I was approached by owner Danielle at my place of employment. She offered to pull some of the orange /brassy color out of the color I currently had and WANTED. I also needed my roots touched up so I agreed to call and set up and appt. I had to reschedule my first appointment because my day off got switched at work... She was able to fit me in on a Saturday after I got off work, which would put her past the time she normally worked and I was very greatful! When I got there, I showed her the picture of what I wanted. The same picture I used to get the the color I was currently at, which was not far off. It just had a little more brassy tone than I wanted. After showing her the picture she asked if wanted to cut any of it. I said yes a little. We agreed to right at my breast (my hair was almost at my butt) She cut it across real quick and I was happy with the length. She gave her assistant mixing instructions and then started coloring my hair. As she was coloring it, she said what I'm doing is just starting over. I said ok... as I believed she was just re-foiling the hair (in the same colors , the color in the picture). As she put all these foils in I could estimate this was going to be a full foil price. Not what I agreed to but if she was going to make it look great, I was ok with it. Long story short... She ended up going a whole different route with the color. It pulled super ashy to the point it looks grey/silver/green in most lighting. I don't know why in the salon lighting you couldn't see it but as soon as I walked out side, I could see it and it got worse as the day went on. On top of that when she went in to finish up the cut, you know just clean it up, since she already cut the length to where I wanted it.. She ended up cutting several more inches off and adding tons of layers. Basically a sag cut. Which would have been great if that was what I wanted! She chopped my hair off and didn't even ask! My hair went from all the way down my back, to touching my shoulders. Ladies we all know, when you have your hair long and you don't have any intentions of going short how you feel when someone takes it upon themselves to cut all your hair off! You think that's the end of this story? Then wait for the bill! $485.00 BEFORE TIP! WHY???? YOU ASK? WELL apparently I needed two things of gloss at $55 each on top of the $290 for cut and foil... I also needed another color I didn't know I needed for $95 and then I needed extra product for $20. I went from just remove the brassy and do my roots... To ending up going home with all my hair cut off, an ash gone wild hair color I didn't know I wanted. AND ALL THAT GLOSS I PAID FOR!?!! IDK HIDING BEHIND THE ASH? Is going to get fixed you ask??? Sorry she isn't available any of the days I'm off for the next several weeks and she closes at 5 pm every day so that's not happening. If I came in to her salon and said , I have no clue what I want, I want you to just do whatever YOU want oh and money is no object!..Well then I got what I asked for. The customer service is so bad it's funny. I'm new to the area, walked in because I thought the store was interesting and was looking to get a trim anyway and I was greeting in the rudest manner I almost laughed. The woman with the sleeves tattoos "the owner" did not greet me, just looked at me and very rudely asked what I wanted. I stayed and pretended to be interested in her services to pick up on her vibe some more but it was just all wrong. How can someone leave that bad of an impression when they own a business dealing with customer service. Like I said it's actually kinda funny and laughed about it when I told my girlfriends. The best way for me to describe my experience at One Glance is MAGICAL! Danielle did exactly what I wanted...WITHOUT showing her 1 of the gazillion photos I saved from my Google search. The most aggressively bad cut/color I've ever gotten. I asked for only two things: don't make me blonde and don't go too short. Two hours, and three HUNDRED dollars later, I look like a tennis ball. During my appointment, there were personal friends of hers in the salon and Danielle made it very clear that she preferred to spend her time with them instead of me. 1) After my color, she left me under the dryer so long that I had to ask someone to get her. Turns out she was on the other side of the salon laughing with her friends. 2) She left me at the sink -- again -- to talk with her friends. 3) And ignored me completely when she cut my hair, talking over me to her friends. It seemed like she wasn't paying attention to what she was doing. Throughout the entire two hours, I felt like an inconvenience. At the end, I put my glasses on and saw what she did -- everything I didn't want so I told her I didn't like it. At that point, Danielle turned nasty, as if I were embarrassing her in front of her friends. She shrugged -- like she couldn't care less -- and offered to "dye my back to its original color" but couldn't promise to match the shade. Since I'd lost complete confidence in her by then, I just paid and left. Even when I was broke and in college, my $12.00 haircuts were better than what Danielle did to me. This was my first visit to Danielle. Salon has a modern edge very nice with lots of natural light. Plenty of parking. The ladies who greet you and set you up are very nice and helpful. Danielle was super easy to talk with and her skills are phenomenal. I'm extremely hard to please and she knew exactly what I wanted and executed better than I could have imagined. We did base color and cut. She fixed some issues I was having with my color, definitely a more refined look. The cut also raving about. I don't yelp often. It has to be something really great or the opposite to have me post and sadly it is for that reason today. I did wait a few days to calm down enough to be somewhat rational, but boy was I pissed. I wanted to like this place, I really did. And honesty, while I am picky about my hair, I am also extremely patient as it has been done by students at a beauty school for years. But then Covid came. So, after being locked in for 4 months, with 5 months of unruly hair, I had to try something. I made an appointment for a haircut. That first appointment was not so bad. Ms. M did a lot of pushing of their product line, one I had never heard of, but at least my hair seemed to have some shape back. But after two weeks, my hair was still unruly. With birthday fast approaching, I figured I would get a more extreme style, a pixie cut. I also was interested in a shine product that was touted on my first visit, so, I made a second appointment again with Ms. M. This visit was the stuff of nightmares. To start off, she and the shop manager completely disregarded my request to lighten the roots and add the much talked about shine product. Instead insisting that they needed to add purple to tone down some yellow that they saw. The were repeatedly asked if the results would be platinum white, and I was assured it would look fine. While the "treatment" was processing. I had to sit and listen to what was extremely inappropriate "music". With MF and F bombs the big N bomb being dropped as well as other not appropriate in a spa environment. Ms. M joked about how it was inappropriate, but neither of the two staff members saw the need to change it. Again, I'm a big girl and have heard all of that and more, but it adds to the overwhelming lack of customer concern. Now, the "treatment" is washed off and the hair cut is done. It was done at the speed of a first year student (like I'm used to) and Ms. M did not seem comfortable while making the cut. Blow dry time. My two requests are always as curly as possible and lots of volume. Neither occurred. As she was blow drying, I began to see streaks of silver gray.,. Not White! I was told repeatedly that it was the glaze they used "mother of pearl" and would wash out in a few shampoos. At this point I must mention, that unlike a lot of salons, this one is somewhat dark in a goth sort of way, so I could not see the true color. As I checked out the owner, made the comment that it was different but not too many people will notice, (and the emperor's new clothes were spectacular). I got home and looked in the mirror in true white light and discovered that my bright white hair had been turned steel gray. Boy was I pissed! I grabbed my clarifying shampoo and went to work. End result, I now had gray hair with a green cast. It took two hours in another salon the next day, my birthday, to repair the damage and correct what should have been a simple haircut. I can tolerate many things. I have had lots of not quite great cuts and or errors with my hair. But each has come with an apology that it was not quite what I wanted. NEVER have I been out right lied to. If they don't know the difference between gray and white, they either need to invest in some real lights for the shop, or stop coloring hair. If your hair can handle Hair Cuttery, go there instead. If you need a professional stylist, go anywhere else but here. read more

I've been to see Danielle a total of 4 times now, I have been very pleased each time. Love the updated look she has given me, it makes me feel much more "hip." Sometimes we can get stuck in a rut with our hair, and as you age it is vital to have an edgy hairstyle to keep you looking and feeling young. I walked into One Glance not really knowing what I wanted, I was immediately welcomed. Everyone was so positive and so professional. I was open to almost anything except for a few things and they really took that into consideration, my experience during the appointment was absolutely amazing and they made me feel like I had been going there for years. I left looking and feeling awesome. The Salon itself is super edgy and that it something that I had a hard time finding at other places, although edgy, it is super clean and a very professional atmosphere, they aren't afraid to do certain cuts and colors that a lot of salons may stray away from.
