    The boy donating.

What's better than getting two free movie tickets for a simple, 30 minutes of getting your blood sucked out of your body? Getting FOUR movie tickets because your son is finally old enough to donate too! Luckily, we were in the area of this Big Red Bus and were able to walk right in. After filling out the paperwork and answering the standard questions; it was time for us to chug a soda and donate that sweet vampire nectar. The staff of two nurses were great and accommodating, constantly working together to get us in and out without much hassle or delay. I'm just glad my son was excited to give as much as I was to get the movie tickets. In my experience, it is better to make an appointment rather than swing by on a whim, but luckily this worked for us.

The Big Red Bus makes donating blood very convenient. As soon as you enter the bus you are immediately greeted and the staff is ready to go. I already have an account established so it cut a few minutes from the process. I was in and out of the chair in about twenty minutes. After giving blood they often offer a parting gift. Usually it's a tote or a shirt with a ten dollar gift card. The gift card is part of a Donor Rewards Program. 12 to 36 hours after your donation you log onto their website and put in your rewards code. This gives you access to pick a $10 eGift from many different establishments. Several days after your donations or will receive an email with a mini health update from your wellness check prior to giving blood.

I can't think of a better way to celebrate daughters day 2020 than donating blood as a team My girl did awesome on her first donation & knocked it out of the park.

If the staff wasn't so friendly, they would've only gotten a 4 Star Review for running out of oatmeal raisin cookies.

This is the absolute WORST! I went here bc they offered the smallpox vaccine incentive, but…read morelearned you must first donate 2-3 times BEFORE the smallpox vaccine incentive. Ok, I was willing. The 1st visit- nobody seems to man the "customer service" desk, I arrived 5-10 minutes after opening and went directly to the customer service desk where I stood waiting for 10 minutes before a very bored looking technician asked if I need d something!? She got another sad/bored employee to help me. No one in this place looks happy, there is NO music, I went in February and the remnants of old Xmas decor was still partially taped to various places on the wall. I've gone 3 times now, every time the technician (always a different one) jabs the needle in my arm... then starts "threading" the needle in my vein!! The last time I was there: 4-5 "suits" there waiting for a manager, the kiosk dirty and looks like syrup on it (at opening), rude tech doing vitals calling out my weight, and while donating, a technician named something like Janeka (?) bummed my corner donation bed so hard, it shifted about 6" and she never apologized or checked if everything was okay! NO ONE is happy here.. not employees or donors! I'd rather go back to BioLife... not as much $$ but the employees are always so sweet, the place is spotless and music is always playing! Oh... and you can make an appointment and not have to wait HOURS! Kedplasma needs to just shut their doors: dirty environment, rude/unhappy employees.

My boyfriend who went here to get his plasma donated had a horrible experience. Overall the…read morebeginning process went smoothly besides the managers being rude the whole time. But when the "nurse" who put the needle in his arm, completely missed his vein and DUG the needle around in his arm for a minute, and had to have someone else re poke him to find it! This resulted in him developing a hematoma, along with sever bruising and pain! You would think a plasma donation center would have professionals to do the procedure but don't be surprised if you're next.

I accompanied my fiancé here for his first donation because I had my own first-donor appointment…read morescheduled for the following morning. After this experience, I canceled mine. His appointment was at 12:30 PM. We arrived at approximately 12:33. Despite there being very few people waiting and no one actively donating when we arrived, he was not acknowledged or called back until approximately 1:04. At around 1:14, an employee told me I could not remain inside. I explained that my fiancé had the car keys and I needed to get them from him. Instead of helping me retrieve the keys, she repeatedly told me to "leave the premises" and that I could not stay inside. There was an active heat advisory, and the temperature felt like approximately 103°F. I also have an existing knee injury that was becoming increasingly painful while standing outside. I had no access to the car or air conditioning. Despite repeatedly communicating with my fiancé inside and him attempting to find an employee so he could bring me the keys, I did not receive them until 1:38 PM. I spent approximately 24 minutes outside in the heat and was drenched in sweat by the time I was finally able to get into the vehicle. Unfortunately, the experience inside wasn't much better. My fiancé was instructed to use either the second or fourth terminal for his questionnaire, despite both of those terminals being marked out of service. He was then directed to wait for other people to finish using different terminals. Once he finally got access to one, he had to complete 53 questions while the machine read each question and answer choice aloud. At approximately 2:22 PM--nearly two hours after his scheduled appointment--he STILL had not received his physical, much less begun donating. At that point, we both gave up and left. He spent nearly two hours at the center and never even reached the physical examination. I understand that first-time donor appointments take longer and require additional screening, paperwork, and education. I was fully expecting that. What I was not expecting was disorganization, contradictory instructions, extremely poor communication, and an employee refusing to help me access our vehicle while sending me outside during a heat advisory. I specifically accompanied him because I wanted to see what the process was like before my own appointment the next morning. This experience answered that question for me. I canceled my appointment and will be donating elsewhere. I would strongly recommend that management review the first-time donor process at this location, particularly staffing, communication, working equipment, wait times, and how employees handle situations involving guests who need access to a donor's belongings.

TL;DR - If you've donated blood in the last 8 weeks, don't bother going…read more I'm going to give them two stars for now, but I may raise it based on future visits. I would do one star, but everyone working there was very nice. I did everything I was supposed to. Made an appointment, had my paperwork straight, etc. I got there and signed in. I told them I'd just finished dinner, as recommended, and was still handed a big bag of Goldfish crackers and a bottle of water to eat while I sat in the waiting room. So I had to put that on top of a full stomach. Long story short, I went through an hour of jumping through hoops only to be turned away because I had donated blood less than 8 weeks ago. Really? If they had asked that at the beginning, I could have avoided wasting my time and space in my poor stomach.

When I came in I was told kids are not allowed. The guy at the desk was trying to explain to me why. When his co worker Janessa came up behind him and gave me an earful and a horrible attitude and then recommended that I leave my child in the car in the parking lot while I donate. It was my first time here and first time ever donating. I looked over the entire website and It didn't say don't bring children (one of the girls told me the other centers have a small area for kids-just not this one). I am a nurse and have patients bring their children to the hospital with them for routine tests and visits often. I understand that it's for his safety, and why after the office manager explained it to me. However, Janessa didn't have to be so incredibly nasty with me. And because of that, I will not be back and I'll not recommend this place to anyone else. The recommending me to leave my kid in the car in the parking lot was an exceptionally extra hateful touch. I cannot imagine this woman will not have complaints similar to mine going forward. I asked the manager to look at the camera and replay the interaction. She gave me "corporates" number, and it was just the 888-472-0099 card services number. She did give me an email of a manager, which I'll post attached to the review.
