We went around 11am, and they let us know we could also sit at The Olive since their patios are connected, which was a nice option. You order and pay first, which I personally like it just makes things easier. One of the coolest parts was the robot arm that makes the coffee, definitely fun to watch. The pastries were adorable and looked so good. We tried the espresso bean, banana, strawberry, and mango (which we've had before), and honestly, all of them were delicious--mango was still our favorite. I ordered a cinnamon oat latte, and it was actually really good--definitely something I'd get again. I also tried the rojo chilaquiles with sunny side up eggs. I'm glad I tried them, but they weren't really for me. They were a bit dry, and the flavor just wasn't my preference. That said, it wouldn't stop me from coming back. I've never been as immediately impressed walking into a café as I was at One Twelve. The space has an energy that pulls you in. While I can't speak to their coffee--I've been reluctant to try it, as the drinks look more like fast-food iced coffees than authentic café offerings--their bakery and kitchen are outstanding. this cafe is such a nice treat in Downey! all pastries are made in house. I tried the almond croissant and the outside was crisp but the inside was soft and flaky. it was absolutely perfect. I was tempted to try the dubai chocolate croissant but didn't end up getting it since it seemed like a little too much sugar for me this time. the service is wonderful and very attentive. this cafe gets quite busy even on weekday mornings. the line stretches out of the door during their peak rushes. I brought my laptop to do work here and it is quite busy and lively so not the best place to take calls or if you need peace and quiet, but if you don't mind being around the chatter, I'd recommend taking advantage of the free wifi and the many drink options provided here. read more

Craving a matcha latte I stopped at this place because it was on my way and it had good reviews. I'm glad I did because it was really good. I ordered an iced strawberry matcha with oatmilk. I don't think they used fresh strawberries which is better in my opinion but it was still tasty. It was sweeter than typical maybe because they use a syrup (not sure) but it was very creamy. The bathroom, however, was a bit messy. The trash cans were overflowing onto the floor which was a bit inconvenient. Here's a review of my order: Tuna Melt Panini: Decent sandwich, nothing special about it. Shareable. It comes with a choice of either salad or fries. My friend and I decided to split the sandwich and we asked for the fries. Again, the fries were nothing special. The prices, in my opinion, were a bit steep. For one sandwich with a side a fries, a coffee, and a can of Dr. Pepper, the order totaled $30ish before tip. The food was a bit mediocre and didn't really justify the price attached. read more

First time coming to this coffee shop. My one star is for one employee only. The cashier excellent customer service when asking her about a coffee that I was hesitant to get she explained how it taste and then I asked about a pastry. Pastry was by far my favorite!! Coffee isn't bad but the service here could use a boost. Came here to pick up an order that was phoned in. The line was out of the door. I could be wrong but it seemed like a gentleman who may have been a supervisor seemed to be directing traffic. When I told him I was here to pick something up he told me to go straight to the counter. When I walked in he followed me, went behind the counter, then ignored me for about 10 minutes until I was able to call another employee over for help who walked right past me. Just seems like a little more communication would work wonders for this place.
