isn't quite a 5 star for me. The fries, while hot and crispy, needed salt or seasoning. And the macaroni and cheese was super ordinary. WHEN I come again, I'll get something else on the side. Like....the twice baked potato salad! Not usually a potato salad fan but holy cow this one was amazing. My parents definitely out bought me there. Hubs agreed with me about the fries but said the baked beans were pretty good! There's pork in them, so be aware. Oh, and the garlic toast was delicious! Super buttery and garlicky. They have a dessert cooler with pies and banana pudding which was sorely tempting but we were too stuffed to go there. Overall, a 4.5 out of 5 for me. We'll be back next time we're in Memphis!

We drove in from Carbondale il, but from California. First off, Torrian, (not sure if i got it spelled right, sorry) our waiter was on point. Very welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious. I had the 4 bone ribs with half dry rub and half sauce. My choice of sides were the beans and fries. My husband had the six bone with twice baked potatoe salad and mac n cheese. Extremely satisfied. And it came with toast. If your in the area and you like smoked meats, ya gotta give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Gloria, our hostess, created a signature drink: 1/2 sweet tea mixed with 1/2 pink lemonad. This drink is AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!!! One and Only BBQ, add this on your drink menu! Just a suggestion from a friend... that friend is me

I am writing this review because of ONE item. I've not tried their BBQ. However, they make the worse banana pudding I've ever put in my mouth. It was a cornucopia of mush, slime, and flour. The BBQ "might" be good, but I'll never know based on my pudding experience!! Yu Update: I was given a gift card to try out the menu by the VPO. I decided to use the card several days ago and promised to give you guys an update. I personally would not buy food here. I'm not saying it is bad, but I didn't enjoy

Daaaaaaamn! The best ribs I've ever had hands down. Now, maybe some places have tied but none have bested these works of art. If a Nobel prize could've been given for food. This place would've certainly earned one. I tried two of the dry and two of the wet. The dry tub was absolutely splendid they had bark that was nice and thick, but seasoned to perfection with the perfect hint of smoke. They were tender, but not messy-fall-off-the-bone and land-on-your-shirt that you sometimes see with overcook. The wet ones were NOT smothered to the point where all you tasted was sauce but perfectly coated just enough for the flavor of the smoked meat obviously poking through. So toothsome, so tender and so delicious! The nachos were cosmopolitan but the smoked chicken speckled atop the heap of chips and cheese was out of control delish. Beware that there are only a handful of tables. The setting was authentic BBQ joint. The service was amazing. The lighting was bright and there was a TV on the wall. The music was muted and did not encumber conversation.

Here's my review in 1 word. Amazing. We were just getting into town, a little bit late, and looking for some of that good local food. We got in just after the dinner rush, but couldn't be made to feel any more welcome than the staff made us feel. They told us to grab a seeet wherever we wanted, and came right over and explained the menu and made some recommendations to us. My wife, being from eastern North Carolina, she is somewhat of a BBQ aficionado. She was intrigued at what western Tennessee you would hold for us, and what they billed as BBQ. When we mentioned we were passing through headed to Texas for an event, they were quick to congratulate us and gave a sizable sample of brisket to try and compare to what Texas has. The ribs were delicious. The BBQ was delicious. The brisket, just like they described, was more like Baltimore pit beef... and delicious. The beans were delicious. The Mac and cheese was that good family reunion style, that your mom made on special occasions. So good. The sauces were all unique and delicious. If you're passing through, hit any one of their locations. You will not be disappointed.

Service alone, 5 stars. That's where it kind of ended.. I'm not a cheap person, and realize costs have gone up on everything. $35 for a slab of ribs that were a bit tough, and looked like the fell into the smoker, and had to be pulled out with vice grips. Fries, weren't anything special/very little flavor. I drove right past Central to head here, because I was hoping for some really good BBQ.

Damn good food! It was a Sunday, so the fewer selections than usual in the Memphis barbecue market. The pork ribs (wet and dry) were excellent. The brisket was a bit too dry/lean for my taste but I loved the paper thin clean cuts. The spicy sauce was my favorite. Onion rings, veg baked beans and mustard potato salad were all superb. 10/10 would detour 29 mins off cross-country route again.

The BBQ sandwiches are pretty good, but I'd suggest that cut the meat into smaller portions in order to expose it more to seasonings.

The regular size was fulfilling because of the amount of stuff between the buns, and after the last bite I was so full and totally satisfied. The owners seem older now, calmer maybe, and genuinely kinder and more accommodating than I remember. Still quick, still efficient, but way more patient with customers than the old days. Feels like a neighborhood spot that grew up a little without losing its identity. The food is still what brings people back though. The bread has that same soft, slightly sweet flavor that nobody else in Memphis really does right. I got the Super Sub this time and it was exactly what I wanted -- fresh toppings, good balance, and one of those sandwiches that disappears faster than you expect. The chicken sub is still probably my favorite overall. Place was clean, service moved fast, and yeah... still cash only, which somehow feels completely on-brand at this point. Some things probably shouldn't change. Not every single person will "get" this place, and that's fine. But for a lot of Memphis people, this spot is tied to memories as much as sandwiches. Glad to see they're still going strong.
