Love this R Fields! Usually you find R Fields located inside Foodland but this location is a stand alone connected to the grocery store. We walked in to grab a few bottles of wine for a BYOB dinner next door and were greeted by a fantastic selection. This can feel overwhelming because earnestly after a long day I don't want to make anymore decisions. Luckily their wine buyer was working the counter and he gave us several great suggestions! We were so happy with his helpfulness and we walked out with two lovely bottles, each under $20. We enjoyed the bottles with my in-laws and it made our pizza dinner extra memorable. Next time we're in the area we're definitely going to stop by to grab a few bottles for our celebration!

I am going to start this review with one, major fact: I am a foodie. BIG time. Which means that I enjoy ALL different kinds of food. I also should mention that I lived in Europe for nearly 11 years- wandering like a gipsy. I moved back home *accepting* the fact that many of the foods that became a staple in my daily life (like great wine, mozzarella di bufala and pate) I would no longer have access to... at least, not as easily. Then- one day- beau and i were waiting for our table at prima pizza and decided to buy a bottle of wine at the shop right next door... I walked in, glanced around - and suddenly like a strike of lightning (the good kine) the light of heaven shone through the shelves of bottles of primitivo wine and then again through the glass doors of the refrigerated section of the real mozzarella and burrata and gorgonzola cheese and they began to sing to me like an enchanting chorus of angels and then I turned to the right and there was a section of prosciutto di San Daniele and pate with black truffle and imported speck and I just about fainted when I saw the infused olive oils from puglia and sardegna... Beau liked the whiskey options and the only reason why we left and I didn't drool on the floor was because we had reservations elsewhere AND I bought half a pound of pate, some awesome organic chocolates and crispy flat bread crackers... I'll be back for the cheese!! You can sample pretty much anything in the salumi and pate section to make sure you like it. Pate runs from about $15 to $20 per pound. You don't need a lot!! It can stretch if you're making some predinner fancy schmancy snacks.

Charcuterie is a must, but their smoked Salmon box might be my favorite. Charcuterie is full of top grade imported cured meats and cheeses. If anything, you have to get their goat cheese truffles. Me and my family fight over these whenever we get them. In shop, they also have a wide variety of wines. I would always recommend calling to see what they have in stock. The servers and owners are very informative and can explain all points of purposes of food, pairings, and how to enjoy each component. Very welcoming into their establishment and make you feel at home. I have yet to take a one of the classes because most of the time I can't get a group together, but also because they are always sold out. It's a hot commodity in high demand!

She introduced the cheeses in the chilled display, and I decided to try the brie with black truffle. I was apprehensive when i saw the price tag ($17!), she very kindly offered to cut a smaller wedge for me. Then i saw a stilton with mango and ginger and just HAD to try it (it's soooo good on its own I ate half at one go!!) Didn't ask what the tables and mismatched-but-somehow-coordinating chairs were for, (possibly workshops or tasting parties?) but they look super inviting and cosy. I can't stop thinking abt the stilton so i might go back for more soon.

The goat cheese platter is great too, the garlic one was my favorite. Pro tip: bring your own crackers or you'll pay more for theirs. Overall Thoughts: Best Thing I ate: Literally everything is good Something to Improve: The flies are annoying so you can set them a sugar tray aka left over ice cream and leave it on the side

There's free parking located on the property with a short walk to the Farm Shop, which should be a good starting point for any visit. I took advantage of the tour offered on Fridays (I believe Saturdays as well). Locals and military also get a small discount. With that being said, it appears to be geared more toward those with children. During my time here, there was actually a school field trip going through at roughly the same time. Expect the tour to take approximately an hour to consist of feeding and handmilking goats while also getting to see the different facilities. As some others state, there is a typical farm smell, but it's not overpowering. Heidi served as my guide and was happy to answer any questions I had regarding the process and small farm operations. Can't say enough good things about her. I ended the tour with a stop at the Farm Shop and purchased a goat cheese flight with crackers with plantation tea for lunch along with a couple things to take home to include caramel and soap. The flight consisting of a couple varieties was actually so rich and fulfilling that I actually stretched the meal to dinner too! My personal favorite was the olive flavor. The caramel, now that I'm home, is a welcome addition to my morning coffee. I'd love to visit again in the future to see what other future concoctions they come up with!
