First (and last) visit. I am still pretty new to trying specialty teas and thought I would give One Tea on Standiford near Tully Rd. A shot. I was extremely disappointed! No other customers were there. At the time, there were 2 employees behind the counter. I let them know that I had never been there before and had no idea what I wanted to try. One employee wasn't paying any attention to me and the other stared at me waiting for me to order. I asked if they had any suggestions for me- NO RESPONSE! I asked what their favorite tea war for ideas- NO RESPONSE! I asked if they had anything with Chai- finally an answer (which was no, in case you were wondering). I gave up and opted for Jasmine Green Tea. The same employee behind the counter asked what add-ins I wanted. I asked which of them would go good with what I ordered- since I have no clue.. her response was that it doesn't come with anything. I decided to skip any add-ins. This was not a positive experience at all. As for the tea... it was absolutely DISGUSTING!! I adore the smell of Jasmine... but not to drink it. It was as if a whole bottle of Jasmine essential oil was poured into it- and I could not taste the green tea AT ALL. On the way home I took a couple more small sips hoping that it would grow on me, but I could not stand it. I love tea: black tea, chai, oolong, roobios, green tea..... but NOT this! If the customer service had been even 'ok', I may try it again.... maybe a completely different kind, but no. The 3 ladies were very uncaring. For a brand new customer- who could easily become a potential repeat customer- they did not even try-1 little bit to help me with my choice- even when I asked for it or make me feel comfortable in any way in their shop. This is such a cute shop, the decor is chic and the music is great. I went in not too sure what to order, but the lady at the register was extremely helpful. She asked me what flavors I liked and was able to recommend a drink that was super delicious. They work fast to get your order ready and to you. I've been a regular customer here for years, and my favorite was oolong milk tea. Today was my first time back after awhile because I didn't like the new staffs. The oolong tea quality wasn't the same anymore. It was very bland, watered down, like glucose water. They no longer honor the yelp coupon due to the change in ownership. My husband and I got to check out this place today for the very first time! Definitely impressed and will be back. We shared a Honeydew Milk Tea with Passion Fruit Jelly (Favorite so far), Fruity Pebbles Mango Smoothie With Rainbow Pearls, and a Strawberry Ice Cream Macaroon. They got 2 TVs.. one that plays music videos and the other Netflix lol. We liked it! We sat on the couch, relaxed after a long day at work, and enjoyed our goodies. Nice, helpful employees. Very cute new business in town. I love the painting on the side of the wall. Customer service was great. They did offer to make a new drink if we felt like the drink was off. That was a plus! On to the drinks... We got a few different kind of drinks. Start of with the passion fruit- It was definitely fruity, standard sweet are on the sweeter side (we were told it would be) A slush type drink. Fruity pebbles- standard sweetness was fine. It was a slush type drink. However, I had to get used to the gelatin under the drink, not too sure what it was. Winter melon tea- it was good. Very light and perfect sweetness. My only recommendation is don't get 30% ice cause you'll ended up with none. Pearl Milk Tea- standard sweetness is not sweet at all. If you like milk tea that aren't too sweet, this is for you. Don't get 30% ice cause you'll end up with none. Drinks are a little bit on the water down side. That's just my opinion though. I will be back to try the desserts. read more

The vibe at One Tea is good for people that are looking for a nice place to study and listen to LoFi Hip Hop. The drinks there are good too! One Tea follows the conventional structure of a standard boba restaurant where customers can choose from a selection of drinks and customize them to their liking. Based on just my first visit, it looks like this is going to be my go-to spot for matcha milk tea and hard core studying! Visited for the first time today. It has a great atmosphere. There were two associates working. There are plenty of options to choose from! I am dairy-free so it was great to find out they have almond or soy; but a lot of milk teas are already dairy-free. Upon ordering, you can choose 0,30,50,75,100% of ice and sugar. The employee said it was sweet so go with 0% since I don't really like sweet things. The young man accidentally did 50% (that was for ice). He remade it for me. I ordered the Earl Grey Milk Tea with Boba. I don't understand the other yelp reviewers rating this place a 4 or a 5 because the tea tasted wack to me. They used some sort of tea powder, and I know this because I saw mini specks of powdery brown stuff when I sipped it down. I love the taste of tea but this Earl Grey tasted processed and artificial to me. The boba, however, was the highlight of the drink. They are named "Rainbow Boba", which is just boba with different colors since different colored boba tasted the same. Also, they put waaay too much ice! I don't wanna hear it! I discovered this place because I was having a boba crave one day and I am quite surprised by the experience. This boba place has exceeded my expectations. I am from the Bay Area so I have had my fair share of boba (good and bad) so I was not expecting much from a place in the Central Valley. But let me tell you, this place is up to par with the many great boba places in the Bay Area. Service: 5/5 I came here twice and both times I received excellent customer service. Both times the drinks came out quick and the workers that helped me were very polite and helpful. The downside is that they don't have a tipping system if you pay with card, so you can only tip with cash and I did not carry cash both times. Drinks: 4/5 I ordered several drinks and they were pretty good. Matcha Latte with matcha boba and mochi balls, 80% sweetness - This drink was really good, the sweetness is exactly right, not too sweet and not too bland. The flavor of the matcha is good as well, it is not bitter like how some other places make it, and it tastes smooth and milky. The matcha pearls were also really good, but the mochi balls are hard in the center and was not cooked well enough so I didn't enjoy the mochi balls very much. Despite the mochi balls, I can say this is one of the best matcha drinks I've had out of everywhere else I've tried. Wintermelon Milk Tea with rainbow taro balls, 80% sweetness - I did not enjoy this drink as much as I enjoyed the matcha latte. Despite already adjusting my sweetness down to 80% it was still too sweet for me. The wintermelon taste is very faint so it just mostly tasted like sweet milk. The taro balls topping were okay, better than the mochi balls, but they were still pretty good. But overall this drink was still enjoyable but a little too sweet for my liking. Desserts: 2.5/5 They definitely need to work on this area on their menu. I ordered the milk tofu pudding with rainbow taro balls (cold) and a black sticky rice with rainbow taro balls (hot) and both desserts were just mediocre. The tofu pudding itself was pretty good because it was very silky and soft, but the sweet sauce was just okay. The black sticky rice dessert was not that great. It was very bland the the sticky rice was very mushy and the texture was not great. The upside about both the desserts were that the taro balls were really good, and they had a nice filling inside. Overall, this place is pretty good despite some shortcomings. Since this place is new, I hope that there is still room for improvement. I definitely will be back soon as this is currently my favorite boba spot in the area! read more

My Friends drink was water down she ordered a milk tea And mine was just a regular tea but what we really didn't like was the customer service. I was a little hesitant after my friend mentioned wanting to try this place a while back seeing as I'd never even heard of this sort of thing before. Luckily I've been beyond highly satisfied with every single different menu item I've tried here (and I've tried quite a few by now!). The staff is also amazing. They all are knowledgeable and helpful about menu items and recommendations, they go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience, they're quick to take your order and acknowledge your presence, and even when it's crowded they're still very quick to get drinks out. They also even sometimes offer samples of certain things before you order so that you don't end up ordering something you don't like, and one time an employee told me that if I didn't like the drink I ordered I could just tell them and they'd make me a new one. Since coming here the first time, I've tried a number of other places in Modesto and Turlock that offer milk tea and literally none of them have come remotely close to One Tea, both in quality of product and quality of service.
