I found this a complete scam of a store. In fact, they all are on the water front - this one specifically is the worst. I went to two previous stores looking for basic information on a wide angle lens and they both were complete jerks so I left. Was quite taken aback so figured - let's try this place - can't seriously hit 3 for 3. Well - that's exactly what happened. The initial staff member was great. He was extremely helpful, however the prices were double what I was expecting back in Canada which I felt was very odd. Then, he put one lens on my camera and it was not a 'true' wide angle - it distorted the image - yet this was over $900? They showed me another product for $500 which was an Axes screw on lens thing - which was just as bad. I suggested I wanted to do some research and another guy came over and tried to take over the 'sales' thing. He was incredibly rude to his staff and then wanted to show me online the 'online advertised' price - it was over $600 - he then said he would sell it for $390. I continued to suggest I would like to do some research and he got extremely mad and rude, told me I was wasting his time and basically kicked us out of his store. I could not believe it. I got back to my hotel and did some research on these screw on wide angle lens things and found them starting around $25.00 - and with very poor reviews as they are basically a magnifying glass over your lens - pure junk. Absolute SCAM. I was an idiot who fell into their deceptive demo of a really cheap extender and paid at a ridiculous overprice! They showed a (fake?) web site where the extender is priced in Euros at stratospheric prices. They even put additional stuff for you over the counter to create a bundle + discount offer that looks like a great deal if as me, you don't have internet access in your cell outside of your home country and are then, unable to do your own research. Shocked to learn how many reports they have in the Better Business Bureau and yet they're still on business. Check also the RipOff Report to learn more about these gangsters. BEWARE!!!! If I could give this place zero or negative stars, I would. Just like the others say, these guys are complete SCAM artists. My mom walked in for a $10 cleaning kit for her camera and next thing I know I turn around and they are showing her an HD wide lens for her Nikon camera. They bring up a fake website where it shows a price of $1,500 but there she can get it for $820. What a bargin! Then they start "throwing in" other random "$50 filters" to sweeten the deal. Despite my suggestions that we should think about it (i.e. do some research) my mom takes the bait and I stand by helplessly as they run her card. Later on that night, she pulls out the handwritten receipt looks it all up online. The HD wide lens is being sold by private parties on Amazon for roughly $120-150, the majority of the reviews are horrible and (interestingly enough) many of them mention the scam!!! He started the price at 799, and I as a gullible idiot bought it for 200 thinking I was getting some smashing deal because even the way he presented the lens tricky tricky. I was ripped off here ...shame on me. i bought a certain lens at what I believed was a well discounted price. Again, shame on me. I was rope-a-doped like a naive little schoolboy. It was an impulse buy that seemed to solve a certain photo need. I get the lens home and put it on my Nikon D90 and it looks nothing like how it took a pic on the store's D90. Having done now what I should have done yesterday I read clearly all over the 'net that I was bulldogged using a fake rip-off site. I have avoided buying anything from any of those tourist traps because of the obvious. I just lost my head and forked over nearly $400 for a real rip-off. I really did think I made myself a good buy on a useful piece of camera gear ... like I said, shame on me. Of course returns are not possible. Exchanges are though after a 25% restocking fee. Accusing those guys of the obvious rip-off produced nothing but disregard. Let the buyer beware of those guys. It's my fault - it was my poor judgement and I am stuck with an expensive paperweight to remind me of a moments' insanity. What bothers me even more is thinking about how many tourists are ripped off by these guys. I am calling it TOURIST TERRORISM ... seems like our city should do more to protect our valuable tourist industry. They sold us a VERY overpriced lens filter THAT JUST PLAIN doesn't work and we not allowed to try it at the store. Hmmmm. We called and explained that we don'd want a refund, just for them to send us one that works. ( we were visiting and live out of state otherwise we'd visit directly). We were told simply "Check your receipt, no refunds" and were promptly hung up on. This happened several times. I wound up buying a poloriad filter and a wideangle adapter for my zoom telephoto lens. I later found out that both were very over priced and that the adapter would not do what I understood him to claim. Stopped in here for a charger for my Canon T3i since I didn't pack mine for this trip and my battery was nearly dead with two days left to spare. I knew I would get ripped off on the Wharf but felt in a bind and it was right there at around 9 pm, so I went in anyway. Standard off-brand LP-E8 charger was $75 after tax and I shelled it out despite it being 2-3x the cost it's actually worth. Pretty ticked off but can't do anything now. There's a price sticker on the box that says it retails for $149.99 which is complete nonsense. I could've found elsewhere away from the tourist trap and gotten it for half what I paid. Then the dude was asking if I wanted to see lenses despite me making it clear I knew exactly what I came looking for. Don't go here for even the most basic accessories. read more

Do not enter or buy anything from this shop! I was in San Francisco for 2 days of my holiday and my visit into this rip off shop has left a very negative lasting memory of what one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Beware - these guys will rip you off!!! I initially purchased a wide angle adaptor for $150 US - which was supposedly reduced from $350. After a few days of shots I was reviewing my photos (of Yosemite) and realised the pictures were all blurry everywhere except in the centre of the photos. On top of this I realised the lens had a bad scratch which cased light to catch it and spoil my photos. On my way out of the US I went back to Online Camera Gallery and was told they would not give me refund. They told me to get out or there would be trouble - and things looked like they might get nasty. In the end I was forced to accept other items - or keep the scratched useless lens adaptor. In the end for my $150 I was given a Dane Elec micro SD card 8GB with Adaptor (for $100 - I still have the receipt and it retails at Walmart for $19.99)! and a crappy UV filter for $49. Was offered a good price on Canon600D (425$), but fell for bait and switch :-(. The salesman demonstrated pictures with and without a certain converter lense (digital advance 58 to 48mm w macro). Supposedly this lense was worth alot more than the whole camera (at 1499$). I was offered a special price of 1499 for both camera and lense. I said no, price lowered to 1199, no again, lowered to 999. This time I took the bait. I knew too little. Enough to know that optics can be very expensive for cameras, but too little to know what kind of optics. He showed price point of this lense at different online shops both in europe and in us. I thought I made a great deal, but researching it I found that the sites are bogus, and a converter lense like this is worth 20$-50$. It was for more than $800 but they were going to sell it to me for cheap. But I didn't use the camera maybe I used it once and then it was on the shelf and that's the part they don't get. They even tried telling me I probably installed it wrong in the first place and that's why it broke. I take photography at college, I think I know how to put the part on right. It's a simple part to put on and you don't even have to take the camera apart to put it on. I even shoot with DSLR Canon and Nikons. I found myself in this store not because of the cameras and lenses they try hard so hard to sell, but because of the cheap knick knacks they offer. I was looking for a couple of souvenirs to bring back to some friends back at home and this store had a vast amount of trinkets. I had been walking up and down the wharf and found that the prices here are a lot lower than all the other places I checked out. Shot glasses for $1.99? I'm in! Just watch out. As with all shot glasses they're made in China so the craftsmanship isn't exactly the best. One of the glasses I brought back was pretty much destroyed because while pulling off the price tag it ripped off part of the design on the cup as well. My suggestion? Make sure the items you're purchasing here don't have tags on top of the designs and you'll be good to go! Stay away from this store!!! Joe and Juan are con artists!! I came into their store looking for a gps for my camera. They conned me into purchasing a wide angle lens that was "too good to be true". While I was waiting for them to get the camera gps from the back room (which they didn't end up having), they used a high pressure tactic to get me to purchase the wide angle lens and a filter for $800. They told me that both had a lifetime warrantee, and I could return them anytime. Within 48 hours I decided I didn't like the product and went down to return it with my receipt. They refused to accept my return, saying all sales are final. I ended up leaving the merchandise on their counter and left. HE could give it to us for the BARGAIN price of $450, after doing his demonstration. After finding out later that same night that his fake website had no contact information, we knew we had been had, and I called my credit card company IMMEDIATELY to file a dispute. We tried to return the merchandise the following day, but they REFUSED to accept it. A dispute with US Bank for a fraud charge did not go well because of Online Camera Gallery's supposed "No Refunds" policy, despite my claims of being completely scammed with fraudulent information ad a website that was completely fake!! I got the same scam on the wide angle lens. The lens I originally purchased was clearly used. The box had been opened and the lens was not working properly. I immediately went back to the merchant and demanded a full refund. He refused to exchange the product or give me a full refund, and instead deducted $150 from the original purchase price, which was about $650. This is for a lens that retails for $150, if it is new, and even less if purchased online. So I was charged $425 for a lens that was used and available at a nearby store $150. When I told the merchant this, he refused to go to the nearby store so that I could prove to him that new lens is $300 less than what he was charging me. Instead, he pulled up a fake website on his phone showing the lens for sale at $650. I tried to use the lens a few times, and it fell apart as I was cleaning it. I took it back to the merchant and he became angry and violent, and even shattered a display case by slamming his fist down. He threatened me and refused to refund me. STAY AWAY. read more
