Food was good. A bit pricey. The waitress had absolutely no personality. Probably won't return.

I will start by saying the food IS good. Ordered the General Tso and 2 rolls (sweet potato tempura and chicken teriyaki tempura roll). The General Tso came with a side salad so my girlfriend also ordered a house salad for an appetizer. The salads were ok. At the time they were good, but in retrospect they were just some greens, a single grape tomato and a pretty tasty peanut dressing. The General Tso's is where I hold my grudge. When the waitress put the dish down on the table both of our initial reactions were "where is the rest of it?". $14 for that "entree" is highway robbery. Was it a better quality General Tso than most Chinese restaurants? Absolutely. But the minuscule portion size is criminal for that price. The platter consisted of ~9 standard General Tso size pieces of chicken, a few pieces of broccoli and some garnish for appearance. Rice prices must be soaring because the bowl of rice that came with it was half empty. The sushi rolls were solid and probably the only thing I'll ever consider getting from there if I ever go back. Normal sized rolls for a fair price. $30+ tip to be leaving just as hungry as when we arrived? Keep your food. Won't be making another stop. read more

This place used to be top knotch, but had lost a step. Waitress are not as sharp as when it first opened. They serve you the wrong salad dressing for your orders ( more than one time), you order hibachi and don't bring out the dipping sauce( more than one time) Sorry but you better snap the whip on your staff. I came here recently with my heterosexual lifemate on a whim. It was either here or that Indian place down the street. Luck took us by way of Macada road, and boom we popped out right there. Sushi it is then. The stripmall this place is located in is new, and very intentionally designed for small restaurants or retail. Big windows, clean surfaces. One Third was no exception. A cute entryway leads to a small 25 to 50 person dining room with a sushibar right in front of your face. Like it or not (I happen to like it bunches), the sushi Chefs are mere feet from any table in the house. Service was prompt, minimal, and clean. Very Asian. Both waitresses were friendly, and brief. I do no know of a better combination for the front of the house. A free salad started us off. Spring mix, cherry tomato, ginger dressing. Pretty plain, simple, never would have ordered it. As a complimentary thing though, it made my day. The Chef who makes the dressing isn't afraid of seasoning or flavor. Bold gingery carroty sesame troopers invaded my mouth. I was defenseless. Great way to amp up my appetite... And then... My friend and I got 3 sushi rolls, and 5 orders (2 pieces per order) of nigiri. Our rolls were the Broken Heart (Spicy Tuna, Tuna, Tempura Flake), Shrimp Mango (Shrimp, Mango, Avocado, Mango Coconut Sauce), and a Hot Chili (Yellowtail, Jalapeño, Sraracha)... All of the rolls were very good, and although the Hot Chili roll had GREAT flavor, the name was a bit misleading. I don't love any heat past a 4 or 5, and this was a 1 or 2. The nigiri was good, well cut, albeit a bit small. Maybe it's due to there being 2 per order. In either case, their 2 was larger than anyone's one. Tuna was flavorful although a bit mild. None of that coppery meaty flavor one looks for in great tuna. The red snapper was DELICIOUS. One of my favorite fish raw, and it did not dissapoint. After we tanked all that sushi madness, we ordered a General Tao's(sic) and an Orange Chicken. Both were insanely flavorful and contained an alarmingly sparse amount of breading on the chicken. Can I admit I was dissapointed at first? My preconceptions ripping my culinary open-mindedness to pieces? Turns out it's WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better without that grease-infused basura that one gets on the outside of their overfried General Tso's from your local panda/garden/wok/yada yada yada. The chicken was chunky and substantial, and moist enough to make me write out this full sentence. The sauce is thick as usual, but had a certain rich, dare I say burnt caramel flavor? Radical? Yes. Delicious? Yes. I think my idea of General Tso's has been cognitively rewired in my brain. Our bill was $95, and with a $20 tip (never once saw the bottom, of my water glass, nor my friend's tea) it was a dinner that I felt gave me good vibes. Would I go here again, absolutely. Is it mind-blowing neo-asian cooking that will change the game? No, but it certainly is worth your time and more. If nothing else, get a General Tao's(sic) and get a fresh take on Chinese. When I first visited this place about 7 months ago, I was very impressed with the style, quality of the food and decor. I don;t know how anyone can say that a place is "too clean" as another poster commented. I would have given it 5 stars, but a recent visit changed my rating to 2 stars. The nigiri sushi fell apart the moment I picked it up. The hand roll I ordered was coming apart on the plate and the overall quality of the food was poor at best. i doubt the rice was even made properly with the correct amount of vinegar added since I didn't taste any. The miso soup was bland and the tuna appetizer lacked quantity as I have gotten it before. I was very disappointed as i thought this was going to be the best sushi place around, but laziness and sloppy food handling will only make this place mediocre. I am very disappointed. read more

This is a great addition to the area! The place is always clean, the food is consistently good, and they are attentive to special needs such as Gluten Free (celiac) restrictions. The prices are reasonable. I dine in and also do take-out on a consistent basis and I have not had a bad experience here. My experience here was overwhelmingly disappointing. Pros: + green curry chicken was good + my dining partner felt that the sesame chicken was alright +nice decor Cons: -the sweet potato "sushi" tasted like rice. Nothing more, nothing less. - it is probably not their fault, but the location on maps was Incorrect - the portion sizes are TINY - outrageous prices for what you actually get. - very limited choice of fish, and they didn't have what I wanted so I decided not to have any at all and ordered the green curry chicken as stated above. - Server was inattentive throughout the meal, despite the restaurant being basically empty. - they straight up IGNORED my request for certain ingredients to be excluded. Perhaps this was just a language barrier issue? -I thanked the server for our menus as I was walking to the table and instead of acknowledging me at all when I reached for our table's menus she just put it on the table like I wasn't there. - they do not accommodate changes in meal flavorings. At other restaurants I've been to, if I ask for a certain ingredient or flavoring they will accommodate it, even with the disclaimer of no refund if I dislike it. Those places are far cheaper, and have reasonable portion sizes at the very least if they aren't. Ultimately, this makes them cheaper anyway because We got a handful of the food we actually ordered with what i assume to be the rest of what would be a regular portion with extras that were unwanted. -the miso was watery, and the seaweed was tougher than it should be, and scarce. The miso soup tasted almost rotten. The website is very glitchy if you order online, in addition there was barely any soup in the container. The salad I ordered was only lettuce and it had to be cut up because the pieces were so big. We just ate here. Was always one of our favorite places until tonight. The food is always 5 stars however tonight they were extremely busy and we were literally rushed out the door. We ordered our entree and finished eating in 45 minutes. We were a party of 2 and they wanted our table to make a place for a larger group. It seemed okay to rush us out the door to cater to a larger group that had bottles of wine and a birthday cake they brought in from the outside. Note if you are a party of 2 this could happen to you also. May be a long time until we return , if ever, and that's a shame since we enjoy the food !!! read more

My husband and I came here for dinner on Saturday, February 28. The restaurant is small, yet warm, cozy, and inviting. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We found the prices to be reasonable and comparable to other similar places in the Valley. We both ordered the Pad Thai noodles...my husband got chicken and I had the mixed vegetables. I've eaten at this place numerous times and have never been disappointed. The sushi always had great flavor, a good balance of ingredients, and are well constructed. Although I have found that their sushi special for the day was never really worth it and I always found myself happier with one of the items on the menu. While I've only ever eaten sushi here, my friend has ordered some of their entrees before, including the teriyaki chicken, and the bites I have had at them were so good. The place has a nice charm to it inside. Well decorated and a good atmosphere. This place can get quite busy and it can be a little annoying that the tables are so close to one another when the place is packed (the space itself is fairly small), but the service is always friendly and the food makes up for it. read more

I never would have thought to go to a strip mall for sushi but this place was a very pleasant surprise. The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated with a modern fusion flair. I've always been a huge fan of Japanese hibachi, whether it's cooked in the kitchen or right in front of you. One Third does their hibachi preparation behind the scenes, but their quality, service, taste and classy, low-key ambiance are always perfect. Jeans and a t-shirt comfort, less than a dozen table likeliness of crowding, and fair prices make this place a sure bet for return dining. I urge any aficionado of asian cuisine to tempt their taste buds with the Tom Fun seafood soup. It's a fishy broth laden with diced onion, pepper, cherry tomato and a very respectable twang of spice. Properly primes the palate for what's coming next. Their sushi bar/sushi-neers that create the rolls are quick and clean, and the rolls we tried were well prepared, of fresh ingredients, and artistically presented. My Mexican roll was a novel concept to me, and there are several other rolls unique to One Third. A full menu of typical Chinese fare like General Tso's chicken/beef/shrimp and garlic sauce dishes completes the package. Overall, I caught the impression that the family running One Third may be a shift from the norm in typical Asian dining. Multiple families renting a Redners size space and cramming it full of commercialized American clichès to tickle our senses and booths to seat us in and extract $9.99 a plate is not what you'll find here. My go to place for sushi. I have not tried any of the thai or chinese menu items and don't plan to as I have heard from friends that they are not that good. I would say stick to the Japanese selections. The place is very nice and the service is great. My only gripe is that they changed my favorite roll in the entire world (their version of a sweet potato roll), and now it is just like every other place and no longer tastes good. One Third is a BYOB Asian eatery situated in an area of North Bethlehem that is underserved with respect to take out / dine in options. Overall the feel within the restaurant is acceptable and the staff has always been very nice during my several visits. One Third does tend to get busy on the weekends and as a result you may want to call ahead. Overall the food is average and they really lack the finishing touches to push them over the edge. This geographic location was dying for something like One Third and they do well due to the void that existed within this specific part of Bethlehem for sushi and Asian inspired menu items. Personally, my negatives with One Third involve the Asian menu rather than the sushi. The Chinese options are not on par with some of the better places across the Lehigh Valley and they have been bland and lacking any distinct flavors. Overall, it is an ok option for takeout but it is by no means a go to for sushi or Asian inspired food in the Lehigh Valley. read more

Hands down best Asian in the Lehigh Valley. Never got the sushi but got the chicken teriyaki bento lunch box my very first time there which was good. The second time and every time after I went I got the Hibachi chicken lunch and never looked back. I am truly addicted. For $9, you get salad with some awesome dressing which I want to lick the plate when I'm done lol and also you get soup. Then for the main course thee AMAZING hibachi chicken with fried rice and fresh vegetables. They give you a side of 2 dipping sauces - one ginger and one creamy sauce. It's heaven in your mouth. Came for lunch. Walked in and the decor was nice and relaxed. Ordered some tempura, spicy roll, soup and some other things. The tempura was hot and delicious. The rolls were really good with a nice blend of flavor. The crispy spicy roll was really different Thant I've had before and I really enjoyed it. Great contrast of hot and cold, fresh and fried. This is THE place to go if you are a Tom Yum soup fanatic. It is served VERY spicy, and it sets your taste buds humming! That Tom Yum soup rivals to what I make myself, A+++. I was very disappointed. My girlfriend came in before me and she asked the hostess for a table for 2 (there were several empty tables on a friday afternoon, maybe around 1 pm.) The lady at the front desk made her wait until I arrived even though I was about 4 minutes away. We finally got sat and ordered the Bento Box lunch special, Salmon hibachi lunch and Edamame. Salads got dropped immediately after we ordered which was fine but before we even got halfway done they dropped soups off which for obvious reasons isn't okay and before we had even touched the soup the Edamame came out. Everything felt super rushed and to put the icing on the cake before we finished the soup or the edamame out came our entrees. we had no room on the table and they were asking us what they could take away. Again it was a friday at around 1 pm and its not like there was a line out the door for people to be sat (two more tables were sat in the time we were there leaving about 3 tables empty) There was little to no reason for the rush and as someone who works in the food industry this made me very upset.
