    Figaro Omelet

First time here I ordered the chicken and waffles. I was so grossed out I spit it out. The chicken wasn't crispy it was soggy and the spicy maple sauce tasted like bad hot sauce and kinda like ketchup I didn't get maple. The waffle was the super sweet kind not to my taste. The waitress was very kind and quickly took a new order so the service is great. The place is quiet and has a nice mood to it I do enjoy that. My second order was the Figaro Omelet. Much better! Mildly confused why my omelet seems to have cinnamon lol

This is a neighborhood restaurant with old school charm. The flair is French cuisine inspired with touches of California and local flavors. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable for today's economy, but on some entrees the balance is a bit off. The Salmon Savory Crepe is generously served with a delicious piece of salmon, but the crepe filled with mushrooms and onions becomes soggy and unappetizing. In addition, the Bechamel sauce served was bland and definitely not freshly made. Their sandwiches, desert crepes, and soups are excellent. I think being selective on what you order would definitely benefit here. Their coffee is also another plus and a good homage for their French inspiration.

Delicious combination of sweet and creamy. The crepe was soft and buttery. Looking forward to trying other flavors.

Really loved the food here! The eggs Benedict had a different type of bread than what I'm used to and I liked it! Potatoes seemed to be boiled than fried which was great. Chilaquiles with the green sauce was amazing as well. Not too spicy, and I appreciated how it wasn't drenched with the sauce so id be able To have the crunchiness. Chicken was cooked well where it wasn't too dry either. Cute space with outside seating, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Thanks!

I haven't been here in a very long time but it hasn't changed much. I ordered the hot chocolate because I remembered how good it was. Still is. For my entree I ordered the chicken poblano crepe. It was a 7/10. I also ordered soup, no picture. That was good. 8.5/10. The bf ordered a basic meal. He was not impressed. I told him he should have ordered a crepe. The restaurant is still cute with the Parisian vibe.

Best breakfast I've ever had. I'm not a huge breakfast person; I don't love eggs or pancakes/waffles, but decided to stop by here to work on a paper. I ordered a breakfast that came with a waffle, potatoes, eggs, bacon, and sausage. I also got an iced coffee with raspberry syrup. Everything was delicious, the waffle had a special flavor that was absolutely delicious. The breakfast potatoes weren't crispy, which usually is a miss for me, but they were seasoned so nicely I didn't even care. The sausage was sweet and the bacon melted in my mouth. I also liked the eggs, despite not being an egg person. The latte was delicious too, and I can be pretty picky with coffee because I make it at home! Overall 10/10 including service, will be back in the future. (Picture of my empty plate for proof of enjoyment)

OVERALL: slow service, mediocre food FOOD: we waited approximately 30 minutes for crepes... their mugs ironically say "it's worth the wait" but it's not. The crepes were cold and the fruit was clearly thawed out. The bananas were completely brown. Why they think it's ok to serve fruit that isn't fresh is beyond me. My stomach hurt after eating here. The bacon was also overcooked it was so hard to eat. SERVICE: the staff is friendly but the wait for food is ridiculous. Not worth it. VENUE: the venue itself was nice. Decent decor and clean.

Honestly the cutest little local restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating; enough for a family breakfast or dinner. They can get busy but when I went I was seated right away. Fast and friendly service. I got a cinnamon roll and my friend a Nutella crepe they were both delicious. She let me sneak a bite

So I went back today to have the eggs Benedict Florentine. I was so impressed the last time I was there but not today. I didn't enjoy my breakfast. The bread was tough and this time they served me a very small portion of potatoes compared to last time. By the way Nicholas was not there he was so nice instead a young girl was my server Jasmine

Are sweet and savory crepes for lunch. both were delicious and was nice to share this meal with my niece. We ate outside and the umbrellas shaded us from the sun. Great location in downtown Shittuer Village on a corner. Shoutout to our server Margarita.

Phlight in Whittier, A True Local Gem!…read more Phlight in Whittier is a staple for our family, and every visit reminds us why we love supporting this wonderful, locally owned and family-run restaurant. From the moment you walk in, you feel the hospitality. This family genuinely loves what they do, and you can taste that love in every dish they serve. Phlight specializes in tapas-style, shareable plates, and when I say you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, I mean it! Everything we've ever ordered has been delicious. They also have an impressive wine selection, available by the glass or bottle. And if you're a Bordeaux fan, be sure to try their own-label Bordeaux, it is absolutely delicious and pairs beautifully with the food. Last night's dinner was another home run. We started with our go-to Yuzu Caesar Salad, incredible! Tangy, fresh, and such a delicious take on a classic Caesar. We also had the sweet potato fries with their aioli dipping sauce, which are always a must. We each ordered a taco, shrimp and pork belly, and both were SO good. Then we shared the paella, which was absolutely delicious. Some of the portions were generous enough that our party of two had to take some home... and honestly, I'm already looking forward to those leftovers! Phlight has also recently relocated to Greenleaf Avenue, and they have done an incredible job with the new space. It's beautiful, welcoming, and feels like a wonderful evolution of a restaurant that was already special. And the service? Still completely on point. Oh, and the music is always on point too! If you're ever in Whittier or anywhere in the surrounding area, do yourself a favor and make a stop at Phlight. Come hungry, order a few plates to share, try a glass of wine, and enjoy the experience. Phlight is one of those local businesses you're proud to support...great food, great wine, great music, and most importantly, a genuinely wonderful family behind it all. #Phlight #Whittier #WhittierEats #SupportLocal #FamilyOwned #LocalGem #Tapas #SoCalEats #Foodie

This place popped up, and it was happy hour. So we thought why not. We got lucky and found parking close (rare for that street). And walked over and immediately loved the vibe. We walked in and were greeted immediately, and then brought upstairs. The decor on the way up was awesome. The old school nature, with paintings and abstract vintage pieces.. love. It felt like we were in an old industrial building. We were surprised that it was pretty empty when we got up there. We sat at the bar, and love the decor upstairs too. There's a view of the street from up there as well that's beautiful. The bartender greeted us fairly quickly, and we each ordered a speciality cocktail on their happy hour. Both were delicious. I will say that the prices are a bit steep for me. Very glad we came during the happy hour. But really want to return to try the food and more drinks. Maybe on a special date night out!

The upstairs host Kori was amazing. She was bubbly, kind and super helpful. Now to our waitress, there was a bit to be desired there. My wife felt like with each thing she asked for she was bothering her. ( I will omit her name out of kindness, she may have been dealing with something personal and having a bad day. ) Now to the food. The Drinks, my wife's Paloma was delicious. I had a Makers 46 neat. Very basic whiskey selections but it was good. Our appetizer, the Artichoke dip came out to us tepid after 20 minutes of waiting for it and the chips borderline stale. I had the Bo Burger, the pork belly and aioli carried it. Fries were ok. My wife had chicken milanese it was fantastic, she just had to request extra sauce. Coke Zeros were flat, we sent them back. So my wife had a Proseco and she enjoyed that. Upon putting in the reservation I stated it was my wife's birthday, Kori even asked we told her and I'm pretty sure it was relayed to the serve who said nothing and didn't inquire whether we wanted dessert or offer anything. My wife asked for a box, she put the box on the table and walked away. We had to ask a busser for a bag and a cup for her sauce. He was very sweet, he filled our waters and asked if we needed anything else. The restaurant charges a 5% fee for the team, you can decline it. We didn't. I even still gave the server a respectable tip. Sadly she could have received twice as much because I used to serve when I was much younger. My wife is a Dorector in the Hospitality industry and she loves giving extra. I understand the struggle but if she was as charismatic as Kori she could make more and really add to the restaurant. Needless to say we will not make the hour and 15 minute drive again.

Overall, it was a fun experience, and I'm glad we finally had the chance to try it! The Good: Our server was outstanding. Friendly, engaging, and attentive throughout the entire meal, they made each course enjoyable and really elevated the experience with great hospitality. The Food: Some dishes were excellent, while others were just okay. The filet mignon was a great cut of meat in general, but mine arrived closer to blue/rare despite ordering it medium rare. It wasn't a huge issue, and it was still enjoyable. Overall, nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out compared to other fine dining restaurants I've visited. Considering the price, I also found the portion sizes a bit underwhelming. 3/5 The Meh: The cocktail reception area gets very crowded before dinner. There's only one small bar, so drinks can take a while. The bread and appetizers were served family style, with guests grabbing items by hand, which wasn't my favorite. We were in a private dining room, but the space still felt cramped. For couples or smaller parties looking for a more intimate fine dining experience, the atmosphere may feel a bit too crowded. Heads Up: -There is a cancellation fee for reservations. -Free parking is available in the lot. There is no valet service. -An 18% gratuity is automatically added to the bill. Overall, I'm happy we experienced it at least once. The service was the highlight of the evening, while the food and atmosphere didn't quite live up to the expectations that come with the price and the difficulty of getting a reservation.

Like most French bistro they have a shorter but traditional menu, with the usual suspects - onion soup, pate, escargot, charcuterie board, mussels, steak frites, Bouillabaisse - but what drew us in was the duck confit cassoulet. We have eaten cassoulet in Carcasonne, the home of cassoulet, and this was definitely worthy of the name. Gamey, savoury, duck falling off the bone, beans swimming in an umami broth, definitely lip lickingly good. However the vegetarian cassoulet was not as flavourful, it was nice, but needed more garlic, pepper, some herbs or seasoning, a little more oomph. The fennel was delish, but the beans bordering on bland and there was very little broth to dip my baguette into. With a belly full of beans we decided to order dessert because why not! Life is short, eat dessert, c'est la vie. Creme brulee was creamy with a tappingly good sugar crust, and the chocolate mousse had a nice consistency but was overwhelmed by cinnamon, which was a pity. It was definitely worth the visit for the Duck cassoulet, and we will visit again to try the onion soup and moules.

A couple of the things that Cafe Bizou is known for, and that I love, are their inexpensive soup du jour and house salad, just $4 each, and a $2 corkage fee if you bring your own wine. And there is no limit on the number of bottles you can bring! The service at Cafe Bizou is outstanding. For our large group dinner, Benoit took great care of us. Everything came out perfectly and we had such a fun evening. For the anniversary dinner, Jaime took care of us. He is super friendly and very helpful. Both servers have been with the restaurant for many years...I think both go back to the Sherman Oaks days which says a lot about the establishment. The food is prepared perfectly, and I love everything that I have had there. A new appetizer for the table that I tried for the first time and really enjoyed is the pâté du jour. There are also nightly plats du jour, and on Friday nights the whole lobster dinner is a great deal if you love lobster. If you don't bring your own bottle of wine, they have a very extensive wine list along with a full bar. For our anniversary dinner, we were surprised with a flourless chocolate cake slice. It was delicious. My significant other got the prix fix option which comes with a dessert, so while we were so full, we opted for the ice cream with chocolate sauce. When we were finished, we were stuffed. One other person that I wanted to mention who was super helpful was Jenny. While the restaurant was closed for their annual holiday shutdown, she was able to help me make the reservation for the large party since the reservation app could only accommodate a party of eight. She was so great and I appreciated her help so very much. Between the food, the service, and the value, I look forward to heading back to Cafe Bizou soon.
