    Salmon toast

This is a neighborhood restaurant with old school charm. The flair is French cuisine inspired with touches of California and local flavors. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable for today's economy, but on some entrees the balance is a bit off. The Salmon Savory Crepe is generously served with a delicious piece of salmon, but the crepe filled with mushrooms and onions becomes soggy and unappetizing. In addition, the Bechamel sauce served was bland and definitely not freshly made. Their sandwiches, desert crepes, and soups are excellent. I think being selective on what you order would definitely benefit here. Their coffee is also another plus and a good homage for their French inspiration.

    Chilaquiles and Eggs Benedict

Really loved the food here! The eggs Benedict had a different type of bread than what I'm used to and I liked it! Potatoes seemed to be boiled than fried which was great. Chilaquiles with the green sauce was amazing as well. Not too spicy, and I appreciated how it wasn't drenched with the sauce so id be able To have the crunchiness. Chicken was cooked well where it wasn't too dry either. Cute space with outside seating, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Thanks!

I haven't been here in a very long time but it hasn't changed much. I ordered the hot chocolate because I remembered how good it was. Still is. For my entree I ordered the chicken poblano crepe. It was a 7/10. I also ordered soup, no picture. That was good. 8.5/10. The bf ordered a basic meal. He was not impressed. I told him he should have ordered a crepe. The restaurant is still cute with the Parisian vibe.

Best breakfast I've ever had. I'm not a huge breakfast person; I don't love eggs or pancakes/waffles, but decided to stop by here to work on a paper. I ordered a breakfast that came with a waffle, potatoes, eggs, bacon, and sausage. I also got an iced coffee with raspberry syrup. Everything was delicious, the waffle had a special flavor that was absolutely delicious. The breakfast potatoes weren't crispy, which usually is a miss for me, but they were seasoned so nicely I didn't even care. The sausage was sweet and the bacon melted in my mouth. I also liked the eggs, despite not being an egg person. The latte was delicious too, and I can be pretty picky with coffee because I make it at home! Overall 10/10 including service, will be back in the future. (Picture of my empty plate for proof of enjoyment)

OVERALL: slow service, mediocre food FOOD: we waited approximately 30 minutes for crepes... their mugs ironically say "it's worth the wait" but it's not. The crepes were cold and the fruit was clearly thawed out. The bananas were completely brown. Why they think it's ok to serve fruit that isn't fresh is beyond me. My stomach hurt after eating here. The bacon was also overcooked it was so hard to eat. SERVICE: the staff is friendly but the wait for food is ridiculous. Not worth it. VENUE: the venue itself was nice. Decent decor and clean.

Are sweet and savory crepes for lunch. both were delicious and was nice to share this meal with my niece. We ate outside and the umbrellas shaded us from the sun. Great location in downtown Shittuer Village on a corner. Shoutout to our server Margarita.

So I went back today to have the eggs Benedict Florentine. I was so impressed the last time I was there but not today. I didn't enjoy my breakfast. The bread was tough and this time they served me a very small portion of potatoes compared to last time. By the way Nicholas was not there he was so nice instead a young girl was my server Jasmine

Honestly the cutest little local restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating; enough for a family breakfast or dinner. They can get busy but when I went I was seated right away. Fast and friendly service. I got a cinnamon roll and my friend a Nutella crepe they were both delicious. She let me sneak a bite

We started off by ordering drinks; my husband tried their Bodega Brewing Co. 'Mala Suerta' Dark Lager, and I had the Pinot Grigio 2024 La Boatina. Both of our drinks were great! For food we shared the Paella and Satchel's Mac & Cheese. Both dishes were delicious, full of flavor, and had generous portions. We finished off our meal with the Crema Catalana for dessert, which was bright, zesty, refreshing, and tasty! It's a lighter dessert that is just the right amount of sweet. The whole meal was excellent! Clearly a lot of love and energy has gone into this menu. The ingredients are high quality and the dishes are full of flavor. The staff are friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is perfect for a nice evening out. It's very cozy and romantic with beautiful decor. Before tip it was just about $85. Honestly a steal in our opinion, the meal and experience is well worth the money. This place popped up, and it was happy hour. So we thought why not. We got lucky and found parking close (rare for that street). And walked over and immediately loved the vibe. We walked in and were greeted immediately, and then brought upstairs. The decor on the way up was awesome. The old school nature, with paintings and abstract vintage pieces.. love. It felt like we were in an old industrial building. We were surprised that it was pretty empty when we got up there. We sat at the bar, and love the decor upstairs too. There's a view of the street from up there as well that's beautiful. The bartender greeted us fairly quickly, and we each ordered a speciality cocktail on their happy hour. Both were delicious. I will say that the prices are a bit steep for me. Very glad we came during the happy hour. But really want to return to try the food and more drinks. Maybe on a special date night out!

The Hobbit Where do I even begin?…read more This place is magnificent, spectacular, and truly majestic. Every dish is beautifully created with an incredible level of attention to detail you can feel the care, artistry, and intention behind every course. The chefs here are doing something truly special. This is absolutely a special-occasion restaurant: anniversaries, milestone birthdays, wedding dinners, or a once-in-a-lifetime date night. You will be spending a pretty penny, but that's because this is not an everyday Friday-night dinner spot it's a full culinary experience. If I had the budget, I'd come every week... maybe twice. Dinner is a multi-course tasting experience that begins around 5 PM and carries you through the evening you'll likely be there until 10 PM or later. There's a wine cellar, curated pairings, and an atmosphere that feels intimate, elevated, and deeply intentional. This place is clearly designed for guests with an elevated palate and a true appreciation for the culinary arts and thoughtfully sourced, curated dishes. For just my husband and me, we spent a little over $600 for the evening, and I can honestly say every single dollar was worth it. If you're someone who loves food, storytelling through cuisine, and unforgettable dining experiences, this is a must. You're able to interact with the chefs, the staff is incredibly hospitable and professional, and the entire experience feels warm yet refined. I truly cannot rave enough about this restaurant. I came here for my wedding anniversary, which is very special to me and I have a relatively young child and they were still able to accommodate this alone to me meant the world and for them to be able to accommodate to a small child was incredibly amazing. Overall, it was a fun experience, and I'm glad we finally had the chance to try it! The Good: Our server was outstanding. Friendly, engaging, and attentive throughout the entire meal, they made each course enjoyable and really elevated the experience with great hospitality. The Food: Some dishes were excellent, while others were just okay. The filet mignon was a great cut of meat in general, but mine arrived closer to blue/rare despite ordering it medium rare. It wasn't a huge issue, and it was still enjoyable. Overall, nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out compared to other fine dining restaurants I've visited. Considering the price, I also found the portion sizes a bit underwhelming. 3/5 The Meh: The cocktail reception area gets very crowded before dinner. There's only one small bar, so drinks can take a while. The bread and appetizers were served family style, with guests grabbing items by hand, which wasn't my favorite. We were in a private dining room, but the space still felt cramped. For couples or smaller parties looking for a more intimate fine dining experience, the atmosphere may feel a bit too crowded. Heads Up: -There is a cancellation fee for reservations. -Free parking is available in the lot. There is no valet service. -An 18% gratuity is automatically added to the bill. Overall, I'm happy we experienced it at least once. The service was the highlight of the evening, while the food and atmosphere didn't quite live up to the expectations that come with the price and the difficulty of getting a reservation.

We started with the baguette bread service, which is an additional charge but 100% worth it. The bread, salted butter, and mixed berry spread were pure France in a basket. Next up was the French onion soup, and wow. Cheesy, full of flavor, with a beautiful broth that somehow managed to be rich without being too salty. Perfection. Then came the Big Mec burger, as seen on Food Network's top burgers -- and yes, it absolutely lives up to the hype. Definitely enough for two. Perfectly seasoned patties, melty cheese, a fresh brioche bun, and that bordelaise sauce bath underneath? Flavor-forward, decadent, and unforgettable. Got seated on the patio on a beautiful day, so we were perfectly happy. After a quick glance at the menu, our recommendations from our server, we decided to order. We started with the escargot, as one does at a French restaurant, and the French onion soup. The escargot cube bathed in butter, garlic and parsley and were very tasty. I mean, how can they not be when bathed in garlic and butter? The French onion soup was also delicious with ample gruyere cheese overflowing. Pure indulgence! For entrees, we all tried something different. The steak frites were.... steak frites. If you've tried one, you've tried most, so not very memorable. The duck confit was cooked well and not overly fatty, which was nice. The omelette, let me say, is beautiful to look at. You almost don't want to touch it because it is very picrure-esque, and absolutely cooked perfectly. A, dare I say, perfect omelette. Finally was the Big Mec. Now, there are a lot of good burgers in Los Angeles, but the Big Mec is one of the greats. So much flavor with the double wagyu patties, cheese, special sauce all while sitting in a Bordelaise sauce. It isn't something you would eat every day, as it is heavy, but it is phenomenal when you do. I'd say one of the top five burgers in Los Angeles, in my humble opinion. Overall, delicious French restaurant in Hollywood, a little above Hancock Park, serving delicious food. Get the escargot and French onion soup to start, and definitely get the omelette and the Big Mec, you will not be disappointed.

Like most French bistro they have a shorter but traditional menu, with the usual suspects - onion soup, pate, escargot, charcuterie board, mussels, steak frites, Bouillabaisse - but what drew us in was the duck confit cassoulet. We have eaten cassoulet in Carcasonne, the home of cassoulet, and this was definitely worthy of the name. Gamey, savoury, duck falling off the bone, beans swimming in an umami broth, definitely lip lickingly good. However the vegetarian cassoulet was not as flavourful, it was nice, but needed more garlic, pepper, some herbs or seasoning, a little more oomph. The fennel was delish, but the beans bordering on bland and there was very little broth to dip my baguette into. With a belly full of beans we decided to order dessert because why not! Life is short, eat dessert, c'est la vie. Creme brulee was creamy with a tappingly good sugar crust, and the chocolate mousse had a nice consistency but was overwhelmed by cinnamon, which was a pity. It was definitely worth the visit for the Duck cassoulet, and we will visit again to try the onion soup and moules.
